I'm okay with a thing or two being up to the QM as long as it doesn't change mid-quest.
-
I want to host you again so badly, but I feel like you should have a turn with some other people first. I have already stated I want, and currently believe the plot will allow for a return of ALL past questers who want to take part on my final quest. EDIT: The only two at this point I have my heart absolutely set on is Atramor and Pandora. They have too many connections to my plot at this point to NOT come along. But the more, the better. Hoke and Vipera could have their moments, Tarn and Ella (yes, I HAVE figured out a way to reuse Ella in an active role!), and so-on and so-forth.

OoC: It's a-okay with me! As Sandy constantly reminds us, we are allowed to (perhaps even are supposed to ) have lives outside the game! Glad to see you're back with us! "I'm alright," says the Were-raven defiantly. "I will go divert the servers from the kitchen to the best of my ability. Wait for them to come this way. I don't want an congregation standing at the door. Too much attention." Everstien walks away and Nyx waits for a while... As the servers make their way towards Lady Nyx, Guts slips out of the Dining Hall once more. "Thomas, this lady wants some wine," calls the blue waiter, and Thomas pours a glass of Charissian Wine for Nyx. "The other guests haven't been-" "Be quiet, Thomas. A good waiter answers only when he is spoken to, and the lady was speaking to me." The blue server offers his hand. "My name is Watters. I'm sorry for Thomas' manners. I also haven't meet Guffington before, though he is well-known to me and others. He seems eccentric at best. I don't give much thought to him, in all honesty. He is powerful and rich, I am not. We hardly have to travel in each other's circles. I doubt I'll see him again after this evening." The blue server glances peevishly at the kitchen. "Hires strange help and has strange friends. That Everstien is hiding whatever is going on in the kitchen. Lady Marsh might be making trouble, or that girl Avery. Pathetic that the chef can't handle himself."

"A good five minutes until sunset," says Everstien, glancing at the sky as the faun walked off mollified, followed by the blue winged waiter. "I'm sure you can do the math from there." "I wouldn't be a very good Assassin if I gave away who hired me, now would I?" Avery says. "Let's conclude our business here. The room needs to be clear in time for me to finish my second target."

I'm glad that the abuse he has suffered has prepared him for seafood battle.

"I do not have to explain my actions to you, Warden," says Avery dismissively, but she turns to Hybros with more respect. "You have much to learn of the Red Assassins' ways, Imp. When we are sworn in, we take a binding magical oath. I am not permitted to explain it in full, but if we do not adhere to it, it is deadly. It is one of the things that makes the Red Assassins great. They have no choice but to be. It's natural selection." Lady Felix accepts the glass from Guts, but walks alongside him as he approaches the kitchen. "It appears our paths are taking us in similar directions, Captain Holla," she says, indicating Everstien who is standing and talking to the two servers outside of the kitchen door. Guts tries to slip past quietly, but finds that the door is bolted from the inside. Everstien turns at the commotion. "Ah, Guts, I was just explaining to the servers that we have been denied access to the kitchen for the time being. It seems that Clippard has found some relatively rotten food, and while he's dealing with it he has asked me to keep everyone else out. It appears we will have to forge ahead without him and whatever it was that he was supposed to serve." "It's no good, we won't have any wine for the party! We need to get in." "Absolutely unprofessional."

I like the real life version of Lilith! I hope to see more town watch floating around, they're starting to build up an impressive number of NPCs. I want to see the Infiltrators return too.

Perhaps this should have been your contract, Imp." Avery takes a roll of paper out of her pocket and it bursts into flames. "I'll still have to rearrange the body as it was supposed to be, but no matter." Outside, Docken and Hybros hear muffled voices, one of which they recognize as the sickly cawing of Dr. Everstien. Elsewhere in the party, Madame Ladybug greets Guts. "Hello, Master Guts! It has been a long time since the two of us have seen each other. I trust you remain in good health? And you, Lady Felix? Hmmmmm." "My health has been dicy of late, but I'm sure that I'm feeling better now that I have this strong man at my side," Lady Felix says sweetly. Madame Ladybug smiles slyly and takes the glass. She smells the liquid, and then allows a small drop of it to drip onto her tongue. Her eyes glaze over very slightly, then she shakes her head and nods thoughtfully. "A matter best discussed behind closed doors, hmmmm. Where did you find this, Guts? It is a powerful potion, wherever you stumbled upon it. A love potion, surely, long acting as far as I can tell. But it isn't pure. There is something else mixed in as well. Nothing that I'm familiar with, but there remain many mysteries even to the Guild of Invision. Hmmm."

