  1. This is interesting, Ellen... If you suspect I was an investigator, wouldn't that mean I was right about you yesterday? After all, I went after you so fervently without much of an excuse, so me being an investigator would fit that picture well, wouldn't it?
  2. Nope, not me. I wouldn't be raving about the importance of voting if I got to do my own personal "votings" at night.
  3. Sorry, boys, your dad was a good man and it's a damn shame he's gone. I was wrong to suspect him yesterday, I apologize. But it looks as it was no wonder old Cyril was accusing just about everyone - he had no allegiance to anyone. Callie, on the other hand, made herself look very reasonable and logical on the previous days, so naturally she turned out to be insane. Well, you win some you lose some, that's the way life goes. I don't think we were on the right tracks yesterday with the votings, but it'll certainly be even harder to vote out the right person today, with less insanes hiding among us. I, too, am very interested to hear if anybody saw something.
  4. Thank you for making these threads. I truly hope members of EB will be able to find the awesome works portrayed in this forum better thanks to this system. I for one will be using it.
  5. I think that's a rather nice gesture from TLG, since the two minifigs only come in the MMV-set, which many kids don't have because of it's rarity and price.
  6. I always like these episodes where the overarching plot takes a step forward. Totally anticipating the next week's episode with the vampires (who of course turn out to be aliens like every other "mythical" creature appearing in Doctor Who). Amy was great in this episode, letting her lunatic lusts for the Doctor to take over completely. I don't know whether to feel more sorry for Amy or for the Doctor about the situation! River Song is one mystifying character, and that's what I love about her: she knows so much about the Doctor that it's overwhelming, yet she hides so much about herself as well that she feels refreshing every time. As for the Weeping Angels, it was odd that they now functioned totally different from their first appearance in Blink. Remember how the Doctor defeated them that time, ? Well, there was no trace of that weakness this time... A great episode for a great series, in any case!
  7. Of course not! It's not like I own the rights to this specific combination of pieces. I'd be honored to have my fig appear in your contest entry.
  8. Funny how he uses red and blue paint to do a painting of a yellow and green arrangement. Nice little vignette, anyway!
  9. Thanks for the sweet comments, guys! It's actually just a luggage chest that's supposed to be "nailed" into the back of the carriage. Well, I aimed for a sort of "Cinderella's pumpkin-carriage"-look, but obviously it didn't come even close to that. But yeah, it's for the queen of a fantasy kingdom, so I didn't go for an ultra-realistic design.
  10. This is a creation I made for the upcoming chapter of my LEGO Castle comic, Queens' Quest (links are found in my signature). It is a royal carriage bearing the colors of the Crownies. When I first built it, it had four horses pulling it instead of just two, but I had to cut down their number in order to fit it into both the landscape I made for the comic and the photos that I shot. Here's the front and the back of the carriage. And lastly a peek in the inside, with two opposing benches. There's room for two figs to sit comfortably. As said, you can see the carriage in action in the next chapter of my comic, coming to the Brickflicks & Comics-section in a matter of days. Hope you like it!
  11. Here's my Persian alter-ego, along with a Persian cat to go with her. And here's the close-up version of her that I'm going to use as my avatar.
  12. I don't have a single "little friend" in this island, all the people I knew from before are dead now. The other people who voted for you made an individual decision, so don't make this as some joint conspiracy against you. If you are convicted and you turn out sane, then I apologize in advance and will surely send your family my condolences if I ever get out of here (like they'll appreciate that! ), but that's the name of this Game of Life - you won't know the truth until the verdict is said and done. I am quite certain that in that scenario I'm as good as convicted tomorrow, if the cuckoos don't get me the next night. Likewise, if people here decide to vote me out instead of you, then you'll know that I was speaking the truth about my allegiance all along, and suspicions will turn to you and your defenders. Either way, truth will prevail sooner or later.
  13. I voted for Ellen to voice out my opinion and not to sound a hypocrite saying we should vote. I didn't expect people to follow my vote, I just wanted to get the ball rolling. All this time I've been ready to change my vote if some better name would come up, but since the only other option right now is myself, I naturally won't do it. Well look at the pot calling the kettle black! You have no idea if I'm insane or not, yet here you are voting me too. Where's your evidence, Miss Hypocrite? And who is this "she" you're talking about? I can show you my sausage if these flexing muscles o' mine aren't enough to convince you of my manlihood.
  14. I'm not trying to rally people behind me, though, just rally them to vote in general. At this point we don't really know anything, but we should still vote out those who we feel could be insane. This Game of Life against the bad guys isn't won by not doing anything. We have to start voting people out or the insane will win for sure, and I'd like it to be sooner than later. Get them before they get you, that's my motto.
