I'm currently reading through one of my teenage's favorite fantasy series, the Wheel of Time, this time in English. I'm now in the middle of the third book, Dragon Reborn. The Finnish translation I read when I was a teen divided each English book into two or three translated books, and then I got to Book 21 (which was the latter half of the English Book Nine). The series is still not complete, though, with three more books still to be published, so I'm hoping to endure twelve more brick-sized books in order to finally get to the ending of this book series I started reading about ten years ago.

LEGO Prince of Persia Month - the Eurobricks Contest
Sandy replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
As I've now entered an entry to the Persian Version category, I noticed how the rules stated the entry must have one paragraph of description, but my entry has not only that but also a story for flavor as well. So, does the rule mean only one paragraph, or are more paragraphs than one allowed? Mind you that I only have one paragraph describing the actual set while the story is only there to set the mood. I will take out the story if it causes my entry to be disqualified, of course. -
~*Hippogriff Palace*~ Persian Version of 7419 Dragon Fortress As soon as I saw this contest category, I knew I had to make a Persian version out of my absolute favorite set: Dragon Fortress from the Orient Expedition theme. Since I also have the Scorpion Palace from the same theme but no actual Prince of Persia sets, my contest entry became somewhat an amalgamation of the two Orient Expedition sets. Despite of that, I put my greatest effort to the set to make it both alike to the original yet as Persian as possible. The adventures of the brave elephant tamer Jamal Thunder lead him and his companions - the shah's daughter Pipirzine and the astrologer Kilrad - to the mysterious palace of the Hippogriff Sultan hidden far across the deserts of Persia. There they encountered a beautiful slave dancer called Djinnili who promised to guide them to the secret vault of the Sultan. But as the adventurers infiltrated the palace, guards rushed in to stop them. Had Djinnili betrayed them? If it weren't for Jamal Thunder's masterful skills with the scimitar, the guards would have surely butchered all of them. But the dangers were far from over, for next the adventurers came face to face with Samir the Sinister, a notorious hook-handed hassassin who had been tracing Jamal Thunder under the orders of Pipirzine's father, the shah. It turned out that Samir had allied himself with the Sultan and told him of the adventurers' presence. Her honor restored, Djinnili helped Jamal and the others escape Samir. But the worse was still to come: guarding the Hippogriff Sultan's treasure was a terrible living statue of his ancestor riding on a real hippogriff. Only with Jamal Thunder's bravery, Pipirzine's quick wits and Kilrad's sagaciousness, the adventurers got their hands on the legendary Shield of Ages, a treasure long coveted by the shah himself but kept hidden by the Hippogriff Sultan. With it in hands, Jamal Thunder could finally face the vicious shah who had once dethroned Jamal's father, and regain his place as the rightful ruler of Persia.

Haha, now I really hope I'm right about Ian, because if I'm not, I'll be so lynched tomorrow (unless either of the killers get me first). ...

I'll send them flowers. Vote: Ian Denton/iamded

Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Night 1
Sandy replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
*Sandine dances in again* Why aren't heads rolling yet? I promised not to stop dancing until the Nizam are dead, but my feet are getting a bit sore already... *dancity dancity* -
You can scrap my theory. The most logical reason for Wyatt voting out Leo was to take out a babbler. Looking back on the "crazy list" Leo so conveniently handed at us, it's obvious he tried to divert attention to me as well as Samantha, Brian and Ron, which makes those three unlikely to be allied with Leo. Also, Brian listed his suspects yesterday, which were Leo, Wyatt and Zane, and since two of them really turned out to be insane, I'd trust Brian to be sane himself (not sure about Zane's alliance, though). Then, looking at the list of those who didn't vote for Leo at all, it includes Samantha, Ian and Deborah, all of who belong to the flight crew. I can't believe all of them are insane (because I'd then lose all my trust in airline companies as employers), but more than likely at least one of them is, since we know there's likely at least two insanes left. And I already took out Samantha from my list of suspects above, so it's either Ian or Deborah who's most likely to be insane. So, based on these calculations, I'd say we vote out one of the two once the time to vote comes. My personal suspicions lean heavily on Ian Denton, based on his silence during our time here. What do the rest of you think?

Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Day 1
Sandy replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, my cats also dance, and they're so cutesy-wootesy that no one can resist giving them money. Aha, so you must be a Nizam yourself! Die!!! -
Uh, what? We've only voted out one person during this whole time, and I only went with the flow with the voting. So don't you try to raise me on any pedestal, kiddo.

