Unrest in the Forest - Day 4: 2112
Zepher replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Apparently not. Did you really post all that information earlier today. It sounds crazy to me. Two investigators... but, on the other hand... I mean, it'd be crazier to claim that if it weren't true. So fine, I guess I have to trust you and Bruce. And I stick by my trust of William. That's four people I won't vote for today. Maybe we'll have to do this process of elimination, but I'm at least getting closer. -

"Yo, I can dig that. That's groovy." Bobby blushes too. There's a whole lot of blushing going around. "Nuitan is your bro, right? Do you know where he's at, yo? I friggin' love that song, I want to know if he thought it up or what's the deal, you know? It's cool that you gave it to Carly though, that was super generous. But I'm sure you're voice is rad too." -

Look, I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think you really have any case against me. What do you mean I knew you were lying? Were you lying? I was just trying to figure out what the heck you two were talking about because the order of events didn't make even a little bit of sense and you were asking us all to trust you on it, but you refused to answer, so that was my answer in a lot of ways! Also, if you had been framed on Night Two... wasn't that the night you were cleared? So how even would that have happened if you were cleared...? Are you saying now that you weren't cleared then? This is exactly what I'm talking about. I don't only respond to accusations against me. I've spoken up against many people who have never accused me. I'm going to talk against people if they accuse me or not! Because quite frankly that's their concern, not mine. My concern is catching the Maples! -

Good point. Basically their play styles seem terrible regardless of their side, is my point. Do you believe that Hazel is a maple? -

"Yes." Oko stares out at the waves. "I feel compelled often to travel. The sea is a great friend. It is always changing, but always the same." He smiles tightly. "Where did you grow up, Grimwald? The places we are reared stick with us the rest of our lives. It is good to know those you're going into combat with." "That was also Thistlethorp's doing, and the Red Death's. He brought me back, and he and the Red Death sustain me now. I believe when he death I should have as well, but I didn't. The Red Death almost ended my life then as well, but it couldn't. I don't know why I survived. I hardly understand magic at all."- 607 replies

Unrest in the Forest - Day 4: 2112
Zepher replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I know. It's the reason I haven't placed a vote for you. The codes ping me, and your behavior over-all pings me, but it seems like the codes were a genuine effort to help the town. It's possible that it's something for a scum to hide behind... but that's not a good enough reason to vote for someone, and is, as you said, not really your fault. I feel very much like Simon. I just have some people I'm not super confident on voting for, and that's it. Hey, I didn't clog up the thread with it. I don't feel bad for discussing crazy theories. I know. I should have worded it better. Discussion is good, of mechanics as well as of suspicious activity. I found any (prolonged) discussion of Barry's claims to be ludicrous because they were clearly farfetched insanity. Again, should have worded it better to begin with. I still absolutely don't trust you. I won't until I have a reason to, and I have no reason to yet. Boo. Latched on to Sammy and William's scrutiny? Heck no! I've been accusing you since... Oh, since the last two days as well? So... not starting today and trying to "latch on". I don't think William is a Maple. I don't trust you or Bruce. Adelaide still tickles me a little, but not enough to really warrant a vote. Maggie and Sue won't talk. Berty claimed Miller randomly at the end of Day One for no discernible reason. Chester spouts nothingness. It's a bit of a cloudy game for me, so far. I don't feel super confident voting for anyone. Even those who's play style has frustrated me insanely (Maggie, Hazel) are impossible for me to suss out - either inexperienced Oaks or very quiet Maples. I can just keep bringing my suspicions forward as they arise. -

Oh, little ol' me? Well, I'll tell you, since apparently you're asking me! I didn't know that I warranted so much attention! Must be one of the perks of being a tall tree! If you could present a case against someone that wasn't stated by the tree who spoke directly before you, that'd be awesome! Thanks so much! -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 4: 2112
Zepher replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If the PGO knew, don't you think they would have told us by now? It again circles back to the idea that there's really no way to prove this thing either way - it's the same reason we shelved the discussion of the Pear on Day Two - there's simply no conclusive evidence either direction. I think it's important to debate, and it certainly has raised important questions (again, before today I would have never considered the theory that maples were instantly removed without their identity being revealed, but now it seems possible though not probable). But at a certain point we have to give it up and lynch. Why can't there be three kills? Maples, SK, Vig. Maybe some have been blocked previous days, or their targets protected. It is not uncommon for the big to hold off for a day at the beginning. Didn't all three claim to the stumps yesterday? Wouldn't they know if they were bombs? That would certainly help clear some things up, for us. I don't think oaks would lie about that... even if they're clinging to their roles bombs aren't the absolute worst roles to have out in the open. -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 4: 2112
Zepher replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The Barry situation seems pretty clear cut to me... though not easy to tell in either direction. Essentially there are two ways things could have fallen out, though I have no way to know which is correct: a) The scum CAN janitor. It seems almost certain that Barry was maple in that case. Before today, there was little indication that he was a player of particular prominence who would deserve to be janitored if he were oak, right? I can't imagine why they'd pick over, say, the lynch. b) The scum CAN'T janitor, and all maples/SKs are removed from the forest upon their death, not becoming oaks. In this case, he was probably the SK. The thing is, I find b both less and more believable. It's weird that we'd have to figure out removed=maple/SK, because... I don't know, that's not really a twist so much as the town has to sort of just figure out how results are revealed over a long time. Right? It doesn't seem as normal as a janitor. On the other hand, his claims seem to be concocted in a vacuum - how could his fellow maples possibly allow for him to make such crazy claims?! The point is there's literally no way to know! So we might as well all enjoy the sun while we can and focus instead on getting a lynch today. -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 4: 2112
Zepher replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Um... what? When did I mention Waldorf at all? What are you talking about? I personally feel William is an oak. Why would a maple out themselves this way? It doesn't really make any sense. I can't think of an advantage, EVEN assuming that he's vengeful. Right? It won't really harm the town block too much (sorry Simon) and no trusts the town block all that much anyway. And maples can't win now if they trade one for one. I have gone back and looked over Adelaide's activity over the last few days. It is still very questionable. She put a lot of effort into developing the codes, which SEEMS to have been genuine effort (she explained them at least 100 times to Simon!) but what have the codes really gotten us? She's also been close to the hammer of a band wagon three times. Could easily be a scum pushing that final push, but seeming reluctant. I may vote for her. But there are so many floating under the radar. Where is Maggie? Why does Chester never contribute anything but confusion?! If he a player who got his brains scrambled by the lovely warm sun, or is he sowing seeds of confusion deliberately?! Has Sue Sumac done anything even remotely noteworthy? -

