  1. OoC: Khorne, the twin axe can hit two enemies at the same time, it cannot hit one enemy twice. Sorry! I've changed your weapon of choice to the sword. EDIT: Sorry, I messed up. The results have been edited and can be found from the next page.
  2. "Yes, my dear spirits can be quite enthusiastic... As if I, the eternal witch of the bog, need any protection. Let me look at the boy..." The witch hops out of her hut with surprising elegance. She hovers over Bluto for a while, then smiles thinly. "Yes... The boy's fever has made him very weak indeed. At the brink of death, I'd say. But worry not, Baba has a cure. The question is, are you willing to pay the price?" Baba looks at the heroes with her gleaming owl eyes. "I shall tell you how to restore the boy back to health, as well as how to purify that fountain after you defeat the wyvern, but only if the boy stays with me. I will raise him well, but you must tell his family that they will never see him again. Yes, he will make a fine companion to me... as long as he lasts. These poor mortals... so fragile..." The witch waits for the party's response. "I hate braggers", the witch mutters and points her bony finger at Ranger Docken's intimidating hat. She casts a spell that weakens the hat's effect to only affect opponents lower than half of the ranger's level. However, Bartholomew's second arrow hits her for 22 damage, and the whack from Cinna's staff finishes the spirit altogether. Hoptet aims his strike at the remaining giant chicken leg, causing 3 damage. Thormanil hits the enemy for a further 22 damage, and Thothwick mugs it for only 12 damage (since he was using his weaker weapon from the back row for some reason) and receives 12 gold for it. With one weak enemy remaining, the rest of the battle will be played out automatically. As the battle draws to a close, Hoptet summons the Roots of Life to restore everyone back to full health. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! All party members gain half of a level of experience. A woman with piercing fiery eyes looks out of the opening at the front. "What in damnation?! I've got porridge all over my floor now, thanks to you people! And it will take the whole night for the hut to grow back its feet. Care to give me an explanation to your deeds, or should I just whisk you off to the demon realm for the trouble you've caused me?" The witch demands an answer from the party. What will they reply?
  4. The room at the end of the corridor contains a fireplace. A hulking figure carrying a great poleaxe is sitting in front of the flames. The light reflects on his intimidating metallic harness. Defiantly the party enters the room, and meets the dreaded jailor who stands up to oppose them. Half-man, half-metal, this pirate is not easily defeated as his fellows. But if the heroes wish to gain entrance to the jail cells, this is the obstacle they have to overcome. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemy: Pirate Jailor Type: Humanoid, Mechanic Level: 22 Health: 468/468 Ether: 6/6 Special I: Ethereal Cage – The Jailor spends one ether to trap the target into a magical cage that prevents it from taking an action for the duration of the battle unless the cage is broken by an elemental attack. The caged target will still take damage from all attacks, and if all heroes are caged the quest will fail. Special II: Roundhouse – Deals 11 damage to all opponents. Used only if all ether is depleted. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted.
  5. I have to say I don't agree with you. You guys didn't win a single battle in the quest, and specifically said that you'd want your spent items back. It's not fair if you get to keep both the new items and get back the items you've used. It's either or. Your time was wasted on that quest, yes, but you can only blame Sisco's computer on that. You are free to roleplay your character's birthdays however you like. I've always thought that outside the quests the time flows like in our world - that's why Ellaria is about seven months pregnant. The time difference in quests can be explained with skipping the travelling bits.
  6. If anyone has willingness to host a quest, right about now would be a good time to present me with your ideas. There's suddenly plenty of people without a quest, loitering in the Hall. Scheherazade needs to wax the floors so she wants them out.

  8. OoC: the effect of Bartholomew's hat will be changed after this battle to only affect enemies half of his level. Results of Round Eight of the Hut Battle: >Bartholomew vs. Red Dawn - Aim >Bartholomew vs. Red Dawn - Damage >Cinna uses a Grand Potion on herself >Hoptet nurtures Thormanil - Nurture More Thormanil vs. Giant Chicken Leg (Left) - Extra Critical Hit Thothwick vs. Giant Chicken Leg (Left) - Shield (Mug) The hastened Bartholomew takes a good aim at Red Dawn, dealing 5 damage. The spirit of morning then tries to attack Bartholomew back, but is intimidated by the spell on his hat. Cinna drinks one of her grand potions, restoring full health to herself. Hoptet nurtures Thormanil back to full health as well. The barbarian then assaults the remaining chicken leg, dealing 34 damage to it. Thothwick mugs the leg, dealing 35 damage and earning 35 gold. 9. Well, since you did not win the battle as far as I can see, you won't get experience out of it. It would not be fair to anyone if you did. I think the easiest solution is to return to the way your character was when the quest began, meaning that you do get your used items back. No, the Town Watch doesn't have a reputation system because it doesn't play a part in the "bigger picture" of things. I created Town Watch merely to chase after the Wolfgang leaders, but other QMs are of course free to take it further. No, there isn't. Eubric is a freeport with no laws or a governing system, so it's every man for themselves. The Town Watch was put together to make it safe to walk in the streets (although it's been doing a lousy job) and they do punish misbehaving citizens if they're caught, but they don't hold trials. The wealthy and powerful handle their businesses between themselves - if you cross someone influential, you might get their personal army after you. All religious and ideological groups have their own moral codes, but few even try to apply those codes to outsiders. This kind of a system is exactly why so many people turn to Heroica for help.

