I am extremely sorry to 72. Updates are coming. Not quite yet, but in the next few hours. After that we will return to our normally active program.
-
Off to go see Alan Cummings perform Macbeth solo! Updates tonight, y'all, and then not for probably 24 hours because its a Sunday, and we all know what that means for poor Zepher (12 hour work day tomorrow, woohoo!!)

"Yes, but Gerald did mention it." She winks kindly. "I was in Charis recently, actually. I stopped in Dastan, so Charis was an obvious destination." Lady Felix gropes sadly at her neck again. "I- I'm sorry. There is something missing from my neck. I can't recall where it could have gone though, I was certain I was wearing it only moments ago..." She looks around worriedly. "If you see one of the guests with it, excluding those from Heroica or the Wereraven... well, please keep an eye on them. They could be a threat. They will know more than they should." Lady Felix smiles again. "I'm afraid sometimes I speak in tongues. Keep an eye on me as well, will you, Captain Holla?"

Guffington smiles thankfully at the wine. "Just as polite as I remember you," he says cheerfully. "Now, if you wouldn't mind, I've got to have a look around the gates. Lady Felix will happily show you to the Dining Hall, I'm sure." Lady Felix blinks a few times upon hearing her name, her eyes locked on Guts' neck. She seems muddled and confused briefly, but smiles grandly once more at the heroes and offers her arm. Guts notices her rub her own neck absentmindedly as she ushers them through the entrance to the manor and down the huge hall of doors. "Charissan Wine. An expensive drink for a hero, but I suppose one must know their tastes. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Captain Guts."

OoC: Consumables will be added in next stats posting, Scuba. You are not encouraged, lucky or hastened, Nyx. Sorry. Guffington glances over at the heroes, smiles and turns back to 'Zora'. "I'd like you to meet my friends." The man with the mustache and white hair also seems to finish up his conversation. He steps away from the other man and walks through the big doors. The man turns to look at the heroes, and he and Nyx make contact briefly as she glances around looking for danger. A tingle goes down her spine, and then he too steps inside. "Hello there Guts, Docken, Hybros, and Nyx!" Guffington bows to the final name, and shakes her hand exuberantly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, finally. I saw you at the Founder's Day Ball. Quite an evening." Guffinton turns to all the others. "How have you been? I'm very happy you were able to make my party. I'm afraid that most of these people don't see many rough and tumble adventurers, should do their blood some good. This here is Zora Felix, an old friend of mine." "It's a pleasure, heroes." Guts observes Lady Felix, but finds no indication that she looks at them any differently than she did previously. Discovering his eyes on her, she gives him a tight but flirtatious smile.

"Moving forward is the only thing to do, though I'm glad you've not forgotten. I wanted to ask of the child, but I didn't want to broach any subjects that you didn't feel needed discussing. I have faith your Elpis alive. When you find him, you come to me. I will help you retrieve him." "The Gods smile kindly on all those that smile kindly back!" intones the happy little angel. "Don't blame the Gods for your Elpis' disappearance. Blame whoever the Hel took him." Boomingham grumbles quietly, but Barty only smiles patiently. "This herbal stuff is working wonders. Get me another, would you?" he calls to the barmaid. "As for my interest in the elves, well, other than Nerwen I've always found them to be a little bit haughty. This band, however, seems to want to make good on past wrongs. Nothing but good can come of that. Besides, I've got to get out of this Hall again. The temptation of the booze is too great." Boomingham turns to Arnulf. "Sit, my friend! Intruding on something, ha! Ellaria and I are just trading war stories, and as you very well know the more the merrier. I believe I owe you drinks two times over: one for the Foundation Ball, and one for our dealings with the Stealer. It is too bad Nyx isn't here to share with you the wonders of the Flaming Gumball, but I suppose I'll have to introduce you to it myself."

Necromancers too.

If I didn't have a staunch "no pre-arranged trades" rule for myself, and if I had more gold, I'd try to get my hands on it. That being said, if anyone wants to bring it back to me... I certainly wouldn't mind.
-
Boomingham sips at the herbal remedy. His mouth puckers and his eyes dilate at the horror of it, but he gulps it down to please the little lady next to him. "I'm a fan of the Theatre," he admitted quietly. "Though I've never heard of such a hands on experience. You're a braver child than I. Stabbing Tesni... I'll have to assume she did not stab back, as you appear to still have all your limbs and your head." He chuckles merrily and sits up a little straighter in his seat. "I'm glad to find you in high spirits, madam. It's always good to see a friendly face, and when it's a happy one, all the better." Barty zips around merrily. "Hi there, Ellaria," he says cordially. Ellaria can't help but remember the Angel's previous clear distaste for her. It seems to have tapered at least a little. "How is your goddess faring?"

