He pockets the tome of affluence as well, grumbling something about light reading, and gives the saucepan to Harkenshire and the magnifying glass and bone to Ellaria.

  8. For those wondering, Flipz has taken Arthur out of commission, not me. He will recover whenever Arthur decides he recovers. We're getting closer and closer to the end! Hopefully you're starting to feel a bit more haggard and a little more afraid/epic. I'm super excited for the Court.

OoC: Just as a player/reader's guide, because it has been a while since we've seen everyone and while I expect you guys to follow the story, I know it is hard sometimes and a crutch isn't bad: Mallelio and Felton are at the Barracks, but too wounded to fight. The Gray Wizard, Felton and Vipera must remain at the barracks to research spires. Zane, Zander, Phil, Hans and Poletad are there too, but leaving for the Court of Demons. McColt, Bennetton and Gnash left to scope out the Court of Demons, but have yet to return.

  12. Fun fact - In Quest 53, it is still the day after Grogmas! Anyway, great post CMP, and I forgot to say this way back when we were talking about Witches v. Thothwick, but I think that Atramor and Thothwick bonded quite a bit fighting Zee and being the last few standing. I'd love to see that grow!

Yes, I'm sorry about that- I've just seen you take down too many players. You always have strange targets when you have a power role, so when shooting in the dark I wanted to potentially take out someone who may trip me up. I wish I had taken out a scum or two. I wouldn't have minded the game continuing a bit longer. Shadows, you were my next target. I almost killed you instead of PirateDave the night I double killed Dave by accident. I knew Scouty wouldn't be protecting you, but I was afraid you'd be watched. Should have gone with my gut! I always have SO MUCH fun playing with you all!
  14. Mallelio uses the last of his energy to heal Felton. He then nearly faints, catching himself on Thothwick's shoulder. The gang is fairly quiet, the battle having been tough- they also now know that they are down two men. It does not look good for them. Nyx and Hoke poke around a little, and find some scrap metal from the Chimera Guards. They each tear the pieces out and pocket them to sell later. Nyx also glances through the telescope (thankfully not aimed at the sun) and looks out at the sky. It is beautiful- she feels a little at peace, and regains 5 ether. The heroes descend a floor and are again greeted by the bodies of dead wizened men who worked at the Observatory. Their bodies still show the slashes the mechanical menaces made. Mallelio finally loses his stomach and pukes in a corner, apologizing all the while. The heroes recall suddenly that he is a teacher, not a fighter. He bravely goes around and closes all of their eyes. "I told them I needed to use the Observatory. I told them I was an ambassador from Dastan. I couldn't think of another excuse. I didn't want to frighten them. They didn't even know something bad was coming for them." Mallelio limps back between Nyx and Thothwick. His eyes flutter open and closed from time to time. Dyric trips over something near the wall, and the heroes are surprised to find a VERY WEAK Arthur sitting there, shivering. His eyes look haunted, and it is clear that whatever is hurting him is not only the incredible number of blows that hit him at the beginning of the battle.   18. You get something super useful out of each spire you stop from opening, and lose something big for each one you lose. You just haven't encountered it yet. And I guess if you don't want to fight spires... I could send you guys somewhere else soon... EDIT: I know, I do apologize for that, Scorpiox. I think you guys have gotten a decent enough amount of loot (not gold, that will come along sooner or later) but with such a large party, it doesn't seem like as much. There is more loot in the upcoming battles than in the previous few.

  20. Sandy did say at the dawn of the game that he wasn't opposed to hosting personal player quests when the levels got high enough. I don't know if that plan has changed (you don't host enough quests already, right Sandy) but it would indeed be interesting.