  15. I played this game through as well, and although I really liked it, I didn't love it as much as you apparently do. There are things that are arguably the best in the series (like the graphics and the main characters), but also many flaws that mostly have to do with deviating the "JRPG"-norm. I also started to miss exploration and NPC-interaction by the end, when there was nothing to do but to fight fight fight and run run run. FF XIII is what I'd call a "turn-based action JRPG", if that makes any sense. You always have the sense of hurry as you play the game, the cutscenes are plenty but short, and there's no real breathers at any point. That's why many people miss explorable, battle-free towns to visit in this game - they want a breather from the battles and a chance to explore the world in the game on their own. The main flaw I see with this game is that it holds the player in a leash too tightly. The developers have created a very balanced playing experience that never feels too easy or too difficult, but that comes at the cost of freedom. The battle and char development systems are spoon-fed to you in bite-sized chunks, you learn more about the characters in flashbacks that take place at regular intervals, and you can't really deviate from your given path. The worst thing is, it's still as long as other JRPGs, as it took me a good 60 hours to play through. It would've been much more enjoyable if they've cut the length of the corridor-like dungeons, even if the battle system in itself was very fast-paced. So yeah, FF XIII was a great experience, but they could've done so much more with it. It really did lack depth on the gameplay aspect.
  16. I'm trying to rally you people to vote, not to cower in fear. It'd really be sad and pathetic if you guys would turn on me for that, but I can't help it if you do.
  17. You really are a bunch of headless chickens, aren't you? I'm just playing this Game of Life with what I'm given. I can with no problem admit that I do not know at all whether Ellen is sane or not, but I'm not so foolish as to believe that the insane ones will suddenly reveal themselves to us. Ellen is still suspicious to me, and clinging to my every word will not make me change my vote. If you have any trace of logic in you, you'd understand that a person wishing to hide (like the insane do) would not go about throwing accusations and starting votes against people. Remember that the insane ones know who's on their side, they can plan and strategize and act covert - we don't have that luxury. I may be rash, but that's the only way to show the insane ones that I'm not afraid of them, that I'm willing to pull them out even if it means risking innocent lives (even myself). You can vote me all you want, I dare you, but that'll just show what fools you are to the insane ones, and they'll continue plucking you out one by one (or three by three, like last night) while you cower in fear, waiting for some miraculous evidence to fall into your laps. And don't forget that there will be consequences for not getting a conviction. I know these Games of Life well enough to know that it won't be anything good for us sane ones. There, I hope I've managed to smack some sense into you panic-ridden hens. Wouldn't that be way too obvious? If I were insane, I wouldn't be that moronic. I am certainly not scheming anything with Shirley and Brian, my vote was my own and they decided to follow it with no better option at hand. I have no idea if they are insane or not, but I certainly hope they aren't and that Ellen would be. I'd hate to vote out an innocent person, but like I've repeatedly said, there's no other way for us to get rid of the insane ones than to take a chance.
  18. I have stated my reasons, and if they're not enough for you, then I can't help you. You are free to just sit down and wait for someone to chop/shoot/stab/choke you, but don't blame me for not doing the same.
  19. I know Ellen looks quite masculine, but it certainly doesn't make you look any saner if you keep calling her "him". We are using the only weapon we are given to fight back the crazies on this island. If you don't want us to use it, then you clearly are insane yourself. Three sane people died last night. More will surely die on the following nights. Waiting will not achieve us anything.
  20. You are right, it's simpler than licensed sets, but you have to realize that the target group is different as well. Kids move through phases with their LEGO building habits, from Duplo to City or Castle and then onto more action-filled themes like Atlantis and Bionicle, sometimes followed by the more complex themes like Technic, and finally entering the Dark Ages from which they may or may not recover to become AFOLs who are often more interested in their own creations and merely see sets as inspiration and supply for parts. This isn't how it goes for everybody, of course, but I'd say in most cases it's like this. So yeah, different target age group, different design in sets. I'm sure we'll get an adult-oriented exclusive like the MMV for this theme sooner or later, too, though.
  21. You've been on my case the whole day, haven't you? I thought I already explained myself to you: I was just defending a long-time colleague from a lynch mob formed by total strangers. On retrospective, the lynch mob was right, but how the heck could I have know that? You can suspect me all you want, but I'm sane despite some flaws in my personality. Anyway, I'm going to vote now, and I'm basing this vote on the person staying silent throughout the day even though she is usually highly talkative in these Games of Life. Whoops, was that metagaming I did just there? Vote: Ellen Allison/Eskallon
  22. I didn't, but on the other hand I didn't really understand that they were talking about the native inhabitants before they realized that the statues had only one head. However, I guessed the statues would spring to life way before that. That reminded me of the library episode in Season 4 in which River Song first appeared, maybe too much so. Seeing so many plot-devices recycled was a little off-putting for me.
  23. Chillax, gramps. I'm not digging your grave... yet. If you've really a veteran player of The Game of Life, then you should know better than to expect people to provide you with concrete, warranted evidence about anything. That's just not how this works, we just have to make a guess and cross our fingers. So, throw some names, people, and I'll see how they match my suspicions.
  24. Let's remind ourselves that it's in the crazies' best interest not to vote anybody out, so of course they will try to talk us out of it. My suspicions towards Bill Campbell are only growing, since at the first mention of his name he immediately jumped to defend himself. Does anyone back up my suspicions enough for us to vote for him?
  25. I just noticed while searching for a review for King Leo's Castle that in the list it links to a review of the newer King's Castle (which isn't mentioned in the list). Could you fix this, perhaps? Thanksies!
