  1. Absolutely. I'm sorry, I meant to get around to it and never did. My quest, I'm very sorry, it is turning into an extended family weekend unexpectedly. I think that updates are still coming your way today, but I know we're well over the 24 hour mark, which I always hate to do to others. Just a few more hours.
  2. This is going to be a ton of fun. I'll be in and out today, but I'll confirm the quest and update when I get a chance. (And yes, my stats are super outdated, sorry about that, I'll fix them up shortly. ).
  3. The angel simply shrugs and eyes Boomingham with distrust. "She's out and about in the big bad world of Olegia. She's an adventurer, after all."
  4. OoC: I believe you're confusing Zoot's Demon Pals (I assume that's the official name for those three) and the Old Gods (Master of Regret, Passion/Gray Wizard). I know it's a lot to keep track of. Damn lore. Chauncey nods politely. "I will trust them until I have a reason not to."
  5. "My project would dry up. Lord Guffington supplies most of the funding. When Hughes passed, we thought we may have to end our plans, but both Daneeka and U'Or lowered their fees. I believe that Daneeka has become too immersed in the project to give it up, and U'Or has too much respect for Guffington to leave his services. But even with them working for free, Daneeka needs supplies. I do as well." Chauncey chuckles at himself. "As for what we're researching - I hate to say that it is a broad net right now, but it is. The Old Gods are enigmas. We desire more knowledge of them. What is their relation to us mortals. It is the same reason that other look for other worlds in the sky or through time or under the sea. Are we not drawn to the mysterious and powerful? We have only recently discovered, with certainty, that the Old Gods are powerful. On Grogmas Day, two were in this very city. Daneeka assures me that their combined force alone caused great events to happen."
  6. "I do not know how she did it. I lost control of myself in a way that I never have before. I did not know what it was like to not have a purpose, to not have control. It was Lawrence who freed me with his concern for Nyx." "My dearest friend Nyx made his acquaintance; I didn't have the pleasure of talking to him before the witch off'd him. And that would indeed be a pleasure, questing together."
  7. "It is a research project. Gerald Guffington and I, and the late Lord Hughes as well, share an interest in the Old Gods. Lord Hughes was found dead recently in his own house. The local guards determined it was simply a strange occurrence, but we believe they may have been bribed to cover up whatever truly happened." Lord Chauncey sighs. "I can think of no one who would wish failure upon our venture, but there are many forces, many hidden, who have scattered goals. Any faction, known or unknown, could despise our purpose." Hybros leans towards Shawe and Lord Marsh, but they appear only to be discussing the city and trade - nothing of particular import. As Daneeka and Madame Ladybug enter the room, Shawe excuses himself and walks towards his soon-to-be-not-business partner.
  8. I think others have previously spoken out about the Bionicle stuff. It's kind of killer to have it in a game where most of us don't get the references. I'm not trying to damper the fun for y'all, but I'm sure you can understand why Scorpiox didn't pick up on it. I can also tell you that I kind of skim over stuff once Bioncle comes up, even though I generally read everything else most characters do. It's not fun to read as it requires too much background information I'm just not really interested in.
  9. "I think we've felt the first tremors," says Boomingham sadly. "The heads of many are already being warped." "There is a witch walking the streets," says Barty ominously, hovering close to Boomingham's head, either seeking to protect his charge or seeking protection from his charge. "She's allied herself with the Wolfgang. And she's in the head of many of the leaders of this city already." Boomingham's eyes now land on Karie. "I'm afraid that some things once done can't be undone. I don't know how much damage she did to our leaders, but it may be permanent. Wasn't your friend Guts talking of a change in power? It may be that there aren't that many other options, is the seeds of discord remain sown. I told him it would only come in a time of discord, but it looks as if it's upon us." Boomingham sips at his tea. "Am I allowed another Flaming Gumball, Ellaria? I may need it with all this talk." "She has influence over even me," the angel whimpers to Nerwen.
  10. Lord Chauncey frowns slightly. "Not so well loved? I haven't heard of such things. Look at all the friends he's gathered here tonight!" Lord Chauncey lowers his voice. "I will be bold with you, Lady Nyx, as I have been led to believe I can trust Heroica. If there is a threat to Lord Guffington's person, I would like to know of it. Him and I are business partners in a venture that is important to me, and I would hate to have it jeopardized. Our third business partner was recently found dead under mysterious circumstances. I will not allow it to happen to another."
  11. Boomingham glances around the room and notes a few faces. He huddles carefully over his tea and sniffs at the sweet comforting smells. "He is doing as he does," says Barty loosely and with a sigh. "His path bends, that's certain, though it's this way and that." The little angel pauses for a moment. "He has a good heart," he whispers. "Just wish he'd show it more often." "What was that?" Boomingham growls. "Nothing. Angel mumbo jumbo," Barty assures him. Boomingham smiles lazily. "Strange indeed. How has strange Olegia been treating you, my dearest?"
