QM Note: You can freely move within the same region without spending time, and the Fountain of Danab belongs to Kalakita region. Pyro, you can keep on digging to initiate a battle on the Shore. On a roll of one, you will get a treasure from now on. And I knew I should have implemented a limited stock for Weepadel's shop.

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Sandy replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
I have contemplated the same thing, actually, and I regret I didn't implement it in the previous class change. But it sounds like a good fix for the class. -
I extended my stay at my friend's place to tomorrow, as I anticipated, so updates will be continuing then.
-
QM Note: I will be away until Tuesday or Wednesday, so please don't expect updates until then. "But there-in lies the problem; you have not said where you wanted to go, not once. You did not object me bringing you to these ruins, but even though my gratitude towards you for saving Zaniah's life is beyond measure, I need to get her to the healers at the capital." Syrma waved towards the mountains in the south. "There is nothing but desolation anywhere outside the Sealed Capital. Where could I possibly guide you?" "How does one seal a bell, might I inquire? We could always try to destroy it, but it has weathered throughout centuries, so the magic binding it must still be potent. And who knows, even touching it might wake up the colossus. What comes to your cryptic adversary, I have to say I have no inkling who you might be talking about. I have lived my whole life under a magic dome, cut out from the rest of the world like most of the other Star Elves. I do not have knowledge about the current politics of the world - those things do not touch the Star Elves." "Syrma, my dear, gullible sweetheart... Are you really certain this lot isn't spying for Fenario? I mean, they haven't even told you their names, have they?"

QM Note: I will be away until Tuesday or Wednesday, so please don't expect updates until then. Sarge picked a random spot and started digging, while Heckz only pretended to do so, yawning and streching every once in a while. Suddenly Sarge's shovel hit something... It was the hull of a miniature ship, roughly the size of a large do. "You found it on the first try! What competence!" Weepadel then ordered his men to help dig it up. "I want to see if the cargo is still all there." The subquest is successful! The party's influence is increased! Once the ship was completely dug up and hoisted back to the water, Weepadel emerged with a big grin. "The shop is open once again, gentlemen!" Weepadel’s Little Ship Shop Petit Remedy (Removes a single, random negative effect from the target.) Costs 1 gold. Petit Essence (Revives a knocked out ally with 1 health during a battle.) Costs 10 gold. Minimizing Dust (Deals the minimized-effect to the target, reducing maximum power/level, health, and ether to a tenth of the normal for the next three rounds.) Costs 25 gold. Lilliput Knife (WP:1, wielder’s power is not reduced when under minimized-effect, dagger.) Costs 1 gold. Lilliput Twig (WP:1, wielder’s spellpower is not reduced when under minimized-effect, wand.) Costs 1 gold. Lilliput Helmet (SP:50, suitable to those under minimized-effect only; helmet.) Costs 50 gold. Lilliput Idol (Wearer is immune to all negative effects except minimized when under minimized-effect; accessory.) Costs 10 gold.

Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Sandy replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I will leave you be, then." Ellaria was glad that she didn't have to deal with the shady figure any longer. She then bid goodnight to her companions and retired to her room to rest. OoC: I will be away until Tuesday or Wednesday, but Ellaria will stick with Tesni if they move out before I return. -
The last I checked, the quest isn't over yet. NEWSFLASH! I will be out of town for the entirety of tomorrow and the most of today and Tuesday, so there will be no updates from me until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Syrma was horrified when Pretzel raised his staff and started smacking her beloved. "What are you doing, you deranged monk?!" "Ooh, feels oddly good..." The healing staff seemed to work wonders, and it kept Zaniah alive as the others lifted the tree trunk off her, but suddenly the staff snapped in half. Pretzel had used it too arduously, causing it to break beyond repair. "Can you help carry her?" Syrma asked the heroes. "It isn't long to Valtira. The night is fast approaching, so we must not linger. The ruins should provide us at least some cover from nocturnal beasts." The elven scholar guided the party out of the forest and into a great ruined city perched in between the forest and the mountains. "Here it is; Valtira, the City of the Colossus. You will see why it is called that when we get to the temple square." True enough, standing amidst the ruins the party found a hulking Crystal Titan. It did not react to their presence, however. "Uh, give me a moment..." Zaniah grunted, out of breath, and slumped to the ground near the Titan. "Take your time, my love. Now, before anyone moves further, let me tell you the story of this Crystal Titan. During the war aeons ago, the Valtirans used it to protect the city from Fenarians, but the enemy found a way to manipulate the Titan so it turned on the citizens. It caused great devastation in the city it was meant to keep safe before the Valtirans were able to put it back to sleep. See that bell at the tower? The legends say it was used to wake up the colossus. So whatever you do, do not touch it. We do not want to take a risk that the legends are true, do we? Otherwise, this is the safest place to make camp due to the walls surrounding the square. Zaniah needs to rest now, but tomorrow we will return to the Sealed Capital to report our failed mission. Now, are you ready to tell me what your business here in Spesialia is? I cannot guide you any further than this unless you tell me something." Syrma looked at the heroes expectantly.

"Much appreciated! I don't think any compass will do you any good, since the ship is right here, somewhere under all this sand." The results of digging on Shipwreck Shore will be the following: Lilliput Ship Treasure Nothing Nothing Easy battle Difficult battle Would Sarge and Heckz dig despite the odds?

