  1. And it would cost ether if it failed too, making it slightly worse than healing. I'd be pretty on board with that solution, actually.
  2. I just think they're a terrible item for literally countless reasons. I know Sandy doesn't take offense at me saying so because, considering that she's made probably over 100 great items for this game, she's allowed one bad one (I've even designed items I personally hate hosting)- but I REALLY do hate the Healing Staff, and will probably not take anyone holding one on a quest from here on in.
  3. The whole point of a healing staff is that it doesn't use ether though. It needs to be usable by Clerics, or else it's just a way to make mage classes into cleric-mage hybrids. I DID like your suggestion until I thought of that though. Healing staffs just suck. They just do. They're very game-breaking in their use too. They basically have the same chance of a success as a healing, except that they don't cost ether.
  4. "I swear, these missions keep getting sillier and sillier," Boomingham grunts, but a small smile plays on his face. "You got any leads? Or should we just walk out into the city and ask the first frog we see for directions? I'm not a huge fan of frogs. Could be a distant cousin of the green skins. And shape shifting doesn't sit right with me either." Boomingham cocks his head at the little girl. "Say, how is it that a wizarding family came into power? Didn't anyone tell Eubric you chaps couldn't be trusted?"
  5. Healing can still damage them.
  6. OoC: I'm running the round in like 3 hours. Just in case Scorpiox and Legonater don't check in, someone in their mini-party should give them suggested actions.
  7. Oh Jebs, that would be far too easy and not complicated at all!
  8. It has never KO'd anyone, just left them unhealed. The shield roll says that there is a physical attack first, and then an elemental attack, so I've always just had them cancel each other out. For heroes in my quest, I will continue to do it that way, sorry. The Healing Staffs are complicated, so I'm reading them as literally as possible.
  9. Anyone with healing rods on my quests from now on are leaving them at the door. I have enough trouble with the rules as it is.
  10. Sorry all, it's at least been rule changes that have been tripping me up recently!
  11. Sandy, I know I've floated this idea before, but what if all the Healing Rods just burned all of a sudden?
  12. Boomingham is the last to arrive, but for a change his breath smells clean and his eyes aren't foggy. He blinks a few times at the party and the Butler. "What do you make of them?" he asks Barty. "I don't like them. Except maybe the elf." "Ah, you dislike everyone. I like all of them except maybe the elf. He's got the smell of magic on him." Boomingham sniffs in his direction suspiciously. "You like everyone, Lawrence." "Be that as it may-" Boomingham turns to his party. "Hello there, chaps. And it does look like we're all chaps this time around. Anyway, I'm ready and rearing to go whenever you all are. Onwards and upwards." Stats are right!
  13. Barty finds Boomingham asleep in a room above a tavern. The little angel beats the Lord with his entire tiny body until Boomingham stirs. "We're going. Dealing with wizards. Your favorites." "Did I sign up for this one, or did you?" "You're to blame, Lawrence. As always. I thought you gave a whole speech about how you choose your actions, no other forces." "I guess alcohol is sort of like a God then- it picks my fate without always deciding to inform me. Ah well, onwards and upwards." The two intrepid heroes step out into the cool morning and Barty leads the way to the Zeigfried Manor.
  14. Awesome. I don't think I've hosted OR played alongside ANY of these characters yet. Very exciting for me.

Atramor finally heals himself and Hoke raises the young City Guard Orc as Dyric tosses Phil a potion. The brave Dragon Knight attempts to follow orders, but his anger for the Pongcanis drives him forward. Luckily for the heroes and the Empire of Dastan, his hammer flies true this time and rattles Vonnetate to the bone. 16. You're right Flipz, though he targeted the Warrior the previous round! I'll fix it now, and run the rounds in an hour or two!
  17. OoC: What type are you dropping, WBD? And are we missing actions from anyone/waiting for feedback from anyone?
  18. Boomingham, having checked on Servus and enjoying the cool air outside against his face, decides to swing by the markets before stopping at an inn. His breath is visible, but thanks to the residue of drink his insides remain warm. He flips through his new book- it has lots of little money making tips- namely that one can check the boot of a downed foe, because they always hide money there- or sometimes there are inside pockets they've sown shut. "Tricky devils," Boomingham growls out in admiration. He chuckles at their ingenuity. His first stop is Anwyl's. He tosses the dwarf his Frozen Sabre and Scupperer, along with the Ruby and Opal. "The Rubber in the darker steeled one, the Opal in the one that's cold to the touch. Don't mess it up. You know the drill, chappo, I'll be back around for them." (180-100=80) Boomingham then sidles over to Portia's Potion shack and picks out five beautiful bottles of mead (80-75=5). He considers hawking a potion or two for more, but they hardly fetch a price that was worth it, and he figures he may need them, so he tosses the gold on the counter, offers up a smile and wink, and goes to recollect his swords. They gleam on the counter. Boomingham picks them back up and slings them on his back as is now his style. He marches out of the market and looks for somewhere to sleep peacefully.
  19. I have one sword that stuns people, and one that makes them bleed.
  20. You may possess two, but not wield two at once. It is based on logic.
  21. Boomingham downs another drink, but feels his mind starting to clear. He glances around tiredly. The Hall has grown loud, and without Eric, Nerwen and Guts, he has no real company. Most of those he knows and loves are still missing in action or out on adventures. "I guess I ought to go check on Sevrus," he says quietly to Barty. "I was beginning to fear you'd forgotten about him. I can't imagine your new god would be happy if you forgot to defend the weak you had bought." "Yeah, yeah. Listen, you stay put. Come zip my way if my name goes up for any of these quests, got it? After I'm done with Sevrus I'm going to catch some sleep in a real bed, if I can find somewhere that wouldn't mind putting me up, then I'm stocking up, and then hopefully we'll be shipping out, though I pray not by ship- I've had more than enough of those." Boomingham walks haggardly out of the Hall and into the bustling city. Barty zips up to the high rafters so as not to be bothered by anyone, preferring to judge from afar.
  22. Oh, I know you guys aren't saying it in a rushing way! I just genuinely wish I could get you out in time for his Quest, because I also have high expectations for it, and want to see your characters go to cool places as badly as you guys do! I hope my Dastan NPCs get back to Dastan in time to make cameos if JimBee wants them.
  23. I wish I could get you guys done in time to send you along, but it's just not looking likely. We'll be very close though- if you get in those actions quick, it might happen! Maybe. We're very close!!
  24. So he is, it wasn't listed in his little *'d things, but you're right! That lucky duck. Skrall does have that option... I didn't know I had to list it, I figured he'd just declare it if he wanted it. Haldor is hatened, but I did forget to *ify that too. And yes, enraged takes place AFTER they attack, which is why Phil did attack from the back row this time!
  25. Yeah, actually, Triad and one other NPC were both possible to make an appearance in the third Russel Quest (again, as my plan goes right now), but she died, so the other one gets to appear now! I also like how everyone deals with Phil. Keeping him in the back row. You've figured out how to do it- someone with diplomacy needed to talk to him about it, and THEN you have to ask him every time you want it to happen, specifically. But of course now he has to attack from the front. I think a fair number of NPCs are going to live. What's the count of important dead NPCs so far? Zander, Mephisto, Triad, Bal, Bennetton... we're verging on half at this point. You can still save some at least!!
