  1. Why can't you name him "Mhinak Ahzrukhal", then? They're both made up names, so I don't get how one can be more meaningful to you than the other... Look, you are never going to get accustomed to your characters if you don't give them a chance to grow. I don't want to interfere with your roleplaying choices, but your wishy-washiness in this matter is not something I can condone with.
  2. Why else do you think I chose Eric for the quest? :P
  3. Wow, you really have trouble committing to a character, haven't you? :P Many people update their avatars in between quest, but they usually have a reason to do so, such as class change. Some have also changed or expanded their character's names, but nobody has done so after just one quest... So I have to ask you why?

  5. Having spent a long time away from Heroica, honing her newly gained skills in alchemy at the Invision Guildhouse, Ellaria returned to the Hall in her laboratory coat. Brewing potions had been lucrative, but she needed some time away from the dusty, enclosed labs of the Guild. She also wanted to test her skills in battle against the evils of the world, which was something she was surprised to realize she had missed. A quick glance on the Quest Board made it clear there were currently only a few options to do so, thus Ellaria signed into both Quest#132 and the Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory. She then saw one of the Veterans, the Dragonlord, coming down the stairs with a noble-looking fairy. Something in the fairy's presence made her freeze and stare. "Once again, I must apologize for any damage she did in her rummage around the city." "Bah! Don't mention it, Prime Minister. She did nothing aside from charming some alley cats. Our heroes happened to run into her just as she was about to screw up the mind of a young lass, and got the victim out of the bind. We later found her in that same alleyway. She put up a heck of a fight, I must tell you!" "I apologize for that, then. She is among her kin now, and we will do our everything to get Rosier's poison out of her." The fairy then noticed Ellaria staring at them. "Is everything alright, Miss?" "Umm..." Ellaria was lost at words. She suddenly had a jarring headache, as if something was trying to break through her brains. "This is Miss Arbour, one of our healers. She has been with Heroica for over three years now, if I remember right." "Pleased to meet you, Ellaria. I am Prime Minister Euflear of the Seelie Court, but around here everyone knows me as the Fey One." The fairy's eyes twinkled. Ellaria felt like choking. "The Fey One...?!" "Yes, the very same. It has been centuries since I last visited this Hall. It hasn't changed much at all - the Saloon keeper makes better food than the ones we had in my day, though. Well, I have to bid my farewell now. My granddaughter Hope is waiting for me to bring her souvenirs from this dimensions." The fairy nodded to the Dragonlord and Ellaria, and glided out of the Hall with supernatural lightness in his (or her) step. Ellaria felt dizzy. "Hope..." she whispered. The Veteran looked at her in dismay. "What's the matter with you, fawning over the Fey One like a fangirl at a Carly Swift concert? Show some manners in the future when representing our organization, Miss Arbour." Ellaria mumbled an apology and walked out of the Hall, still dazed. It wasn't until that night that she realized that the Fey One had called her by her first name, even though the Dragonlord had never mentioned it...
  6. Why can't they be small-ish handcannons, then? Nobody is asking for technological accuracy here - we've thrown it out of the window a long time ago.
  7. No, it wasn't called just a pistol. You presented it as half a handcannon, too. But yes, keeping flintlock pistols out of the game at this point is the best thing for now.
  8. I feel divided about this issue. This game has evolved a lot in three years, and I've given up trying to micromanage everything. Lind never explicitly said he was using firearms other than handcannons in the quest and I totally missed the pistols in the picture, even though he did show it to me, so I am just as much in fault for this as he is, if not more since he wasn't around three years ago when this topic was last discussed. But I guess we are not ready to move to the firearm era yet, so I must still rule that handcannons and bowguns are alright, other type of firearms are not - at least not as everyday items, as K-nut said. Of course everything can be circled around with magic, so if there's a plausible way to explain it as "a wizard did it", then it's okay.
  9. "One of our novices insisted to go with us. It is not surprising she is late, though - she has a habit of fumbling about." "What comes to our skills, most of our Sisterhood consists of clerics, but some of us have specialized in other areas of expertise. Sister Zarissa is indeed proficient with spellcasting as well as healing, and Sister Hymnessamine prevails with her singing. I have a personal fondness towards poisons in addition to healing, so you might call me a witch of sorts." "What comes to the effects of the warm ocean breeze, my dear boy, we are about to find out, aren't we?" "I don't quite remember it going like that..." "Joining the Sisters of Danab requires dedication, concentration and an insurmountable will to help others, for it means spending your days with gushing wounds, crying infants and leaking rectums. We get many blue-eyed girls as novices, but most of them do not stick around long enough to be promoted to full sisterhood. Speaking of novices, I am done waiting. Captain Squidraken, please prepare the ship for departure." The Krakkan captain waved his tentacles to the party. "*spud* Welcome aboard the Flouncy Phoenix, ladies and gents! *spit* I see you have some *gulp* familiar faces among you." The captain nodded to Eric and Sarge. "Aye, it is about time *gurgle* *spit* we head off. The trip to Salmanda is *splud* long and troublesome, so the sooner we get there the better. *glup*" The Sisters boarded the ship via a plank with the help of the ship's only crew member, Jaws. "Watch yer step, ladies! Never had this many of the wimmenfolk aboard before... Neredice is goin' ta be mighty pissed, that's fer sure. She's a jealous one, she is." Just as Aunt Ovelia was about to step into the ship, someone shouted from the other end of the pier. "WAIT FOR MEEE! WAAAIT!" The young novice ran to them carrying heavy bags spilling with trinkets. "Phew! Just made it! You didn't think you could leave me again, did you Eric-boo?"
  10. Even though the theme's name is "Dragon Lands", the dragons are no match for that wonderful bee! That's creative if anything!
  11. ~The Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory are now open for new sign-ups!~
  12. Four heroes chosen by the Sisters of Danab to escort them to Salmanda and back were instructed to meet the nuns at the Harbor by the magical ship Flouncy Phoenix. They could hear the gaggle of Sisters prattling and laughing excitedly from a distance. "Have any of you ever been to Salmanda? The warm ocean breeze is said to do wonders to your skin!" "Try as you might, Nessa, but you will grow old and wrinkly like the rest of us." "Watch your words, Zarissa! I am younger than her!" "But certainly more experienced, if you get what I mean." "You are downright shameless, Hymnessamine!" "Ahem! Calm down, sisters. Our champions have arrived." The white-haired Sister nodded to the heroes. "Mother's blessings to you, heroes of Heroica. I am Revered Aunt Ovelia, leader of this herd. I wish to thank you gentlemen for taking on this endeavor. I know escorting a bunch of old women..." "Excuse me?!" "...My apologies, aging women, is nothing compared to fighting demonic hordes and forgotten gods, but in these troublesome times one cannot be careful enough. Despite the peaceful nature of our order, we have our adversaries. Sisters, please introduce yourselves." "As Mister Brutenhal here knows well, I am Aunt Hymnessamine, a teacher of religions and music at the Academy of Enlightenment. I shall provide entertainment for you so you won't get bored on the long voyage." She winked at Heckz. "Entertainment, sure... I am Aunt Zarissa, and if you know the history of your organization, then yes, I am the legendary sage that once graced Heroica Hall with her presence." "My name is Aunt Theresa, and I am here to ensure you keep your hands off of my colleagues." "She is one of the Merry Women of Eubric Forest, so you better take her word for it, hehehe." "And I am Aunt Esther, one of the eldest members of the Eubric Sisterhood. You must excuse if I am not the most sociable person on the trip to Salmanda, but I get queasy on the seas." "We are waiting for one more member to join the entourage, but in the meanwhile, if you have any questions about our little quest, feel free to ask them now." 13. I'll think of a solution to Chrysopoeia and the other issues with the classes in a few days. Alongside Alchemist, I'm going to make some adjustments to Cannoneer, Dragoon, Druid, Minstrel and Weather Mage, at least. You've all given very good suggestions, so I think I can find solutions that most can agree to.

