  1. And that's everybody! Thank you for the hasty confirmation (and for making me read through 7 pages of chatter that really should belong to the day topics once the game starts ). It looks like I have many co-tutors in this topic. Your input is very much appreciated, badboy, WhiteFang, Quarryman, Rick and the rest. It seems we have a wild class of students here, so I'll need all the help I can get to keep them in check. With everybody accounted for, I will post the Day One topic later today. Please hold back on the in-character posts until then, please. And thanks for all the questions I've gotten through private messages. Keep them coming, if you're still not certain of some element in this game - that's what I'm here for.
  2. Carrots, sausages, fresh milk... There's no breakfast like what Spring Haven has to offer!
  3. Anyone up for guessing what the last names of the characters are related to?
  4. This topic is for discussing the first-ever Mafia School game: Escape From Isla Paradisa. Sixteen enthusiastic and promising students have been elected to participate in this game, but before that you need to confirm that you are still eager to play. The first day phase of the game will begin as soon as possible after all 16 have confirmed their participation. Here are the list of rules to this game, please read them through carefully before you post anything: 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Mafia. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Mafia, while the Mafia needs to outnumber the Town. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. All players will shortly receive a private message that details their characters and roles. The first thing to remember is that if you get a character with a night action (ie. Mafia Goon, Doctor or Cop), do not reveal it. As the rules stated, you should not "play the game" (ie. theorize, accuse, reveal anything etc.) publicly outside the day threads - not even in this thread here. If you have questions about your character or role, please send me a private message. Here is the list of players and their respective characters: Paradisa Holiday Romance Resort Staff Claudia Toscana, the Lifeguard (Captain Tamamono) Danielle Barrie, the Janitor (Dan the Brickman) Dreo Jacmel, the Bartender (dr jones) Geert Rotterdam, the Personal Trainer (Gregorovich) Raquel Benito Juarez, the Maid (Raven Brickroft) Ravi Bombay, the Chef (RvB) Paradisa Holiday Romance Resort Guests Bridget Darwin (Brickdoctor) Casey Roswell (Capt. 5. Oh, goody! If you give me a great big one, Mr. Fox, I'll let you sniff my flower.
  6. I know that all too well... As for me, I'm hungry for some long, thick, juicy carrot. Mmmm....
  7. Morning, everyone! Yes, morning to you too, Benji, you can stop sniffing my butt now. I have to say I feel just horrible about this situation. Here we are, losing our beloved friends one by one to the demons who dwell in the forest around us, and our only choice is to lynch even more of our friends in hopes of finding whoever is causing this. Couldn't the evil-doers just 'fess up so we could have this over and done with by lunch? Anyone?
  8. SIGN-UPS ARE NOW CLOSED! First of all, thanks for all of you enthusiastic people who signed up. Sorry I couldn't let you all in, but if you did not make the cut, please do not be discouraged. You can still follow the game and learn about it in the process, so you're ready when the next Mafia School game comes up. Here is the list of accepted players: 1. Baylego 2. Brickdoctor 3. Captain Tamamono 4. Capt. Redblade 5. CommanderFox 6. Cutlass Iz 7. Dan the Brickman 8. dr jones 9. Euvor 10. Gregorovich 11. KartoffelViking 12. KielDaMan 13. Pandora 14. Raven Brickroft 15. RvB 16. smittyfan I expect that you all give the game your full attention, because I had to cut twelve other candidates who would've loved to play in this game in your stead. Those of you who did not make it into the game are reserves in case a player drops out. I will contact you in the order you signed up if you are needed. As for our 16 players, you will receive a private message later today that tells you the role you are playing. After receiving your private message, please confirm that you are still able to play in the Confirmation & Discussion topic, which is also published today. Thanks for the wealth of sign-ups, everybody! I'm thrilled to see so many fresh faces to this part of the boards eager to play and learn this wonderful game called Mafia.
  9. Thank you, badboy. These sign-ups will close tomorrow, and I'll then announce the list of players (and reserves in case somebody drops out).
  10. Oh my, demons! What a dreadful business! Miss Brigit Bunny is present. I'm the innocent one out of the Bunny Sisters, mind you. We all know what they say about seamstresses, dear Bristol.
  11. Better yet, let's lynch him right now. -------------- Vote: Shadeaux Vote Tally: Shadeaux: 1 Shadeaux has been convicted. "Shadeaux stood at the deck of the ferry, gazing at the beautiful Isla Paradisa looming ahead. This would surely be a vacation of a lifetime for him. Maybe he would even get a chance to talk to a woman that wasn't his mother for once! Suddenly he felt a forceful push on his back, and he fell over the railing. Not knowing how to swim, Shadeaux drowned in the crystal-clear waters of the South Pacific, and everybody forgot he had ever even been on the ferry." Shadeaux was revealed to be a Fraud. Now let's move on.
  12. What an amazing contest, and fabulous prizes! It's certainly more motivating for everybody to participate since the prizes aren't sets that one might already have. I'll definitely take part in this, and I already have a fantastic idea for a Pharaoh's Quest entry (I coincidentally just bought some PQ sets that'll come in handy). I just hope nobody else gets the same idea, though... Thanks for organizing this! These contests sure are fun!