Zepher replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"It seems that Ellaria needs something in her system. We may as well make it a mead." Boomingham smiles kindly at his young friend. "I'd be more than happy to go get a drink. I think it's best that we get a feel for the town first, anyway, before we go meet any savages or warlords." -

Oh, thank god. And I know Scuba. But as I've explained, I can't really have you get too far ahead of the others... I'd like to update more often as well.
-
There is a 1/216 chance of getting 600 gold though. I also thought it was a little high, but let's see how often it actually happens.
-
72ers, you guys still alive out there? EDIT: Sandy, Whirling Flames should have only affected Atramor. When I tried to slow the whole party with a "slows whole party" effect in 68 you said the Pheles Rod absorbs it for all of them. All the enemies should also, therefore, be confused, because of special mirror.

I've already floated the idea of a secondary character at 40, and I think it was veto'd for some reason.
-
Terrain based weapons have been around since we all went to Strivvi. It's not really a huge issue, and considering this is only the second time they've appeared at all, they haven't really become "common-place". As for locked weapons/artifacts - I feel divided. I created quite a few, but have stopped since then (the final loot of 68 was originally going to be locked, but I felt that too many people would end up with useless stuff).
-
It's been done in quests where people have had weapons stolen. 23, I think. It worked as described.
-
I will rephrase slightly: There are some roleplaying stuff that people choose to do that really bothers me. Immensely. I find some choices by other players selfish and destructive to others. I also encourage people bringing it up. But as soon as it becomes nit-picking and an argument, well, no one will change their stances after that, and that just gets people mad. So I pretend that the stuff that bother me doesn't happen. Boomingham just doesn't see it.
-
OoC: They are in fact different effects. You were immune to the other one because it was not phrased as "Doom". I know they're different because Sandy rejected an item that allowed immunity to both, dubbing it too powerful, and told me to pick just one of the two.

How about no one changes the way they play and we all just drop the matter. Important Life Lesson: You have power over only one person, and that person is yourself. You control your own actions, no one else's.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Zepher replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"A warlord doesn't sound too much like a peace-loving chap. Where is he stationed? Have you had any trouble keeping the citizens in line?" -
Don't recognize the quote. That does remind me, however - no one recognized my massive quote in 72 yesterday. It was like 4 lines long. I was super proud of it and thought someone would recognize it, but no one did.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Zepher replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I think I've drank too much in my life time to have a brain like your's, Arthur. I can hardly remember all the quests I've been on." Boomingham turns to the soldier and offers his hand. "Lord Lawrence Boomingham, King of the Lost Kingdom, Slayer of the Bluehood and Steerpike. And you are?" -
Everstien smiles and then coughs before responding. "Come now, Lady Nyx. I thought you were less of a meat head than your bald acquaintance. Where is your spirit of adventure, your spirit of inquire. You don't know where this secondary plan can come from?" Everstien grips Nyx's arm as she turns to go find Guffington. "Let us put our two heads together, girl. The fates of Hybros and Docken don't matter, they'll be alive when they need to be either way. So let's talk. The second attack is not chef, because he's the first. Likewise, you killed the faun server with relative ease, so the chances of him being a second assassin should the first fail is unlikely. Besides that, he delivered the poison. It seems unlikely whoever the contractor is would put all their eggs in one basket. It is not one of you, it is not myself, it is not Doctor Daneeka, it is not Guffington. When left to their own devices, when all Hel broke loose, Elba and U'Or did not engage in combat, so it seems unlikely they are here to murder their employer." The wereraven pauses and coughs violently for a short time. Nyx can feel his talon (still gripping her arm) shudder slightly. His eyes, when returning to contact with her's, seem milky and bloodshot. "Excuse me. Lord Chauncey attacked everyone but Lord Guffington. Besides, he wasn't particularly subtle with his attack, and it came before the first attempt. That takes him off the table as far as our considerations go. That leaves us with... what, six suspects? Madame Ladybug, Samuel Shawe, Lord Henry Hinckwell, Lord Marsh, Lady Marsh, and the Server Watters. Which of those seems capable of being a secondary attack on Guffington?" Everstien releases Lady Nyx's arm. "And how can we ensure that we catch them in the act this time around?" Round Eleven >Docken v. Avery - Special Damage (Docken Doomed) >Docken takes a Grand Potion >Hybros v. Clippard - Shield/Hit (2,2 No Assassination, 7 Gold Gained) >Hybros v. It was always the intended effect (and has no effect on previous rounds, this round, or even the most immediate next round) but I thought I should clarify. "What the hell is going on here?!" exclaims the terrified Lady Marsh as she is once more shoved back by Docken. "What is this?!" "I'm sorry, but I fear that both the heroes and I have professions that don't allow for bystanders to survive. Isn't that right, Assassin?"

@Scuba - As the quest is mostly time based, I sadly have to update everything at about the same time, so as to not throw anything out of whack. @Endgame - My original goal was a month and a half. We are unlikely to make that, but it shouldn't extend over two months, so I expect we'll be done somewhere relatively early in August.
