  1. The same two or three different Belville sets have been on the market for a couple of years now, with nothing new for the line. It's as if TLG has forgotten it's girl audience, but I'm glad it isn't so, with the new girl-oriented theme coming up next year. I personally can't wait to see how it is! Belville has had some amazing parts in rare colors that I'd love to have, but the scale and the ugly figs did not make me want to buy entire sets. LEGO's everlasting charm is in the pieces that all fit together, and nothing can ever replace minifigs as the standard figure to play with. That's where Belville went wrong to begin with.
  2. Hey,what can I say? I'm only the most eligible bachelorette in this village. The men want me, the women want to be me, and that gets them to open up to me, I suppose.
  3. What, you prefer to hide in the shadows, then? I'm only conveying what I've been told. I did not know you had already got into an agreement with Edgar - how would I know something like that?! But do you admit being a blocker, then? If you are loyal to our Village, then I am truly sorry for exposing you, but all you've said and done point that you are exactly the opposite. So please tell us your version of what happened last night. There's already huge targets on my, Edgar's and Horace's backs, so come join the contest of who bites the bullet first out of the four of us.
  4. Haitian. Anyway, Day Two of this game is now up, and as you can see from the list of players, I'm giving the players who've been removed from the game either a "Passed" or a "Failed" mark, based on their performance and how well they understood the basics of the game. All those who will have "passed" will then be able to sign into the more advanced games. RvB didn't fail because he was voted out first, but for showing bad sportmanship and not fully comprehending the mechanics of this game. Hope he is the only one getting that score out of you lot.
  5. Okay, since I was the one who delivered you the information about the orgy night-time activity at Edgar's, I'm going to have to take responsibility in acting based on this info, and vote: Lauren Lamb/Zepher. Why? Because my source said she was one of the people targetting Edgar last night, and apparently not with good intentions. She seems to be a blocker, and why would a Villager want to block the only one who can stop the arsonist? But this is all second-hand (or third-hand) information I'm passing, so take it with a grain of salt. I just don't think we have anything else to go on from.
  6. As dawn broke, the screams of the convicted chef Ravi Bombay subsided. Since the chef wasn't around to do his daily chores anymore, setting up the breakfast buffet was left to the bartender Dreo Jacmel, while the quiet maid Raquel Benito Juarez mopped up the dining room. They both worked in silence, as if even a whisper could make the island explode. Soon the remaining members of the staff - the lifeguard Claudia Toscana, the janitor Danielle Barrie and the personal trainer Geert Rotterdam - arrived to the morning briefing. However, with Sunday dead and Mr. Crusoe occupied upstairs, there was nobody to brief them, so they just drank their morning coffee. Then the guests started coming in. Each time the door opened, everybody turned to see who it was. Who would be the unlucky sod who did not live through the night? But as the last of the guests walked in, they all realized that nobody had died. Could it be that they had hit the jackpot on the first day and convicted the murderer? Had the chef worked alone after all, despite what the note said? Thinking that their vacation could now continue, the exhilarated group ran outside. They felt like the nightmare was over before it had even started. Then Mr. Crusoe came out, wiping his knife to a bloody rag. He had heard the laughter and gleeful chatter of the crowd, and thought was a bunch of blasted idiots he was dealing with. He had just spent the night torturing a man to death, and he wasn't going to listen anyone be happy about it. Mr. Crusoe shouted everybody to shut up and listen to him. The smiles on everybody's faces quickly faded as they learned that Ravi Bombay had most definitely been an innocent member of the Town, no doubt about it. So the killer - or killers - were still out there, they had just been unlucky in catching a victim last night. The disgruntled Mr. Crusoe turned his back on the crowd, saying he needed some sleep after spending the night awake. He would return to them at noon to start another voting. ~*~*~*~*~*~ The Rules: 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Mafia. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Mafia, while the Mafia needs to outnumber the Town. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. The Cast: Claudia Toscana, the Lifeguard (Captain Tamamono) Danielle Barrie, the Janitor (Dan the Brickman) Dreo Jacmel, the Bartender (dr jones) Geert Rotterdam, the Personal Trainer (Gregorovich) Raquel Benito Juarez, the Maid (Raven Brickroft) Bridget Darwin (Brickdoctor) Casey Roswell (Capt. Redblade) Colette LeMans (KielDaMan) Cruz Fortaleza (CommanderFox) Erin Ennis (Euvor) Keith Worthing (KartoffelViking) Kylan Ise (Cutlass Iz) Panda Panjin (Pandora) Siegmund Freiburg (smittyfan) Vanya Livny (Baylego) The Deceased: Ravi Bombay, the Chef (RvB) - Town - convicted on Day One - Failed ~*~*~*~*~*~ The voting starts 24 hours from now. There are 15 players in the game, so it takes 8 votes to convict a person.