  12. Again, yes. (CMP, for future reference, it is easier to simply label the fighter as a "ranged fighter").
  13. Boomingham smiles slyly. "A busy body, that one." Boomingham's face cracks into a huge genuine smile. "Lady Nerwen, what a pleasure it is to see you again! I believe I saw you briefly before the Ball? That Mulled Wine you bought me saved my life, my dear. I shall have to return the favor some time." Barty also zips around with unbridled excitement. "Hello there, Nerwen!" exclaims the little angel. "Glad to see you alive and well! The stars do shine." "This is Ellaria," says Boomingham, patting the younger girl on the back. "Ellaria, this is Nerwen. Despite her fear of the Gods, she's as wise a lady as you'll ever meet, and just as charming as you and Nyx, though I think she's got a few years on you." Boomingham wheels back to Nerwen. "When was it we met again? Traveling through time, wasn't it? Damned wizards, promising they had figured it out and it came crashing down in minutes."
  14. I love your quests, WBD. I will probably have more to say, but really I think you've mastered the day-to-day of Eubric. I think U'Reeves and U'Or are now in contest for Madame Butterfly's attention, though if either will ever have any success is really up to Sandy. I will look forward to every future quest, and even if I took a break for one, you can be sure I'll be back for the next. I'd love to see you take on a series of stories, so that your skills even further develop (I know you have one in the works, just can't wait to see how it unfolds!)
  15. Lord Chauncey smiles tightly. He bows to Samuel Shawe and Lord Marsh. "You'll have to excuse me, gentlemen." Lord Chauncey walks a short distance with Lady Nyx. The blue server offers them drinks, and Lord Chauncey takes one for the both of them, passing Nyx's drink to her. He sips at his. "I do indeed know you, Nyx, though I did not wish to intimidate you. I am, I'm afraid, a bit of a gossip, and your name recently came up with some drifters who passed through my town. I was surprised and delighted to see you at the party, I didn't know you were an acquaintance of Guffington."
  16. If you had gone on the Barkington quest you probably would have gotten to keep him! I'm trying to figure out how to work him back into the story in a quest that you'll be on. I want Cronk to have a zoo now.
  17. I can field that one: yes. It's pretty straight forward, really. Ranged attacks ignore row for heroes, so enemies would function exactly the same way.
  18. I'm actually gearing up for my finale finale in earnest now, and those are the houses that I can offer rep with and still get in the bits of my story that I need done. And hopefully I'll be there, Kintober! Boooooo to Sorrow feeling remorse. He killed her because he thought she was evil. Being his 17 times great grand-daughter shouldn't figure into it. Boo I say!
  19. I thought that was pretty obvious. It is sort of like the same turn as the attack. Also, Sandy, I'm a fan of all of the changes. Hexed can't be 100% ensured though, or else it's just guardian angel but with the enemies hurting themselves instead of having their attacks negated.
  20. I am also (because I make bad choices and host too many quests) in the development stages of VERY SHORT quests that will offer rep with the Shadeux/Hinckwell/Guild of Invision (probably to take off AND end in Sept.) and the Bonapartes/Ji Pei (probably to take off AND end in Oct.). They'll both be two to three battle quests. Hopefully. If I end up getting around to them.
  21. "They've treated me as they ever do," says Boomingham with a twisted smile. "Ups and downs and not too many of the bits in between. Take a seat, Sorrow."
  22. "Oh, no, I apologize my dearest. He is, believe it or not, honorable with his gold. It is on the field that you must watch him with a wary eye." Boomingham pats her wrist reassuringly. "I didn't mean to cause you distress. How about you have a drink while I continue on this tea of your's. We can live vicariously through each other."
  23. Boomingham sits silently as Ellaria and Arthur exchange weapons and scrolls, staring wistfully into his tea instead of greeting the Sorcerer. He grins as Arthur walks away. "Be careful of that one, Ellaria. He's smarter than he lets on." Boomingham claps Arnulf on the back as his name is called. "Looks like you're off again, chappo. Make sure to collect some good stories for me." Boomingham shifts in his seat uncomfortably as Johon and Karie sit down further down the bar. Barty's light simmers dangerously for a short time, but he just zips around Boomingham's head. The Paladin swats at him irritably. Old habits die hard.
  24. Lady Felix sighs. She is either an extremely good actress, or genuinely relieved. "I'm guessing you had to kill me for it," she says sweetly. "I hope I put up a good fight. Perhaps we can go somewhere private to talk? My chambers? You needn't fear me. I'm not foolish enough to make you kill me again, and if you feel the need to fight me, you know the outcome." Lady Felix drifts up the stairs heading towards her room. Will Guts follow? Hybros, meanwhile, follows after Guffington silently. Lady Felix takes casual note that he is not with the party, but seems to not act. Nyx and Docken lead the way into the Dining Hall. It is... a familiar sight.
