Flipz has been particularly generous as well. It is better to lead by example than by word - Zakura has shown what a kind and god rogue would do, and those who notice do the same.

A growling noise slowly begins to admit from Boomingham. It rises and seems to grow, reaching finally a bubble that bursts forth from his laughter, and finally the party can recognize it for what it is - pure, uproarious laughter. He wipes a few tears away from his eyes as the laughter dies down a minute later. "Thank you for that, Arthur." Boomingham nods politely to the cook. "Since he seems to want us to come to him, which way might this Stealer be?" When the Cook answers, Boomingham leads his party in that direction.
-
"He made his choices. Perhaps he has come to far to turn back. But I will gladly take credit for his death. I am the slayer of Bluehood and Steerpike. If I must add the Stealer to that list, I shall." Boomingham chortles. "Do you plan to stop us? Perhaps it would be best if you were on your way, madam."

"I'm enjoying it well enough. It is always nice to travel to Eubric and get off of Gull." Lord Marsh furrows his brow at the suggestion of Guffington's poisoning. "Are you... warning me of something? Should I be concerned for myself or my wife?"

"He knows how to come peacefully, and he knows how to come dead, so the decision is mostly in his hands." Boomingham shrugs.
-
"Looks like they were expecting us. Does anyone want something to eat? Shall we try the Mess Hall?"

I'd personally probably say the Amulet of the Court, but I don't think it's a totally unfair item over-all, and I'm interested what others have to say on the matter!
-
Oh, god, I hope not. I don't recall doing it. I'd argue that I didn't technically create that item, but I still hope that wasn't me. Time to go review my notes.

It was discussed a while ago how many QM's were looking to be the coolest cats on the block by handing out the niftiest gear, but I think that most QMs have seen the obvious problem with that now, and time will heal all wounds. I have always tried to be fair and balanced with my items, but even as I crusade against them, I'm guilty as well, I'm sure. Heck, anyone want to tell me the most broken drop I've ever given out? I'm interested now that I've brought it up. Also, hopefully the audience is enjoying 72. A lot of the action is (obviously) happening outside the thread (a lot more than I intended, but it's still cool) so I wonder what all you people without even your own side-adventures to try to decipher think of the quest so far!
-
How about this fix: QMs, this is a personal request/plea. Do not drop items with SP higher than 5 from now on. Ever. Just don't do it. Do THAT sparingly. SP 2 or 3 is great. Do that. Give it a few months. It should even out.

I was going to post your letter in the Hall thread, would you prefer it over PM? I guess I'll send it to you through PM and allow you to post it in the Hall if you so desire.
-
"I will fetch it for you immediately. I have a number of smaller texts in the same language, but I have already copied their contents numerous times by hand. You may use one of those in your ploy." Doc Daneeka and Guts slip out of the room, back into the long hallway. The heroes seek out Lord Marsh, who smiles kindly at them. "Heroes of Heroica, I take it? How are you enjoying your evening?"

"Save your things, Karie. You may need them down the road." Boomingham turns to Arthur. "As for you, I would love to have your mind alongside mine in this battle, but I cannot and will not force you to fight. Just tell us your intention now instead of later." Boomingham laughs heartily and sighs with relief. "Perhaps it is time for me to read off these scrolls of mine." Boomingham unfurls the Scroll of Recklessness and tries reading off of it, aiming the foreign words at himself and Arnulf. If the casting on himself fails, he drinks a mead. "Is everyone ready?"
-
Host a quest and try to scratch the heroes before you say that.
-
Glad! We've still got a while to go. I'll be doing updates again later tonight on everything! Including your letter, Tarn.
-
I really do feel bad, Kintober. I just didn't spot the Topaz in your inventory, I thought I was helping you out. Boomingham may be angry with Karie, but I'm not.
-
You have a 1/6 chance of not taking damage the following round.
-
"I have offered him that opportunity twice. He has refused both times. He is, at least, a man of his principles." Boomingham shrugs. "I'm not asking you to fight. I'm asking you to not get in the way." OoC: My apologies. I knew you were going the magic direction, and was hoping to help you with that. I failed to see that you already happened to have that gem. Name something else you'd like, and it's yours. Would anyone like the Topaz? I'm alright gem and elemental-wise for the time being.
-
Agreed. Besides, it does cost money to switch classes already. Knight advanced classes need to invest in a shield, mages and clerics in tonics, rogues in consumables, rangers in long ranged weapons, everyone needs new sorts of weapons, etc. EDIT: Un-related, but I've spoken out about it before, and I'll speak out about it again. I love the layered relationships this game can produce. Dyric and Cronk are VERY interesting together, both in this quest alone, but even more so if you know any of their past interactions.