"This is our last jump back in time before the events become permanent. We must uncover all the mysteries this time around. You must discover the back-up plan, and whoever is trying to poison Guffington. An important thing to note which I have thought on. The man or woman who wants Guffington dead is most likely not at this party. There is no point in hiring assassins if you yourself plan to be in attendance. We seek only the assassins and whoever is meant to pay them." The party arrives once more in Daneeka's lab. Daneeka begins to fill the syringe again. "Find Everstien. No one else will recognize you. Don't act strangely." He wheels on the heroes. "Ready? Remember, I will be at your service. Do not mention anything to anyone besides Guffington, Everstien or myself. Everyone is a suspect." Before they have a chance to respond, he pricks them each in turn with the needle. Everstien gets pricked last. He smiles maniacally at the heroes. "Let's not kill everyone this time?" The light recedes... "...and of course, thank Mercutio the marriage was called off. A mere folly, I assure you!" "No trouble, Gerald. It will of course be the normal deal, and I'll be staying for the party. A Selkreeth never refuses good drinks." "Of course, you'll stay, Zora. I'll just make sure that U'Or keeps an eye on you." "Won't both his eyes be glued to the Ladybug?" What would the heroes like to do? This quest is a nightmare inventory-wise. To help you: you should have the same items you had when you entered Guffington Manor (excluding the amulets, which can jump through time with you). Any buffs you've had since then should still apply. Gold should technically be reset as well (Raider and Assassin) and you'll of course be able to keep whatever you steal on the final jump. I feel this choice is fair, as you aren't actually using the consumables either... but if you would like to see it done a different way, I'm more than willing to consider it.

The side-quests were quoted on the previous page. I don't think Boomingham was an evil antagonist. Just if we view Karie as the antagonist, I think he was her biggest obstacle. I also forgot to say that Boomingham actually really liked and felt protective of Karie, which (along with everything else I've mentioned) made her betrayal even WORSE for him. As for liking him - I gotta say, edit out a few traits and I LOVE Boomingham, as a person. I agree with many of his sentiments... but certainly not all of them. And grand gestures are totally in Boomingham's wheelhouse. Just imagine them too grand.
-
I'd open up sign-ups again if I were you, Danny. They've had enough time to check in.
-
Boomingham swivels carefully on the stool and clutches the counter. His breath alone betrays his drunkenness, but his eyes are different than what Ellaria is used to. Generally, drunk, he appears lively and with a loud voice. Now his voice is timid and his eyes can't seem to hold her gaze. He smiles tiredly, but even that seems forced. "Ah, Ellaria dear, how are you?" he asks somberly. "I apologize for my-" he gulps at air, steadying himself- "appearance. I've had a rough couple of days. Simply getting myself back on my feet. How has Olegia been treating my favorite druid?"
-
I also have to thank Rumble Strike (and all my previous questers who do it... and there are QUITE a few of you) who reference my quests at appropriate times. I promise you, it is one of the most heartwarming parts of this game for me.
-
Boomingham stumbles back into the Hall, clanging one of the front doors open and then slamming it closed behind him. His face looks splotchy and his eyes are milky. He walks over to the quest board, and, bracing himself by gripping the edge in a vice like hand, signs up for Quest 77. He then makes his way to the bar and sits down. Barty pops into existence next to him, but the duo seems to have uniformly adopted a quiet demeanor. They wait to be served, seemingly blind to the Hall and heroes surrounding them.
-
I also wanted Boomingham to go on it, but I'm happy with the party heading out. It just looks so epic already.
-
Sandy, I am SO excited for Falling Stars. It looks so awesome. This is going to be a real harsh battle, I can tell. I hope there are causalities. Even if its just the atuomatons. I'm really liking them already.
-
"Perhaps now would be a good time to synthesize your findings and prepare for your next time through," says the Wereraven dryly. "You must lure out whoever you wish to accuse, obviously, and you have yet to discover the back-up plan." The party is nearly at the bottom of the stairs, but they still have a few moments to discuss what they've learned.

I just think his shield is so powerful that it could have KO'd Guffington with one or two rolls. Not a rule, just a caution.
-
In my most recent battle, assassins were at risk of failing the quest if they rolled a shield, and the quest was also potentially failed if a raider even took part in the battle. I didn't design it with that in mind, actually, but it's the way that it worked out. Aims were much more useful in that case.
-
The party leaves the dining room and passes through the hallway very briefly before descending down the stairs towards Daneeka's lab. "She'll be alive," Everstien assures the party. "Her memory should be... mostly intact."

They do have the amulets. I hope they save them for later. My party nuking itself was also a pretty awesome round. I think my favorite battle ever, however, was the floor battle. I just loved it. And I'll be back in the Hall soon, Arnulf, don't you worry. Boomingham always slinks away after particularly harsh quests.
-
That is, HANDS DOWN, my favorite round I've ever run. No one correct me. I don't care if it's wrong. I will plug my ears and sing la la la. I think its all correct, but if it's not... shhh. Just sh. Don't you want that round the way it is?

Sandy did it that way too. Encouraged affected my strikes, which confused me because Scuba did not run it that way in 40, but I think that effects absolutely should effect counterstrike as anything else would.
