  1. "I understand the need for his growth, Nerwen. I'm afraid if he goes unchecked, he'll grow powerful and reckless. The weak and reckless are foolish, the powerful and reckless are dangerous." Boomingham chews on his cheek. "I'll defer to your judgement in this case, but also make no secret of my disagreement. I'd prefer to be on good terms with the elves than have him learn very little." Boomingham turns a critical eye on Nerwen, but then gives a barking laugh. "I suppose I wasn't going to give the city to them anyway. Looks like I've made it a little harder on the kid, though." He shrugs. "Perhaps you will allow Ellaria and I to go talk to this Lady and apologize for our ambassador's rashness. I think we've both finished our teas and other business."
  2. "Well, perhaps I'll see you around, then. Knights of Patuqun." Boomingham nods thoughtfully, then draws both of his swords and steps into the center of the brawl between the elf and dwarf, holding one sword up on either side. He quickly heals the elf's hand. "I apologize for my squire, sir elf. He has yet to learn restraint and manners. I will be sure to discipline him if you'd be so kind as to stand down." Boomingham looks over at the dwarf as well. "Have you forgotten that we're on a diplomatic mission, ambassador?" he hisses with fierce eyes and a fiercer grin.
  3. I like all the Job Classes (CMP's 3 plus WBD's 1) and actually was toying with a duel class class as well when Sandy made his, so glad to see there was another attempt at it. I hope not all these classes make it into the game (as a QM) but they're all interesting for sure! Scuba's suggestion is a very good one (and smart for reasons he just explained). I am also toying with a class idea, that might be part of my final quest, but I'm not sure I want to throw another one into the mix. Maybe I'll publish it and see if there'd be interest.
  4. OoC: I'm just going to have you attack Avery with your second turn, Hybros. If you would have done something different, then we'll change it retro-actively! I, as always, trust you to be honest, and say if you would have done something different regardless of the roll. I'm also switching you to Zoot's Reaper because you can't assassinate her, and assume you'd use your strongest weapon, therefore. Round Fifteen >Docken uses Health Core - Full Health >Docken v. Avery - Hit (41*2=82 Damage) >Hybros uses Remedy >Hybros v. Avery - Critical Hit ([15*2]+26/2=28) Lady Marsh v. Docken - (0 Damage) (16 Counterstrike) The heroes continue to deal damage to Avery, but they'll need to move more quickly if they're going to dispatch of the Assassin and still make it out to see what happens to Guffington without the poisoner active. Enemies Lady Marsh Level 7 Humanoid Health: 145/300 Special Damage: Slap – Deals 2 damage to the hero and stuns them. Drops: 50 gold Avery the Red Assassin Level 58 Humanoid *Lucky* *Immune to all effects and Instant Kill* Health: 978/1160 Special I: Mark of the Red Assassin – Instantly kills target. If target is immune to Instant Kill, the target becomes Doomed. Passive Special I: Clever Eye - On even rounds, the waitress ignores SP. Passive Special II: Cloak of the Red Assassin – All damage dealt by the Red Assassin has a 1/3 1/6 chance of killing the target. (If cloak is removed, 1/6). Passive Special III: Revenge - Whenever Avery is dealt damage by a hero, she remembers. The hero is given a “mark counter”. When Avery deals damage to a hero, the mark counter is used as a multiplier, but removed. Mark counters stack (if there is only one mark counter, it is ignored). Drops: ??? 5. Boomingham himself looks a little abashed. "You're right, Ellaria. I spoke out of turn. Nerwen makes the final calls. It's just that, sometimes, when certain party members get hot headed," Boomingham points at the dwarf and then jerks his thumb stealthily over his shoulder at Arthur, "you need to be ready to act on your own. But as long as we have Nerwen, you're right. She makes the calls, and I'm out of line. All this damned herbal tea is making me crazy, I need some mead in my system." He laughs heartily.
  6. Jacob and Christian! I'll be leaving assured Wi-Fi very shortly! I may just run this round with what I assume the actions will be... it's been a week or so since I've actually run a round of this battle, and since its a timed-ish quest its really starting to hold up the other parties.
  7. "I advise you to do what you think is the best course of action, my dear. Lead by example," Boomingham says with a kind smile. He sips on his tea and turns back to the bearded knight. "Would this warehouse of your's be accepting visitors? I've been told to make friendly with those who are occupying the town, and one way or another that seems to include you lot."
  8. Boomingham leans over to Ellaria easily, his massive weight shifting slowly and surely. "If you wish to intervene and win the elf's good graces, I'm certain no one would stop you. The dwarf acted of his own accord, so his punishment may be that we too act of our own accord. He'll be getting a stern talking to either way once all is said and done. And if he looks likely to kill the elf, or the other way around..." Boomingham shrugs. "I may take action myself."
  9. OoC: Ah, sorry! Just didn't see if y'all had heard that the battle was still rolling, and was worried I might be holding up the quest due to faulty communication. And you shouldn't be (and weren't affected by it last round). I just forgot to delete the little denotation next to your name.
  10. OoC: BD, please post actions. I don't know if I made it seem like the battle was over, but it's not. I don't think I did any of the normal "battle is over" sort of indications (no levels gained, enemies still listed...). You can get out of the battle through clever thinking, items, or victory. But I will indicate it.