Doc Daneeka's chilling silky smooth voice remains as even as ever, muffled as always by the device strapped to his head. "Lady Felix was not a wise person to anger, Hybros. You would do best getting far away from here." "The book you speak of is written in an old tongue I do not recognize. I had to decipher it on my own, there is no reference to it in any database that I have been able to locate. It speaks of an old religion and power that I have been attempting to harness." Doc Daneeka blinks behind his goggles.

"Your choices remain everlasting. You've just made better ones since then. The bad actions last forever. But so do your more recent ones." Boomingham ignores the suggestion of sparing the Stealer. Barty winks into visibility hovering above his shoulder.

Boomingham walks over to the mangled bodies and scraps of their opponents, rummaging through the junk, looking for anything of use. He picks up the Chromoid drill and accidentally presses something on it. The drill starts to whirl and jostles Boomingham's arms. He drops it in surprise and grimaces. "Arnulf, you might do well with that. I hope you'll fare better with all the pins and wires and all that sort than I do." Boomingham tosses it Arnulf's way before looking through the rest. "You've already got a topaz, haven't you, Private?" Boomingham slings a grand tonic and grand potion in Arthur's direction, and then passes the Nostrum to Em. He smiles wickedly upon finding the mead, and slips it quietly into his own pocket for later. He tosses everyone an appropriate amount of gold. Loot Division Arnulf - Chromoid Drill, 20 Gold Karie - Topaz, 30 Gold (Not actually given to her yet, but intended) Boomingham - Mead, 70 Gold Arthur - Grand Tonic, Grand Potion, 10 Gold Em - Nostrum, 30 Gold "Karie," Boomingham says, looking at the girl, and even at the cleric behind her. He holds up his Everlasting Venom vial. "This is called Everlasting Venom. I took it off the dead body of Steerpike the Poisoner. He was attempting to change Eubric, I disagreed with his vision, and shoved two swords through his gut. I disagree with the Stealer's vision as well. One of us will end up dead at the end of the day. You must pick a side now, and permanently. He will not be dissuaded, I promise you that." Boomingham slots the vial into Scupperer. Strange shimmering liquid appears on the very edges of the razor sharp blade. "I kept the vial as a reminder to myself and others. Actions are everlasting. Choices are permanent. Consequences continue to hurt. Make your choice, girl. Then we will be on our way."

Yeah! Discussion about rules suck! We should have a thread where people can discuss them, but that no one has to read so that we don't have to wade through this garbage. Oh, wait... We're all just discussing how the game is run. It's what active minds do. Sandy has always stepped in when a change seems appropriate, and let us cry ourselves hoarse when not. I don't think he'd mind a spirited debate! No one is trying to step on anyone else's toes! Endgame, I friggin' hate those gloves, but I still love you! Costy, your Yeti Coat made a year of playing this game not matter as you outclassed me immediately, but I still love you! Sandy, your healing staves are a pain in the backside, but I still love you! See.

Smelling Salts are actually useful to healing and tank classes, even though they seem they wouldn't be. Getting to attack and heal the same turn is what they should be used for, and they also allow for more soaked up free hits.

Boomingham smiles sheepishly. "You may suggest that, chappo! I'll keep an eye on how your scrolls go." If Arthur fails in his scrolls, Boomingham will use his Frozen Sabre.