It also damages Fahrenheit, since Arthur's mist made him vulnerable for a while. The Cerberus is not able to deliver a hit, but the Ziegfrieds keep on piling up their defenses. 15. Ah, it seems I've worded the rules wonkily. It's supposed to be equal to the level, but I guess some extra health wouldn't hurt. I'll add it to the list of things that need adjusting for the classes.
  16. I finally got time to build today, so Quest#130 will finally launch tomorrow.
  17. I'm preparing some adjustments for some of the job classes (mainly concerning the ether cost of certain skills), so now is the perfect opportunity to speak your mind about what you think needs to be changed.
  18. QM Note: No, the artifact only doubles base and class bonus health (not health gained from levels or equipment), which have been doubled since she equipped the suit. Also, I forgot to adjust the health and SP of the enemies after the last round.

"Yes, just send those meddlers away so we can catch up on old times, doll." "Family comes first, no matter what." Lilly closed her eyes to gather her thoughts. "You are right, family comes first.... But you are not my family. You are just some illumations sent by Abraxas to nemapulate me! So why don't YOU just go away?!" "Ahh, I was afraid it would come down to this... 22. My apologies to those anticipating for Quest#130, I haven't had the time to build the models I need for the quest yet, so it'll take a couple more days before I can launch it. Tomorrow the earliest. She was supposed to be the quest-giver for Flipz's spring quest, but it got cancelled.
  23. "All in good time. And time is all I have. Lilly here does not have the same luxury." "My family aren't monsters!" Lilly retorted. "Well, except that one time we all got turned into living furniture... But anyway, I'm not sure I trust him either. I mean, he looks like my great grandfather from the paintings, but this could all be some kinda trick. I know all about tricks." "So you are one of Valentine's bastard sons, then? That's an ever better reason to not count you as family." The ghost then turned his attention back to Lilly. "If you find it hard to trust me after what I have put you through, then there are a few other souls here that might be convince you more." Two more wizards appeared on Fahrenheit's both sides. "My doll! I am so proud of you!" "It is so good to finally meet my beautiful granddaughter. Zed has told me so much about you." "Grandpa Zed! And... grandmother Sycamore? What are you two doing in my head? I didn't know there was a whole family reunicorn going on inside me!" The three ghostly wizards were suddenly encircled by a sparkling magenta light. They all smiled at Lilly and extended their arms. "Come with us, doll. Let us teach you everything you need to know." "You are the only one of my grandchildren I have ever met. There is so much to talk about!" Lilly's eyes swelled up and a big smile spread to her face. She seemed to be ready to run to her grandparents' waiting arms. What would the heroes do?
  24. Yep, it counts towards the fifteen participations you need for a second character, but NOT towards the ten successful quests you need for the Veteran job class.
  25. Thanks for the idea for a name. But honestly, I still haven't figured out the complete family tree yet. I want to keep it open for new characters, even though I personally won't be introducing more.