  11. Results of Round Two of the Mutant & Co Battle: Eric vs. Pirate Mutant - Frenzy >Ad-Hoh is petrified >Erdatcath vs. Pirate Tamer - Critical Hit Hybros vs. Pirate Mutant - Special Damage Christopher vs. Pesky Polly Pirate Mutant - Miss Maurice vs. Pirate Tamer - Damage The party is protected from receiving damage by Christopher's Sentinel for this round. Seeing his companion get petrified drives Eric into a bloody frenzy, during which he attacks all enemies. He causes 46 damage to the Pirate Tamer and Pesky Polly, leaving only a tuft of feathers behind, and thanks to the ice-elemental properties of Godricsleif combined with his encouraged status, an incredible 92 damage to the Pirate Mutant. Erdathcath follows swiftly, reducing the mutants health by a further 22 points. Clinging on to his life by a thread, the mutant casts the Curse of the Depths on Hybros as well, petrifying the petite rogue. Christopher's attack misses. The Pirate Tamer, infuriated by the loss of her pets, tries to attack Maurice but gets blocked by the sentinel-stance. Two enemies remain, with two of the heroes incapacitated. Red Dawn scrapes Cinna, causing 7 damage to the mage. Thormanil manages to hit the right leg for a whopping 34 damage, cutting it in half. The hut wobbles awkwardly on one leg for a while until the other leg gives in and crouches. The hut is on the ground now, but the left leg keeps on fighting. 13. Holy cheetahmonkeys, what is going on here? Bickering and whining do not belong to this game. You're supposed to have fun, dammit!
  14. In the future, concentrate on roleplaying your own character, and have some respect towards people who've built up their characters for months. When roleplaying in this sort of an open environment it is always important to discern what YOU know and what YOUR character knows. If your character wasn't there and nobody told him directly, then he has no way of knowing what happened. I hope that is clear to everybody now. You can write it. Since the quest is about time-travel anyway, you could just invent a time vortex sucking the party back to current time. Very sorry to hear about your computer troubles, Sisco. It was just bad luck it happened in the middle of hosting a quest... I know I would have a total nervous breakdown if I'd lose all my computer files...
  15. OoC: Moving on. Sorry if you don't like my choices for opponents, but the 24 hour time limit is up. I'm actually hoping to conclude this quest by the end of February, but it's up to you guys, of course. Results of Round One of the Mutant & Co Battle: >Eric uses Rum on Pirate Raider >Ad-Hoh (Fire) vs. Pirate Mutant - Special Damage >Erdatcath vs. Naughty Cheetah - Critical Hit Hybros vs. Naughty Cheetah - Critical Hit Christopher vs. Pirate Tamer - Shield (Sentinel) >Maurice uses Scroll of Sleep on Dr. Gioconda Pesky Polly - Free Hit against Eric The battle begins. Eric bribes the Pirate Raider to flee by offering one of his rum bottles. The pirate gladly accepts, and leaves the battle licking his lips. The mutated pirate casts the Curse of the Depths on Ad-Hoh, turning him into stone and thus making him unable to fight until the effect is removed. Erdathcath gets a good hit on Naughty Cheeta, dealing 22 damage. Hybros follows her attack with a swing of his scythe, causing 33 damage and thus slaying the monkey. Christopher takes the Sentinel-position, protecting the party from damage for the next round. Ignoring the pirates, Maurice puts Dr. Gioconda to sleep at the cost of one ether. The scientist will wake up in three rounds. Pesky Polly is not targetted, so it gets a chance to cause 3 damage to Eric. Three enemies remain. 16. Please take a moment to think about why you joined this game. If you joined just to collect imaginary stuff, then this is probably not the right game for you. However, if you joined to have a fun way to roleplay and pass the time, then getting everything you can as soon as possible shouldn't be your goal. Otherwise, good luck trying to powerplay in Heroica RPG.
  17. Skrall, Nothing would please me more than a night out with a gentleman. The gods know there has been very few of that kind of men in my life. We of the green skin have never had it easy, so we should stick together. At least you and I can meet as equals, without the stress of prejudice or the weight of the history on our shoulders. Looking forward to our get-together, ~Scheherazade
  18. OoC: This kind. I can remove the extra "h" if it bothers you that much.

Bartholomew shoots the chicken leg on the right for 22 damage. The battle is dragging, and the situation is getting desperate. Three enemies still remain. 20. Ellaria is happy to be back in Eubric since her condition is constantly getting worse. She doesn't think she would be able to do much questing in the near future, but something inside her tells that one of those gems would prove to be valuable. "Nur, I would like to have the Emerald, if you don't mind. This quest has proven that I cannot trust my fiery staff alone, so perhaps I will create a wood-elemental weapon to accompany it." Her next order of business is to return the scrolls she borrowed from Atramor and Alf. They were useful for sure, but she would find a way to get some of her own. She then thanks her companions as well as Sylvania for bringing them all safely back home. OoC: Thank you for the fun quest, JimBee!
  21. Dear Guts, I am willing to forgive your insolence this once, if you learn these simple rules by heart: 1) Never ask me about my past. I will tell you the story if you prove to be worthy. 2) Never ask me about the Veterans. You will learn enough about them in time if you stick with Heroica. 3) Never ask me to serve you. I am a free orc, not your slave. Capiche? ~Scheherazade Drake!!! You just have to ruin everything, don't you! *tear stains* ~B
  22. No, it never will. I just added the rumor for the heck of it. ...Just kidding, of course it will. Sham has already appeared in the Test Quest as well as had a cameo in Quest#6. He will be introduced to the vast public in one of my current quests (depending on if the questers will run into him, that is).
  23. You are correct. Thanks for being so observant!
  24. Dear Guts, Your tap is off. You owe me the price of 265 alcoholic beverages, 32 chicken wings, three whole roasted pigs and a vat of grapes. Sincerely yours, ~Scheherazade
  25. I'm actually thinking of reducing the Dread Hat's power to include only enemies that are half of Docken's level. So currently, no enemies under the level of 9 would be able to damage him. How would that sound to you, Brickdoctor? Hopefully not too unfair...
