I am trying to build a LEGO castle MOC and might include a small chapel area. I was wondering if any of you have any advice on how I could build a LEGO bishop or clergy minifigure out of existing LEGO parts (i.e. nothing Custom).

Supported. Very creative idea! Good luck!

^ Depends on how much it is. If it is the regular $4.99 price, then of course! It'll be a bargain!

It'll probably be a mountain like the one in the weathertop MOC. I might make it a Forest Mountain instead. The only building I plan to have on the mountain is the palace/guardhouse structure at the very top. I could build smaller houses on the mountain itself, but that is not a priority right now.

bump. Please help.

LOL.

I think the Orthanc picture is real. Still, a bit disappointed that LEGO is not releasing any Gondor figures. Would be nice to have some Gondor soldiers and Mumakil (elephants).

I was thinking of building a mountain MOC structure, about 8 x 16 or perhaps even bigger. I plan to have a building on the top of the mountain, such as a palace or a guardhouse. I think this recently posted MOC by another member on Eurobricks is similar to what I want to build: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77741. I was wondering what are some good techniques for building a LEGO mountain. Specifically: 1. What color bricks should I use? 2. What types of bricks should I use? (size, slanted or not, any special bricks) 3. What should I use as the base? (baseplate? large flat LEGO piece? Nothing?) It would be best to have the LEGO mountain as realistic as possible. THanks.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
gundamz replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Does anyone have any information on the upcoming Iron Man and/or Superman sets? -
Personally, I prefer the look of the Crown faction. I don't like their opponent's though (skeletons, etc.) because I am more into real life, as opposed to fantasy, battles.

Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter up on CUUSOO
gundamz replied to Crownie's topic in Special LEGO Themes
How does this work? If this gets approved, LEGO will still need to get a license from Nintendo or whoever, right? And what happens if they cannot reach a deal? Anyways, the set looks good. At 438 and about 10 cents per piece (at least), the set will cost around $43 or so. It would be nice to have more than two minifigures. Perhaps they could add a simple generic villain knight or other Zelda enemy. -
Your MOCs look great. I like the amount of detail you put into each MOC. Thanks for posting more detailed pictures on Flickr,

I have a bunch of 2x2 bricks from when I was a kid. I am now more of an AFOL and I am wondering if 2x2 bricks are useful at all for MOCs. If so, how would you usually use 2x2 bricks? I just bought MMV, which is more of an AFOL set, and that set uses very few 2x2 bricks, opting to use more 1x2 bricks instead.

Why doesn’t LEGO provide any battle packs?
gundamz replied to Elander's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Kids also are generally not as interested in recreating a full battle (e.g. Battle of Black Gate; Battle of Pelennor Fields) as they are in recreating a particular scene (e.g. death of Witch King). -
\Also, Denethor II.

Why doesn’t LEGO provide any battle packs?
gundamz replied to Elander's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think that, in a way, the Uruk-Hai army set is a battle pack. What I think is disappointing to many, based on what I have read here, is that there is no battle pack for the "good guy" factions, like Gondor. I think it is strange that Lego would release sets of rather obscure scenes (Corsairs) but not sets of Gondorian soldiers. -

IIRC, Star Wars didn't start having battle packs until 2008, about 10 years after the first LEGO star wars sets. I think the point is that if LEGO releases battle packs now, people would buy those battle packs and not buy the more expensive regular sets. -
Just curious: What's so bad about King Leo's logo? (I just got back into LEGO, thus I do not really know the backstory). It seems that historically, some monarchies have used a lion as their logo so it doesn't seem too strange to me.

For Bilbo, you could change the hair to a similar piece of a different colour and pretend it is a Hobbit villager.

Your MOC looks awesome. I particularly like the "modular street level."

Yeah, the original rumor was that there would be 8 LotR sets, which makes more sense.

I really want a castle for my collection. Unless the LotR line releases Minas Tirirth (which seems unlikely), I think I will strongly consider getting the King's Castle.
-
No Minas Tirith (or even part of it, like the throne room)? Kind of disappointing. Still, the picture only shows 4 out of the rumored 8 sets. With the Treebeard set and the Balrog set, that makes 6, which leaves 2 sets unrevealed. Edit: It'll be interesting to see whether LEGO ever does anything related to the Battle of Pelennor Fields, including releasing the elephants.