  7. All the characters were dealt randomly to the players. In case somebody didn't notice, there's an equal amount of male and female characters in this game, so there was bound to be some genderbending involved. Day Two coming right up!
  8. I just heard it from someone who probably heard it from another person. It could be a ruse, but since we only had one death last night (which is speculated to be caused by a neutral arsonist), it might very well be that Edgar was targetted for a kill, but then someone protected him. *shrugs* That's quite a change of tone from yesterday...
  9. Yes, I was. The life of a virgin is not easy, you know? That's the reason I overslept, I guess. I can't fathom why I was called out for that... Anyway, we got lucky last evening when the demon attacked. It's evident we won't be as lucky tonight, so we need to make a conviction, as painful as it is.
  10. Why are everybody staring at me? I really did oversleep, that's all! But poor trashy bear, what an awful way to go! He even got a magical device, but unfortunately it was dysfunctional. I wonder how many others have similar devices...? Oh, I overheard that Edgar Elephant had many visitors last night. Lucky he's still with us, though.
  11. Ummm, I did that? Honestly, I didn't even notice... But thanks for the great compliments, everybody! And I forgot to say this, but thank you RvB for playing! I'm sorry you had to ruin your chances of graduating from Mafia School with this childish behavior. Creating another account just to defend yourself?! Come on! But the game continues without you. Stay tuned for Day Two!
  12. Please check the end of the Day One topic for the spine-chilling conclusion for the day as well as important instructions for the night phase. Day Two will be up 48 hours from now.
  13. Like I explained when the voting began, you cannot take back votes once the conviction is reached. Nine votes were cast, so a conviction was made, and that ended the day. The conclusion of Day One and an explanation to the night phase will be up later today.
  14. Vote Tally: Geert Rotterdam/Gregorovich: 5 (penalty for editing) Ravi Bombay/RvB: 10 (KielDaMan, Baylego, Brickdoctor, Pandora, CommanderFox, Cutlass Iz, Dan the Brickman, dr jones, Captain Tamamono, Gregorovich) Raquel Benito Juarez/Raven Brickroft: 5 (penalty for not making a post on Day One) Ravi Bombay/RvB has been convicted. The crowd gathered around the helpless chef. He thought about fleeing inside the lodge and locking himself into the kitchen that had been his pride for years now, but then a hand clutched his shoulder firmly. The decision had been made, and Ravi Bombay was chosen to be "interrogated" by Mr. Crusoe. Still filled with rage over the death of Sunday, Mr. Crusoe felt no mercy. It was time to begin. The night fell upon Isla Paradisa accompanied with screams of pain. ~*~*~*~*~*~ The first day phase has ended, RvB has been removed from the game, and we now enter the night phase. There are three types of roles with a night action in this game: the several Mafia goons will now together choose one of the other players to kill, while the Town has the protecting Doctor and the investigating Cop on their side. The rest of the players have no night actions, so they don't need to do anything during the night phase. Please send in your night actions now by replying to the PM where you got your character profile. The night actions should be sent in 24 hours from now, and the night phase will last a total of 48 hours, after which I will post the topic for Day Two. You will then learn the truth about today's conviction as well as the player who might've been killed during the night. If you have more questions about the night phase, please ask them through a private message, thank you!
  15. Hate to break it to you, but using the players' initials is a common way of naming the characters in EB Mafia games. The answer I was looking for is that each character has a specific nationality. The first names are used in the respective countries (with the exception of Panda, which is more of a nickname anyway), and the family names are all cities or locations in each country.
  16. Vote tally: Geert Rotterdam/Gregorovich: 5 (penalty for editing his post)
  17. The voting has now begun in the Day topic, and the game is on full speed. You can read further instructions for voting from the Day topic as well.
