I'd love the rep and I'd love to go on another Endgame Quest and I always enjoy questing with Nyx... but I'm not sure that I'll get back in time. That will be an option.

To get any of the loot, you'll have to get it on the final jump (next). And I'm not going to tell you if there are other ways to get the book. Try some stuff out! As for finding what you're doing currently boring... I don't feel that I've really pidgin-holed you at all. You have pretty free reign. If you're bored go do something else. This. It's what Pie said: look to be included, not to morph the story around you. I think that some people are confused about the fact that this is a community game. I think that most QMs do a very good job of telling stories WITH the characters. Some characters want to be the center of the action, but no one is. We're all telling a group story. If players play the game, QMs naturally allow for them to have an effect. Sometimes some players forget the other players don't have to bend to their will. I think some people think that cooperative roleplay is "I'll do A and then you HAVE to react with B because that will allow me to do C" when really that's just throwing the reacting character under the bus. It's a sort of selfish way to play, and I think sometimes people are so focused on A and C happening that they think the other characters not doing B is them "not permitting role playing". EDIT: As for Expert Classes - I'd like to see a few more that exist put into action before we create even more, but perhaps that's just me.

I have a September quest with Shadeaux OR Hinckwell rep. The quest will be 3 battles tops (1 is optional).

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

"If those beasts know them, then they probably know the beasts. I doubt whoever is coming will mistake the attack as our doing. I wouldn't mind sticking around and talking to these folks if you all want to get into the city. I am a Paladin, after all. I imagine that the Order still retains some respect from most factions." -

Lord Marsh looks around confusedly, but cannot find his wife. "When did she tell you that? She doesn't appear to be in the room... where did she get off to? Got to keep a good eye on her, that one. Always getting into mischief. But, no, indeed she did want to come. I believe she was feeling coped up on Gull, and I can understand why. It has been a while since I've taken her on a trip. As for any business dealings... well, I won't deny a woman her secrets," Lord Marsh smiles coyly, "but if she does have any dealings, she hasn't told me. Here, have my card." Lord Marsh hands Nyx a card. "Now, I believe I will go look for my wife. If you'll excuse me." Lord Marsh walks off into the crowd and towards the exit of the Dining Hall. Nyx glances down at the card, and when she glances back up Everstien stands in front of her. "It appears your friends are causing a little bit of trouble," he says in his wheezy voice, pointing to the kitchen door. Thomas and the blue waiter stand next to it. Thomas is pulling on it, but clearly it is locked from the inside. "Remember, we must ensure that the secondary plan goes through if we have any hope of actually preventing it next time."

I've started to try to consider the advanced classes as far as drops go. I've dropped a nice necromancer specific item, and created something for Alchemists I hope to see later (it doesn't look like anyone will be killing Ladybug for it). I think once people start to show more interest and we see the classes in action we will know what buffs they could make use of. BD, already ridiculously good pictures. I hope to, by my finale, have pictures close to where your's are (if in my own style). Also, my finale is starting to come into some serious planning!! I'm getting excited. Only 6 quests left after 72 in my story. Sounds like a lot, but I've already worked through more than that.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

"Well, it looks like we have one group we'll have to forcefully remove," says Boomingham gruffly, glancing down at his sword. "Assuming there will be no objections from the boy. Its a little disconcerting that they came from the inside of the city instead of the outside." Boomingham lounges near the fence, leaning back leisurely. "I suppose we ought to see who is coming this way. We'll have to meet everyone sooner or later anyway." -
I hate Spring Awaking. But Jesus Christ Superstar happens to be one of my favorite musicals as well.
-
I hope we see more cannoneers. I think they're pretty cool and actually am excited to play one as a friendly Npc in a future quest!

Just one of the little frogs would do nicely!