Just a stupid nickname, yo, you probs don't want to call me that, yo. Just some stupid thing. But you can if you want, that'd be tight. You know, whatever, yo." "Terse?" asks Avery, staring into the churning waves below them. "I didn't know I was terse." She smiles dreamily. "I have some joys in life. They've been... muted since my death. But I still enjoy things. Conversation is not one of them, is all. The Red Assassins lead a life mostly alone. It is fitting for me. Even fewer people approach me now that I look like this. Unrest in the Forest - Day 4: 2112
Zepher replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Larry: QW. You're the first stump I have codes with!! Also, I think any bomb claims are crazy. Clearly Barry was janitored. I don't know why we're even discussing something else. Even if William is a vengeful scum, shouldn't this plan still be followed? 1 town for 1 scum isn't bad. Unless one gets janitored. Maybe that was the plan? This sounds a lot like you want to keep Simon around. I have felt for days that the codes are a sort of BS non-helpful thing a Maple would suggest to appear helpful but really confuse the town. Your attitude towards Simon weirds me out too - here you call him out, but earlier you tried to pull him out of harm's way by not having him vote for a possible "vengeful tree" - which is a claim I feel obliged to believe, because if not wouldn't it just be a lynch against him for no real reason? It feels like you're trying to distant yourself but also protect him. I think it's time for Adelaide or Simon to go. I think many oaks agree with me. Stop voting people off for asterisks, starting getting real stuff done. Simon called on us yesterday to stop only focusing on those younger saplings and start to focus on people who know how to play this sort of game. I agree. -

"Nothing to fear," murmurs Avery, but it's impossible to tell if she's agreeing or simply repeating the phrase. "I don't feel the need to be alive again. There's no harm in being dead. I am what I am." And then she wanders away to the edge of the ship. As Nerwen and Pretzel discuss lights and gods the sails of the ship unfurl and it slips out to see. Oko inhales deeply. "Good to be out to sea again. Too much time in that city would drive me mad. I don't know how you stand it, Yu Shu." "I couldn't coordinate the warrior priests if they didn't know where to find me. I do miss the adventure, though. We are all called to serve in different ways." The waters are fair, and the heroes have little to worry about at the moment. They can take some time to relax, talk to their companions or each other, and prepare for what lies ahead.- 607 replies

Personally, it says level, so I guess the incremental level would be fine. We could look up how it was done in the past, but that seems fine to me.

Heroica RPG - Quest #127: A Light in the Darkness
Zepher replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Thank you." The gremlin bows stiffly to the two heroes. "I'm sure you know what it's like to have a duty to someone. I hope you don't know the shame that comes when you fail. I owe it to both her and myself to get her back." Yu Shu laughs and claps Nerwen on the shoulder. "I think you and I are going to get along, Lady Nerwen. I'll let you know - on this mission, I'll be treating you all with the same respect and trust I'd give to my Warrior Priests. But at the same time, I expect you to treat me as a commander. Because I am one." She grins fiercely, and bares her sharp teeth. "Now, enough talking about how actions speak louder than words. Let us take action." The heroes make their way towards the docks, where an impressive ship with a white hull waits for them. Sailors are lugging on some supplies. Yu Shu turns to the heroes. "Aboard the ship it is absolutely imperative that you do not mention what we are doing, or where we are headed. Any one of these sailors could be on the wrong side." The heroes head up the gangplank and onto the boat. Marcellus drifts away towards the sailors, keeping an intent eye on all of them and the crates they were carrying on. Oko goes to glance over the railing, but not without a reproachful glance towards the Red Assassin standing next to Yu Shu. "This is our final traveling companion. Her name is Avery. She has survived the Red Death - I have done thorough research on the Red Assassins after almost losing my life to one - which will allow her to fight alongside us. In most cases, if anyone saw a Red Assassin fighting, they would also need to be killed or the assassin would perish. Avery comes without this complication." "Hello, heroes," says Avery vacantly, staring past them. But then her lips quiver, verging on a smile. "I've tried to kill one of you before."- 607 replies

"Hey Erdy," Boomingham sighs. "Hope you're off to better places. I did what I thought was right by you with your body. And I'll bring this back to the Hall," Boomingham lifts the medal. "Something for folks to remember you by, I suppose."