  11. BD, JimBee, sorry if it seemed like the battle ended. I didn't really intend it to seem that way (no "the battle was victorious). You can try to exit the battle if you like, but, you know, you have to do it the normal way (smoke bomb) and indicate what you want to do with the others in the kitchen. EDIT: You may also end the fight creatively, but as of right now, I'm waiting on actions from BD.
  12. Passive Specials are the only way to beat witches.
  13. "Of course," Boomingham nods understanding and sips on his tea. "Do you have a place that I can possibly visit you and your fellow knights?" Boomingham further lowers his voice. "I am indeed practiced in combat, and the fate of this town has been left in my hands in one way or another. I am, however, a little out of practice. Which of the forces would you stake your claim with, if it came to a fight? Or have you not been in town long enough to tell a fellow warrior which force would be best to enlist in?"
  14. Atramor would meet his demise and be replaced by Bigger Atramor. That would be the end of the Atramor story arc. He'd have to start back over from level one. Bigger Atramor would have all the same characteristics, just no memory, and also he'd have to roleplay being awkwardly large.
  15. The sun sets abruptly, marking the time as 8:30, giving the heroes approximately twenty-five minutes before the murder of their friend. Hybros and Docken glance around the room, but find that it has only one exit - the door they locked behind them. There is no where to move the chef. Lady Marsh too, perhaps slightly forgotten at this point, cowers in one of the corners. Avery too stands poised. Her knife has not been returned to its hiding place. It seems that unless the heroes want things to devolve horribly... a second time... they are not quote done in the kitchen yet. Lady Nyx quietly slips out of the Dining Hall.
  16. Checking in from wonderfully sunny Las Vegas! Trump Hotel has Wi-Fi, so at least for the next day or two, I'll be around!
  17. Boomingham balks at the prices of just a simple mead. "I'll have a herbal tea as well," he says bashfully. "So easy to forget the cost of things when they're generally free." "Not a very talkative chap, are you? I promise, I won't bite. I'm just a little curious is all. Who is your contact on Uland? What exactly do you do?" Boomingham sips at his tea. He glances over at Arthur and smiles slightly, making sure his voice is overheard. "That dwarf seems like a trouble maker. Reminds me of a person or two I've had to command myself. I'm sure his wiser elders will reprimand him shortly after." Boomingham's hand rests on Scupperer. He makes sure that Nerwen stays in the corner of his vision.
  18. Alright, leaving for the airport now! Hopefully I'll be checking in tomorrow! If worse comes to absolute worse and I can't get wifi at all for some reason (doubtful in this day and age) I will be home by the 11th. I doubt very highly that I'll be cut off, though. Fun questions to mull over while I'm gone: how many taverns and bars are there in Eubric? What have been their names? (Seriously, if anyone wants to take the time to compile a list, I'd be very interested). Also, party members: what party sizes have been the most/least common? I feel like 4 person parties are rarely used. 6 and 8 person parties seem common. Anyone feel like doing some counts on that? Anyway, see you all soon hopefully, don't have too much fun without me.
  19. OoC: JimBee or Docken, could you please post actions for your group? I'd like to get this done at some point. "I was just saying that the other guests have been very manageable so far. No troubles from any of them, really, though Lord Hinckwell clearly doesn't think much of us, and that were-raven gives me the creeps." "I don't know exactly what's going on with the chef, but the bird won't let us in to see him. Beats me why those two would be making any sort of trouble, but I don't think that Clippard really 'found some rotten food' and won't let us in. I haven't ever heard any thing about either of the Marshes before this evening anyway." The blue server looks around again. "Don't see either of them in the room, actually. Wonder where the fellow disappeared to."
  20. As always, Sandy, everything looks like a ton of fun! I hope that the building challenge involves building scenes from quests. I think that'd be a lot of fun - and if that's NOT what this building challenge is, I think that should be one in the future. As for things that establish the past, my final quest will have quite a few flashbacks in it to various time periods in Heroica's history. The quest is also going to be called "Once Upon A Time".
  21. Boomingham laughs at the little dwarf as he gets a mug of liquid from the bar. "Very dramatic," he says to Sir Bur'dazgar. "Can't say that I know the knight of Padaqun. What sort of business are you engaged in?"
  22. It's one of the things Sandy has said may vary from quest to quest. I think a lot of rules are okay to not be written down as long as the QM is consistent within their own quest and answers how they'll work honestly should the player ask.
  23. But in all likelihood posting will be a little spotty, which I apologize for.
  24. Boomingham follows the group silently through the town, glancing around. When they arrive at the tavern he makes his way immediately to the bar. "What have you got?" he asks gruffly. He looks out among the patrons and spies the man with long hair. "Resident? Any suggestions as to what's good? I've got quite a thirst." Barty, as he often does in new questionable areas, remains hidden.
  25. NOTE: I am leaving for vacation tomorrow. I will be gone for three months with no internet. If the quests I'm hosting/in could be put on hold, that'd be much appreciated! Naw, just messing with y'all, I'll be gone for about ten days, should have internet but may disappear for a while now and again. Will be back to normal posting by the 12th AT THE LATEST.
