  1. I wouldn't have the time to really and truly play, but best of luck all!
  2. "Well, Nerwen has it right, though I think swords may be more effective than words when it comes to ruling in the beginning. Most Kings and Queens won't say it, but only reason they're in power is because at some point a long time ago, so long ago now that no one really remembers, they had more swords and more brawn and more brain than pretty much everyone else. If you want to be King of Eubric, however, you may have to cut through me first." Boomingham grins. "I'd like a second go. You know what they say, second times the charm."
  3. Ah! The site has never been this bright! I love it! Fabuland mash-ups have a special place in my heart, though I own none. Best of luck builders! I doubt not that you'll impress me!
  4. Sandy's explanation!! She gets all the creative chops for that.
  5. It came from his health - it is NOT a punishment for the plan, it is simply that he is at lower health than before because I hadn't accounted for duel strike. I will never punish you guys for a plan, but things that were preplanned might disrupt it! It still seems sound to me for the time being.
  6. Sorry, yes he should, this is the first time I've ever run a battle with double strike. That will however probably change your strategy, check the changes.

Dyric and Skrall soon pick up the scent of their friend, mixed with the smell of sweat and chemicals that Skrall is able to associate faintly with the man XX. They continue to follow the smell, but the sewers are cavernous and with the running water which is high in this section, it is hard. They have yet to find anything... but they haven't found any blood and smell no death, which they take heart in. Poletad sits on Skrall's shoulder. <Sir Skrall, Nyx will be okay, right?! The Gods would not let anything happen to a brave warrior like her! Why did the Gods allow for Death, Skrall? I do not understand it! I have been told many times, and I guess that the brave must sometimes die to protect the weak or defeat the evil, and of course the evil must die so that they stop, but why is it around at all? The Old Gods, they seem to have lived a long time and have not died! Why is everyone not like them?>
  8. Boomingham laughs. "I thank you for not putting it in the past tense, raider, though I am no longer a King- I've no kingdom left to rule. Sure I claim it from now and then to a pretty lady or a particularly annoying runt, but it means little without anyone to command and protect. Truth be told, I wasn't very good at it until the war rolled around. I was fine as a general, but I wasn't very good at commanding during peace." Boomingham accepts the present with a lock of pure and utter shock. He looks the lady up and down. "It may be that I've had a drink or two since you left, Nerwen, but you look better than ever. Thank you for the gift. Barty, look at this, your attempt to get me to stop drinking got me more drink." Barty rolls his eyes and mutters to Nerwen. "He thinks everything is about him. I was trying to get you to stop serving him that wine, but that was also a message for you. Damn mortals."
  9. All the Healing Staffs blow up. Sandy has acknowledged that they were not a smart item to include in the game - they are inventive and cool but have a series of rules dedicated to them alone because they are so strange. Generally, I read it as the rules say- Great choice for Nerwen... though I'm confused. Why is she wearing a shirt?! Shamans are unable to do that, right?
  10. Boomingham slams Barty into the table after he sees Nerwen depart. "You little monster. What'd you say to make her leave?! And she took the wine. Are you trying to get me to stop drinking?" Barty looks up innocently. "She left on her own merit. I'm not smart enough to manipulate anyone, remember, Lawrence? We do everything of our own accord."
  11. S'okay! Every once in a while, everyone deserves a quick drool on the floor incoherently break!
  12. Which Quest hooks?! The Gods talk? That's just me and Guts talking about what we have in common! Unless you're referring to Barty's newest thing, which is an inclusion Chromeknight's asked me for. I would never use Boomingham or his story to plug any of my quests, they are decidedly and purposely separate. Though I did like when he had to meet Johnny Everyman.
  13. "If he were smart enough to manipulate me into a position, maybe. Besides, don't seem like much of a path if you can just wander off it at any time." Boomingham says, though he smiles at the wine as she pours it into his goblet. He sips at it and Barty flits over to Nerwen. "No matter what that oaf says, the Gods do watch and do remember, Nerwen. Do not refuse their help now, and do not refuse your path. You have been good so far, even with your doubts- you have been a light even when you thought it blinded, so know this, fair one. The God of Light is not blind. He knows what his followers do, he is always watching. The thing which hunted Karg of the Shivering Axe was not from Ennoc. We had no hand in that. Continue to shine bright." "Stop bothering the nice lady," Boomingham growls.