Depends on how much gold you have. It won't make much different to Ellaria, for example, who usually only has a few hundred gold after any given quest. And that's pretty much the point of this subquest - do you give these awesome items over to Marmaduc for some gold and more influence, or do you keep them to yourself and earn his wrath?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Sandy replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Grim Reapers aren't ghosts that carry shackles. They are generally more skeletal beings that carry a scythe. Who knows, the Grim Reaper might have a different hood-piece altogether. -
I bought the Grand Hotel this week, and boy it really is grand! There's some impressive details, like the grand piano, the breakfast buffet and the roof terrace pool. The working elevator is cool, too, but it could have been built better - now it's just a plate that moves up and down, and the minidolls really have to mind the gap. The brand new pieces that come with it - the half-circular window and the 1x1 gold brick with a spiral protrusion - will make for great details in any luxurious house. Plus there's a total of four golden frogs! Here's some general pictures, but I can take more close-ups upon request.

It depends, if you want to collect complete minifigs (and keep them complete) or just as many minifig parts as possible. Bricklink (online store for LEGO resellers) is your friend for complete minifigs, but you will get random minifig parts (especially older ones) cheaper from Ebay. I am a minifig collector myself, and my total according to Brickset.com is 1941. Starting with the measly 100 I had in my childhood bricks, the sum of them has quickly accumulated over the eight years I've been out of the dark ages. It's addictive once you get into it!

"I believe healing potions will suffice, if only they are potent enough."

The heroes chose the left path from the start, and then turned straight towards the treasure. On the way they passed seven empty tiles (7 turns), jumped over four holes (15 turns) and destroyed three barriers with Heckz's spells (21 turns, Heckz: -3 ether). They also tripped on one trap, hindering their way (26 turns). Meanwhile, Nalah and Tarzean advanced through the right side of the ship, moving through six empty tiles (6 turns), jumping over four holes (14 turns) and destroying three barriers with fire (20 turns). However, there were two traps on their path (30 turns), which meant that the heroes made it to the treasure first. The Tyrant Statue glittered in the darkness of the cargo hold, but before the heroes managed to grab it, two dwarven zombies lurched towards them. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Noticing Dumora's arrival, Ellaria thanked the dwarven merchant for the company. As she passed the hooded figure, she noticed him motioning to her. "Yes? Is there something you want?" The sinister bandaged man did not look like a fellow she wanted to deal with. -

There's no "new, round flask" - the professor is just holding it upside down in the early leaked picture. -
QM Note: Yes, the movement was the knight wriggling under the tree. Arx swiftly took the party to the knight stuck under the tree trunk. Syrma ran to her overjoyed. "Zaniah! My beloved! I can barely believe I found you alive!" "Bah, what kind of a guardian knight would I be if my armor could not resist a blazing inferno? This tree has proved to be more problematic, though. I'm afraid it has smashed my innards... It doesn't matter now, though, for I got to see you one last time..." "Don't talk like that, my love! I brought these people to help you. The other guards must be..." "Yes. Their armor wasn't as finely enchanted as mine, I'm afraid. But who needs an entourage of Spesialia's finest knights when you can have a circus troupe - led by a Fenarian, on top of it all." "They vanquished the brimstone dragon, Zaniah. We owe them our gratitude, not our scorn. Now, do not try to move, or you will damage your vitals even worse." Syrma turned to the heroes. "Someone needs to heal her constantly while the others lift up the tree trunk. Otherwise she will bleed inside as soon as the pressure is removed." How would the heroes go about saving the elven knight?

"Very well. We'll be here - unless the rain hasn't drowned us by then." Sarge and Heckz continued along the beach towards south until they saw the figure of an enormous cargo ship ahead. The ship looked like nothing they had ever seen sailing on the seas. They soon spotted two of the Rakshasa staring at the wrecked hull as well. "Whoa! I don't understand how that thing stayed afloat in the first place!" "Those dwarven engineers sure are something, Tarzean. Too bad none of them survived the trip. Makes our job that much easier. The Tyrant Statue is said to be worth a long penny." The werelions then heard the heroes approaching. "Damn, looks like it won't be that easy, after all - the competition's here!" "Ah, Mister Brutenhal. I see you brought a friend, as well. My compliments for daring to face me in a race for the treasure." A small flame flickered in Nalah's hand. "I am not called Firemane for nothing, you see. Catch us if you can!" The werelions dashed to the wreckage, leaving the heroes no other choice but to follow. ~TREASURE HUNT #3: THE WRECKAGE OF THE TITAANIC~ The party must decide which path they would take from the start to the treasure. Arx rose above the thick smoke and scanned the area. He saw the spires of a ruined city on the horizon, but as he circulated above the forest he also saw movement about a mile's distance from where the heroes were. Arx descended and saw an elven knight stuck under a fallen tree trunk, trying to lift it up. "Great! What I needed was more dragons..." Mediq popped out of his lamp to heal Nerwen at the cost of 5 ether for Namyrra. "Oh, I know the way out... just fly up and away... but what can I... do about it... anymore? I am a ghost... bound to you...." "Thank you, Fenarian. I have to admit that I am still perplexed about why you are here, and why you rushed to my aid without hesitation.