  13. And I only resurrected one person, Shadows. Beatrice's "resurrection" was a ruse.
  14. I hope I get to play as a cat. ...Yeah.
  15. Welcome to the sign-ups of the very first Mafia School game: Escape From Isla Paradisa. This game, like all future Mafia School games, is open to all members of Eurobricks who have not yet participated in any of the Mafia games here (not counting Shadow's Massacre games). This game is meant for learning the ropes of how Mafia games works, exactly. Only basic night actions are used, and the game follows the freshly released EB Standard Rules. I will act as your host and mentor, giving you tips and advice throughout the game, and I will gladly answer any questions you might have to my best ability. I of course will not be taking any sides, though. Paradisa Mafia is a real Mafia experience, and those who get in it should play for the win. After the game is over, all participants who have showed that they've understood the basics of Mafia games will be allowed to join the advanced games (which from now on will not be open to beginners anymore). In order to participate to this game, read through the "brochure" below and then post your willingness to play into this topic. There are only 16 open spots, so don't hesitate if you are interested! Sign-ups will remain open until the end of this week, after which I will choose the most enthusiastic entrants. Take note that I have a list of people who have played in a Mafia game before, so I will know if you're not eligible to be a student of Mafia School. All newcomers, welcome aboard! But there is a snake in the paradise...
  16. In a matter of hours, in fact. I was just caught up with perfecting the MOCs I've built for this game. Even though Paradisa Mafia will be a beginner game, it doesn't mean it will have simplistic presentation.
  17. Thanks for letting me in despite my indecisiveness. Care to explain what you want from this "bio"? Just a list of games and roles I've played, or a more detailed description of how I did in each of the games?
  18. Oh, what the hell! Even though I have my own game to host at the same time, I just can't skip this one. I guess I just won't sleep or eat for the next month or so. Now, onto Hinckley's List of Absurd Demands: 1) I had quite a many Fabuland sets when I was a kid (the remains of which unfortunately lie in the hands of my nephews nowadays), but I distinctively remember that 3683 Amusement Park was the biggest of them, and thus my favorite. I also remember playing out murder mysteries with my Fabuland figs, but that's another story. 2) I definitely think you're way out line with your demands for this sign-up. I don't know if the others have lost their minds, because they're so blindly following your every whim, but I am not going to, because I am a human too and I will not be treated as a slave. 3) I won't be away from the internet, but I will be torn between this game and my hosting duties. But you know that already. I hope you're happy now.
  19. Am I the only one who has trouble taking this topic seriously? It's like saying "I'm not a fan of red, is there any way to remove it?" If you don't like some color of bricks, then don't use them in whatever you use LEGO for. Simple as that.
  20. Well, in my game professor flitwick played the role of the Herbalist, which also could produce plants that had powers. I thought it was pretty similar to your Gardener, but of course people get similar ideas sometimes. Thanks for crediting my game, nevertheless.
  21. I just bought the set yesterday, and my version of the figs came with yellow hands. I guess it's a later edition of the set I got or something like that...
  22. Congratulations, guys! I envy your prizes like I'd imagine everybody else do, so you better enjoy them.
  23. Late to the party, as always. Anyway, great job, my fellow Villagers! It's been quite a while since I've last won one of these games, but I'm glad we won in such a big group. I'd like to agree that this game was unbalanced towards the Village, but if we hadn't caught Zepher on Day One, things could've been very different. And it was about time for the good guys to win for a change. As for my part, I think I played well with what I was given. My night action was something I did not dare to reveal to anyone, having learned my lesson the hard way from Bloodbrick. Reviver is a powerful role, but I was glad it was a one-off ability so that I could easily defend myself against badboytje's claims of me also resurrecting Beatrice. It irritated me that Shadows was killed again so soon, but that was Hinck's fault, not mine. I told him to protect Shadows as a top priority, but he was just too damn suspicious. On the other hand, it showed he had learned his lesson as well. Here's my character profile: JimButcher, I have to congratulate you for creating an exquisite Mafia experience. I couldn't help noticing that you were at least slightly inspired by my Hogwarts Mafia with the roles, like the Gardener and the Thief. There was an interesting mixture of night actions and factions that left us guessing what you had come up with. Hinck, I trusted you this time for the same reason as I trusted you in Bloodbrick - no scum would ever be so passionate in public, and it would be nearly impossible to pretend to be hunting for scum as ferociously as you do. The downside is that I'm pretty sure I can tell when you're playing a scum for real. I'm really glad you didn't get me killed this time around, anyway. To sum it up: great game, great victory, great fun! It's me and Hinck up next as hosts, it seems.
  24. Orient Bazaar never came to Finland either. I had to order it through Bricklink. Loved all the perfume bottles and gold round plates it containted.
  25. It's been almost two years since my first post to this topic, and my minifig collection has grown to 733, according to Brickset. The three series of collectable minifigs alone have grown the amount by 48 figs. And that's only the whole minifigs, not taking into account the dozens of separate head and torso pieces I've been buying from Bricklink during the past year.