  14. OoC: I'd say NO to the protection against the passive special, but YES to the protection to the MInd Eating. Seem fair?
  15. NO! I agree, some of these choices are ridiculously hard.

  17. We shall! Forgive me also, I will have to run the round tomorrow, I've had an outrageously tiring day, and while I can roleplay I can't crunch numbers. So it should be about another 12 hours.
  18. Boomingham grins more widely than he has in a long time. "Without the gods..." Boomingham lifts his empty goblet. "Well, I'm out of relief from my continual failing. But perhaps Guts will be knd enough to give me more." "It is dangerous- more dangerous than anything else I think- to blame the gods or thank the gods. You do what you do and you do it for yourself and by yourself. As for Barty-" Boomingham glances at him hopefully. "Ah, I was hoping he had somehow disappeared. He's there, sure enough. But if I told you I served Ennoc and I were your angel, would you believe me? He and I can lie just the same." "He's a hopeless cause," Barty laments to Nerwen. "Then go away." "I've got further plans for you, first, Lawrence. If I can't change you, I can at least put you in situations where you'll do what I want." "If you think you've got some fate planned for me, little man, the jokes on you because I don't think fates a thing. Where the Hel is that wine, Guts?"
  19. OoC: We have Monk Pretzel. You aren't going to be appearing to overstep. If Nerwen believes in religion, have her push!! As Scuba always says, we'll remember you and she aren't the same person. Boomingham chortles at the elf maiden he remembers from so long ago. "Well hello to you too, Nerwen. I can't say I know all those secrets, but it doesn't mean there's got to be gods that know them. Maybe no one knows them. Or is that idea too frightening to you? There are some things in the world that are bigger than us- but might be that they're the mysteries and not the gods who know those mysteries." "As for the gods helping me, well I'm certain they aren't, but I've never asked them to, nor do I really want them to. And being the hand for them- I do that already. Just don't see why they should get to call it me being their hand. Why can't I do good on my own merit?" Boomingham raises the remainder of his wine to her as if in toast, and then drains it. He looks expectantly at Guts.
  20. Boomingham nods to Barty, who zips over to sign them up for Quest 58. "Bloody errand boys, that's all we are," he tells his companions. Boomingham's eye brows shoot up when Eric speaks darkly. "Clearly you don't have enough drink in you, chap. You're right as rain in saying the Gods aren't going to come solve our problems. That's why it doesn't matter to me one way or another if they're up there or not." "As for your question, Raider. My kingdom lies that away," Boomingham waves his hand airily at the west. "But you'll be hard pressed to find it. The Orcs burned it to the ground. No one bothered to rebuild it because there was no one who wanted to or needed to. Its still a few seared rocked and the foundations of some of the buildings, but it isn't a pleasant spot to stand, especially not for me."
  21. The awards go back to the very beginning of Heroica!
  22. They are not. That was Flipz's opinion, not the way that the attack worked. I think you guys are doing well enough as it is, and you're about to add McColt to the party too .
  23. I did not mean it in a negative way at all (as in, I did not intend to accuse you of not accurately portraying France), I was just wondering what drew you to host so many of your quests there!
  24. Boomingham sips at the wine (it is sweet and warm) but snorts into it by accident as he laughs at the Raiders advice. A huge grin lights up his face. "That was the general idea I got as well. I can get behind protecting, I suppose. And what about you, chap? Why is it that you haven't been in Strivvi in many a year. I was there recently- can't say it was pleasant, but a home is a home. And though it may be that no one's telling you who to worship, who do you believe in?" Boomingham leans in confidentially, glancing over his shoulder at Barty. "Truth be told, Raider, I'm not big on the worship of any God. I say if the gods want something done, they ought to come down here and do it themselves. And if they don't, might be they don't exist." "I can hear you," Barty whines. "So, what is it, Guts? Perhaps its time we unravel the man of mystery a little bit."
  25. Shhhhhh. Don't give it away. There is a second and third place for each category, maybe someone will go renegade on us. There are actually some other characters out there with some pretty nice builds. Hybros and his bladarang, Flipz and his scrolls, Guts and his consumables- all possible.