  18. The situation was as Mr. Crusoe had feared: after ten years hiding on this tropical paradise, he had finally been found. He now had to face the consequences of betraying the Mafia and running off with all of its money. He thought he had planned it all so perfectly, but it seemed the world was just too small of a place. Now Sunday was dead, the only boat in the whole island had been sunk, and the emergency radio had been smashed to pieces - all in one night. There was now no way out of the island or contacting the world outside. Worse yet, Mr. Crusoe had no idea who was behind it all. The Mafia goons must've been hiding among the newly arrived guests, but he did not dare to take out the option that some of his staff were culprits as well. But those bastards had made serious mistake by murdering Sunday. He would surely not give up without a fight! Noon came, and Mr. Crusoe gathered everyone back at the Magnolia Lodge. He had figured out a plan. Each day at noon the crowd would pick one person they thought was the most suspicious, and Mr. Crusoe would use the tricks he learned during his own Mafia career to pry the truth out of that person. He knew that there was no way the people would voluntarily give themselves up for torture, so doing the selection through a lynch mob was the only option. Mr. Crusoe told the truth about his past as well as his plans to the crowd. After the initial shock they agreed that this was the best course of action in a mad situation like this. Mr. Crusoe left the crowd to vote by themselves. He had no trust in anyone, so it was all the same to him who was selected. He just said the crowd needed to reach a majority decision before sunset. Faced with a difficult choice, the staff and the guests of Paradisa Holiday Romance Resort started discussing the options. ~*~*~*~*~*~ VOTING STARTS NOW. You have a maximum of 48 hours to reach a conviction. Everybody can only vote for one person at a time, and you cannot vote for yourself. To be convicted, one person needs to have 9 votes on them, because there are 16 players in the game, and nine forms a majority. Once the majority has been reached, the conviction is final and you cannot change your votes anymore. We will then move on to the first night phase. The convicted person will be removed from the game, and their allegiance to either Town or Mafia will be revealed at the start of Day 2. To vote, use the following format in bold: vote: character's name/player's name. If you change your mind before a conviction is made, you can take back your vote with the following format in bold: unvote: character's name/player's name. You must unvote the first person before you can vote for another one. If you still have questions about voting, please send me a private message.
  19. I'm sorry, but they're my flowers. I'm the florist in this town! Sure, I might buy them from you (and sell them on with a hefty profit), but once they've exchanged hands, they're mine. And they're starting to reek. Maybe it's because of you. I really do not want to take a chance with getting a penalty for not convicting someone, but I've done my duty and voted, so all I can do is hope the rest of you vote as well. The trashy raccoon is right, we Villagers need to act in order to get somewhere. We cannot just wallow in self-pity as the Demon Legionnaires pick us off one by one!
  20. I thought I made it very clear that everybody should read the rules carefully. I'm now forced to give everybody your first homework: read the rules again. It doesn't matter if you already know them by heart, read them again. RvB and Capt. Redblade, I will let you off the hook for editing this time since it's only the beginning of Day One, but from now on it should be crystal-clear that you may not edit your posts in Day topics. The next offender will get the 5-vote penalty once the voting begins (in 5 and a half hours). Lecture over! You are correct, it is alright for you to strike text out like that in-game, but out-of-character posts like "Captain Tamamono's character is a chic Italian chick, don't you think?" should be avoided.
  21. Oh, the sheer irony of things... Anyway, I will gladly unvote Miss Hippo if a more viable name comes up. But I will vote. We as a public will not know anything if we do not vote people out. We don't even know what type of killers there are aside the Demon Legionnaires. I used to think our adorable community was free of evil and corruption, but recent events have turned that conception to it's head. Even the flowers here have started to smell foul...