REVIEW: Portal of Atlantis 8078
Sandy replied to daoudbazaar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A must-have set for me! Gonna get it sooner or later. I didn't even think there would be furniture or even interior included in the building, but that was a really pleasant surprise. It's also good to get most of the Atlantis figs from one set (aside from the Manta Warrior, which comes in an impulse set anyway). I'll certainly pay the hefty price gladly for getting that many figs and rare parts (especially the black Belville archs, the golden gates and all of the Atlantis discs). Thanks for the wonderful review! -
Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Day 1
Sandy replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
*Sandine dances alluringly to the set* I have arrived! See me dance! *dancity dancity dancity* I have to say I suspect each and every one of you for being a filthy Nizam, and will not stop dancing until last of the sleazebags are dead. Even if I am killed, I shall dance in your dreams and make you fear going to sleep! Die Nizaaaaaam!!! *Sandine dances away* -
Yay, I won me some Jake Gyllenhaal tastiness! Thanksies to all the voters, and of course Shadows for organizing this fun little competition. I have to say my entry is a fine example of what showing a little skin will accomplish for a woman.

Yeah, another cuckoo down, and nobody else got hurt this night. Good move, Ricardo. It was obviously wise for you to carry that humongous axe with you. But where did you even pull it? Wait, I don't wanna know... It was very odd that Wyatt Fandorski voted for Leo yesterday, since they were both insane. Either he must've known he was going to get convicted, or perhaps there are two "camps" of insanes. Now that'd be just crazy, wouldn't it? Right now my eyes shift to those who voted yesterday after the conviction was reached. Ellen and Ricardo, why were you in such a hurry to vote for Leo even though he was already convicted? Did you know about his alliance? I don't know, but I have this nagging feeling at the back of my head that the maneuver Ricardo pulled was some extravagant stunt to make him look innocent. But that would mean there'd be still three insanes left among us, and that seems a bit much. I guess I'm just overthinking this situation... But yeah, I'm in high hopes we'll soon nail the remaining insane ones and get away from this hellhole.

Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Rules and Players
Sandy replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'd say Shadows has totally lost it, if this concept wasn't so damn brilliant! I am Sandine, an exotic dancer and a great lover of Purrsian cats. Call me the Crazy Persian Cat Lady if you will, I take no offense from that. I only dance for the rich and famous, but the filthy Nizam's will only get a dagger through their heart from me. Come and dance with me! One question about the rules: can we target ourselves? -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Sandy replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Loved Helen McCrory's outfit in this latest episode, at least. The rest of it was quite conventional Doctor Who fare, entertaining but nothing special in itself. Based on the previous "alienification" of folklore monsters like werewolves in older episodes, I knew from the get-go that the "vampires" would turn out to be yet another alien race taking refuge on Earth. The next episode certainly looks different and very creepy, but like always, it's best to wait next week before making a judgment. -

Dystopia - Confirmation and Discussion
Sandy replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
People have been voted out for much more trivial reasons in past Mafia games, so you shouldn't feel bad. It's just the nature of this game. -
But they aren't really motives at all, if you think about how this Game of Life is played. The insane ones could be practically anybody, and personal relationships and arguments have nothing to do with who kills who. It's more about who's a threat, who could expose the insane ones, who has abilities that work against the insanes etc. Those are some of the motives the insanes most likely have. You can't really draw direct conclusions from two people arguing or what someone's profession is. It just doesn't work that way.

A nice idea, but since magic is quite commonplace in this fantasy world, I don't think Witch Hunters really fit the picture. Just to give you guys a status update, I'm in the process of adding text and special effects into the photos taken for the next chapter, so it should be up tomorrow or the day after it, depending on my mood. Sorry for the delay, if somebody has been waiting for it, I know I haven't been able to stick with the one comic per month schedule I planned...

Dystopia - Confirmation and Discussion
Sandy replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
In the last Mafia game, the host was miffed that the players didn't start voting after 24 hours because he hadn't announced it. Just a funny paradoxic coincidence... -
Yeah, because of this I find it somewhat improbable that Leo is one of the insanes. On the other hand, they might just be unlucky to have a loose cannon like him on their side (no offense, Leo). But until a more convincing name comes up, I'll have to live as I preach, and vote: Leo Nathans/The Legonater.

Many great ones, but I wanted to vote originality over anything else, so my vote goes to: Skalldyr and his adorable waterpipe suckling crab!

Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: SIGNUP!
Sandy replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sounds helluva confusing, but fun! Sign me in, for sure. I'm mostly confused about the "up to 50 people can post in this topic once" part, since the same line is written in two topics already. So to which topic do the 50 people post once into, exactly? -
All those who are not in the army are civilians, queens and wizards included. Of course, neither term is actually medieval, so it's harder to make the division in that case...

Guess what? You are making zero sense. Zero, I say! :wacky: Why would I want to get back at Brian by killing his mistress? Or why would he want to get back at me? What have we done to each other during these four days in here? And how could have Samantha or Ron crashed our helicopter when they were nowhere near it? And what on earth do any of these "vengeances" have to do with this Game of Life? You're out of your mind...