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Zepher replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Boomingham beams at Nerwen. "It's like I told Guts. Change only comes in times of turmoil, and those who make the decisions then are the ones who happen to be there, and have the military force to ensure that their opinions are the popular ones. We won't fail you, my lord. I have personally handled the turning over of small towns such as this before, in the Orcish War. Besides, I'm an excellent judge of character." Boomingham chuckles quietly and bows. "No time like the present. There's only so much we can discuss before we arrive and meet the factions, so I'm prepared to move out whenever everyone else is." -
Edgar Wright, one of my personal favorite directors of all time, has essentially been green-lit for an Ant-Man movie. So while he won't be in the Avengers 2, he is the first film of Phase 3, and therefore most likely in Avengers 3. Likewise, Robert Downey has signed for Avengers 2 and 3. He will be Iron Man in them because why would he not be Iron Man in them?
-
I have been (relatively) careful to respect what Sandy has developed. I agree, the Gods should be "ignorable" as a character - Boomingham is atheist and I'd be angry at myself if I definitively said he was wrong to be. The Old Gods aren't actually Gods, even if they call themselves that. The Angels I've explained away (if not in character than in my head, at least). Zoot is a demon, not a God. Fighting the shard of Ennoc was a bit of iffy territory, I'll admit, but it could have easily been another demon or spirit or anything, really, that thought it was Ennoc. Or just some old, powerful insane dude. I think leaving it flexible is actually important. EDIT: You may want to include Akkaba as well, Sandy. Jebs already made up a page for him, so it would literally be just a copy and paste into the Library. But those other Gods sound great too, glad to see them featured. Wouldn't want to include Amphibiannoc, would you?
-
Their Old God counter-parts are siblings. I think I'm going to have to put together a lore reference sheet before I host any more quests. I feel bad for you people who keep getting stuck on mine and have to memorize a bunch of made up religions and old myths.
-
Oh, it's outside the round? That makes it pretty powerful. I dig it. Thanks for the heads up!
-
OoC: I agreed with you, but realized that using the Amulet will technically take up one of your turns (your first this round) so you need to pick actions. I'll assume you'll switch to your dread hat still. If not I'll fix that action for you! Round Ten Nine Docken switches to Dread Hat Docken switches to Cobweb Cowl Hybros enters the Kitchen Free Hits Clippard + Lady Marsh v. Docken - ([33+7]/2/2-23=0) Avery v. Hybros (58 Damage, [3] No Assassination!) Seeing his bite-sized pal fall, Docken takes out the Beholder's Eye for the very first time, hoping that it truly worked. And sure enough, as he held it up, the air around him started to twist and turn, and in a gut-wrenching moment he was whisked back in time to one minute ago. Hybros was still standing next to him with a focused expression on his face. I know for a fact that he has spoken to Madame Ladybug about his concerns. I'm trying to get the Guild to supply the Shadeuax with a new more powerful bomb to sell. This military grade stuff is being sold to the Bonapartes, but apparently the Guild doesn't want them to get into the hands of private armies. It's ridiculous. The armies will be getting them anyway sooner or later, that's the way of the world. Why not allow themselves and us make a little gold off of it? Tell you what, do you have standing with the Guild? Perhaps you can convince her - I hear she's indebted to the Heroes of Heroica now anyway. I'd be willing to throw a little bit of gold your way for the favor, say 150 gold and an increased reputation with the family I serve?" Shawe repeats. Nyx shakes her head in slight confusion and makes her way over to Lord Marsh, saying what she feels she has already said. "The wife wanted to come, and I have to say that I'm always looking to make new acquaintances, discover new things. You are... one of the Heroica Heroes, yes?" Lord Marsh offers his hand to shake. "My business is a little less flashy, I'm afraid. I'm a deal broker, mostly. The more people I know, the better I can do in business."

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Zepher replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Boomingham rides his horse with poise and ability. For the most of the trip he remains behind the rest of the party, whistling aimlessly. Barty flies around his shoulders. At the elf settlement he glances around thoughtfully and allows for Nerwen to ask questions. "I've only got one teeny tiny question of my own," he says once her's are answered. "Who are these Lord chaps? I'd have to assume Kaveak isn't that friendly if we're to go up against his remaining troops, but, well, what exact crimes did they commit? Are these elves renegade, or are we talking a trained army here? Do you think we should expect some resistance in a physical form?" "That's more than one." -
BD, just a reminder that JB is away, and since you are in the same room as him you are controlling Hybros for the time being. Just thought it might be worth mentioning, especially if you're waiting for his input.

Boomingham attempts to cast his Scroll of Recklessness on himself, and then tosses it over to Arthur. "Best of luck, boy. Can't say it's not fitting." Boomingham nods thoughtfully as Nerwen destroys her amulet. "It's been a long time since I've rode two to one horse, my dear, but if it must happen I think we can both fit." Boomingham looks down at his stomach. "I hope the legs don't give out." -

"Moi? What have I ever done to anyone?" Boomingham bows sweepingly to the lady elf. "It is a pleasure, Madame Ahvialeen." "My pleasure as well!" exclaims Barty excitedly. "Didn't you hear Nerwen?!" demands Boomingham. "Don't bother the pretty lady!" -

OoC: Your calculations are correct. I went shopping, however: 5 meads now, 1 mulled wine, and my tome of affluence should grant me immunity to blindness. It puts my gold at 3, sadly, however. Boomingham mops his brow with an already damp kerchief and then returns it to his pocket. His two swords are slung, once more, at his side, and he smiles warily. "I'm sorry for being late. Had to go check on an old friend staying in an inn nearby," he explains simply. He looks over the party, winking merrily at Ellaria. Upon spying Arthur, he tosses him back all the supplies he had loaned him on their previous adventure. The lumbering man then goes to stand confidently next to Nerwen. "Well, my dear, it looks that it is finally our time to shine. It'll be nice having someone else lead for a change." -
Boomingham breezes through the marketplace quickly, his gold flying as he bustles to try to make his quest on time. Stopping at Portias he buys a Mulled Wine and 3 Meads (55+[15*3]=100, 153-100=53). He makes his way over to Anwyl and watches as the skilled craftsman rebound his Tome of Affluence, this time including a scroll detailing the ancient art of making someone else blind. (53-50=3 gold, Scroll of Blindness imbued into the Tome of Affluence. Boomingham then bustles off.

I've been running 72 with them, and they already seem more balanced and fun.