  22. Isla Paradisa. A recluse tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific. The only settlement on the island is the Paradisa Holiday Romance Resort, founded by a man known simply as Mr. Crusoe. It is a single vacationer’s dream, a paradise cut off from the rest of the world, where you can concentrate on experiencing the thrills of a true holiday romance. The only connection to the rest of the world is a ferry that arrives every two weeks to switch out the visitors to new love-seekers. The guests stay at luxurious private bungalows scattered along the beach. The guests are taken care of by a highly talented staff hand-picked by Mr. Crusoe himself. The head of the staff and the hostess of the island is the lovely Sunday, Mr. Crusoe's mistress. The staff hold their base at the Magnolia Lodge that also includes a restaurant and a pool area for the guests. Mr. Crusoe himself is an elusive man, rarely seen by the visitors. He prefers the privacy of his rooftop office that has a view over the entire island. His office holds a collection of invaluable ancient artefacts from all around the world. The question that nobody dares to ask is how Mr. Crusoe came to possess such treasures. That is a secret only Mr. Crusoe knows, since he is careful not to let any nosey reporters set even a foot on Isla Paradisa. His past and true identity is a complete mystery. But in a twist of fate, that mystery is unraveled in the most horrible of ways. A fresh batch of vacationers had just arrived on Isla Paradisa. They spent their first day getting accomodated and relaxing each in their own way. Some basked in the sun, some went for a swim, some went surfing, some exercised, and some enjoyed a free drink or two. Or twenty. It was an uneventful day, and everybody went to bed early to recover from the long trip. At the dead of the night, a chilling breeze swept across the island, and people tossed and turned in their beds. It was an omen of what was yet to come. Mr. Crusoe woke up the following day only to find the other side of the bed empty and his lover Sunday gone. He figured she had just went down to make some coffee for them. He then went over to the great window to gaze at the island that had been his home for the past ten years. And that is when the dream turned into a nightmare. The staff gathered to the pool of the Magnolia Lodge where Mr. Crusoe wept in front of the corpse of his lover, Sunday. She had been skewered into a palm tree with a spear. There was a note hanging from the body. Soon the guests arrived to the Magnolia Lodge for a breakfast, and they became witnesses of the tragedy as well. Fear and panic struck the crowd as they discussed the horrendous murder. Had anybody seen anything? Was there somebody else on this island? Or was the killer hiding among them? Mr. Crusoe's despair had turned into anger. He demanded everyone's attention and waved the note left on his lover's corpse in front of them. "To the one calling himself Mr. Crusoe. My men will kill a person every night until you return what you stole. - An Old Friend" The furious Mr. Crusoe demanded to know which one of them did this. He said he would not give into threats, and that he would weed out every last killer even if it meant that innocents would die in the process. Before stomping back inside the lodge, he said he would speak to all of them again at noon, once he had gotten some time to think. The confused and panicked crowd were left on the yard to go over the situation. ~*~*~*~*~*~ The Rules: 1. You can discuss the opening of the day as the character you are playing. All questions and out-of-character posts should be posted to the Confirmation & Discussion topic. The voting starts 24 hours from now. There are 16 players in the game, so it takes 9 votes to convict someone.
  23. No reasoning? My reasoning is the exact same as yours when you voted for Edgar: I believe we should vote someone, and you are as good a person to start with as anybody. Adding to that, some of the things you said sound a little off to my long ears, like the following: Are you trying to start another bandwagon, now against me? For doing only what you yourself did in the first place? I did not say my vote against you is final at any point. I still haven't unvoted anyone today so I get to reconsider. Your attitude doesn't make me want to reconsider, though...
  24. After going through the votes placed on Edgar, and while I find the quick bandwagon highly suspicious, I also wonder why Edgar revealed as much as he did as soon as the votes started coming his way. He could very well be lying, but since there is also a chance he is telling the truth, I'd rather want we look into him and not vote him out yet. It's only Day One in this tragedy, we must not make a hasty decision this early. But since we need to convict someone to progress, I will vote: Helen Hippo/def. Please, we need to investigate Edgar tonight, not lynch him right off the bat.
  25. I too am surprised to see my friends and neighbours behave in such a way. I have absolutely no clue as to whether Edgar is innocent or not, but the speed of the bandwagon worries me greatly. Edgar has revealed that he has important information about our situation, so lynching him looks like a scummy thing to do. On the other hand, I do agree with voting against somebody. But why rush into voting, when there's still plenty of daytime left? Ganging up on somebody is an effective way of making them spill their beans, as is evident in the case of Edgar, but since there's a limitation to taking back our votes, we have to be extra careful to not make grave mistakes. I'm aware that not voting for Edgar right now makes me look as if I'm defending him (it's a damned if I do, damned if I don't situation, really), but I want to take a deep breath, sniff my flower and recollect my thoughts before casting my vote. Hope you don't mind.
