Well, that explains things. I never thought killing Sirius would have had such a negative impact. I'll need to grab some PMs, so I'll edit this in a minute, but I have to say that this game was a lot of fun. Congratulations to Quarryman and ADHO. I said earlier that I made one huge mistake. That was on Day 5, accusing WhiteFang the way I did. It lead to too many unanswerable questions at teh end of the game, like why I was still alive, and not converted. I could stall those questions for a while, but eventually it bit me in the behind. Anyway, my profile: I did manage to successfully investigate three people: Arjay, WhiteFang and The Crazy One. It's interesting uncovering a mob boss in the act, even more interesting when you are the target! And when the Night Watch ability kicks in, it becomes surreal. And then it happened twice, two nights in a row! I guess my instincts were pretty good, considering I watched two of the mob bosses on successive nights. Especially that early in the game (Nights 3 and 4). By the middle of the game, I was just trying to find Townies with potentially useful night actions, so that we could neutralize them or target them for conversion, so my lack of successes wasn't surprising. Or dishartening. Except that ADHO wasn't converted until Night 11! Things could have been quite different, though. The vigilantes (Hewkii and later Fugazi) never tried to kill anyone until Night 7. WhiteFang never managed to convert anyone, so he never had a killer. And Sandy's killer got caught in the act on Night 2, then she got convicted Day 6. Had all three mafias and the Vigalante managed to be active, the game would have moved much faster.

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
Walter Kovacs replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Next time you Duel against me, you could send a copy of your first DS to me. -
The first thing I'd do is check your settings. Under the settings drop down, select Change, then go to the Step, Grid Snap tab. I set my Coarse grid to 10 8 10 for xyz and 90 for rotation. That gives half a stud movement both directions horizontally, and one plate vertically. Medium grid I set to 5 4 5 in xyz (quarter stud horizontal, half plate vertical)and usually 22.5 for rotation, but I change rotation often to suit my needs. Fine Grid I set to 1 1 1 and usually 1 degree. This is only used for fine trimming of rotated parts and single piece SNOT. Get used to changing between Grids with F9, F10 and F11. I do that ALL the time. Speaking of rotated parts, if I have to rotate more than a few parts (usually three is my cutoff), I use the Multipart function to crate a submodel. click on Multipart, then New Model. Build the submodel studs up, and then bring it into your main model. In the small window to your left, where the pictures of your elements are, click on the drop down, and you should see a category called Document at the very end. That is where all the submodels appear, and you can bring in as many instances as you need. As for rotations, they take some getting used to. Having the right settings help. When rotating around a specific point, you can move the rotation point. Under Settings again, choosing Rotation Point will bring up a small window. There are two check boxes there. Show Rotation point will put a small square on the screen showing the rotation point. Allow On Screen Changes will allow you to grab that point and move it. If you happen to know the precise coordinates that you want to rotate around, you can enter them via the Custom Point, but I've never gotten the hang of the coordinate system. I just move the box to the center of the hinge, then rotate in the appropriate direction. Those are some quick pointers I have. Hope that helps. If you need any more specific help, just ask.

I am SO curious as to what's going on here. I really wish I could explain it, but I have to admit I'm now confused. -
The problem with that is even with a small Corvette or frigate, true minifig scale would be massive, much larger than any UCS set that TLG has ever produced.

He's got 80 posts, so I think he was just inactive for a while. Isn't there a thread for this sort of thing in the Community Forum? EDIT: Found it. At any rate, welcome back.

I don't know, it looks exactly like the red one we got a few years ago to me. Maybe my eyesight is beginning to go, but I don't see any differences.

[Review] 8099 Midi-scale Imperial Star Destroyer
Walter Kovacs replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great review, Herr Doktor. Seems like I've seen it before somewhere. This looks like a fantastic set. But unless I receive it as a gift, I won't own it for a while. I have always loved the ISD, and this has the shape down well, it's just a little too expensive for my wallet. I'd love to have one though, so if any of you need a last minute Christmas gift for me... -

I'm ready to head up to the fourth floor. A description would be nice. -
Welcome sci-fi. The Star Wars forum is very active, so I hope to see you there in the near future.

First off, thanks for the pics of Mace's JSF. I still think it's ugly as sin, though. The minifigs are nice, but it's too bad that Tactical Droid will never fit into the seat. It's a shame the it's going to take some modding there. I'm sure I'll end up with it someday, since I have all the others. I don't know whether to be happy or disappointed that we are getting another Consular Class Frigate. I coudln't afford the first one a few years ago, and chances are I won't be able to afford this one either. I can't imagine it's going to be much different from the first version, aside from some obvious cosmetic changes, so I think disappointment is in order, if only because we could have gotten a new set and not just a(nother) re-hash. Hopefully the minifigs included will make it more worthwhile.

Insane? Why would you think that? *twitch* The doctors say I'm doing much better now. *twitchtwitch* Why just the other day they loosened the straps on my straightjacket. *twitch* Prior experience: PoP, Village of the Damned, Eurodina, Red Scare. And I have nothing currently on my radar. 1. Looks like two clown skiers, upside down, horribly mangled in a skiing accident. 2. Definitely a VS-54 Peacekeeper robot, come to put down the insurrections of Earth and pacify the populace. 3. Grongian Empire battlestar, no doubt about it. Obviously coming to Earth to disgorge the above Peacekeeper robots. 4. Grongian Stunt Fighter. They should level our cities within days. 5. The benevolent Emperor Grongius himself. See the kindness in his eyes as he comes to liberate the human race (from their bodies)? -

Round 3 Diana Fabray vs Ollivander Dippet Health - 5 Health - 3 Protego - 0 Expecto Patronum - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Sectumsempra - Low - 0 Protego - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Crucio - 1 Silencio - 0 Protego - 0 Mid - 0 Health - 5 Health - 2 Ollivander knew he needed to start fast. But he also knew his opponent, so he broguht forth his Patronus to protect himself from a devastating attack; an attack that never came. Undaunted, he again tried his Sectumsempra curse, only to find Diana's shield charm waiting for him. Frustrated, he disarmed his foe, hoping to throw her off balance. Expecting her to protect herself, he attempted to silence the Slytherin, but instead found his body wracked in searing pain. He tried one last desparate hex, only to find Diana behind yet another shield charm, smiling her wicked little smile. Winner: Diana Fabray. Update your profiles. Seems like I've seen that sort of strategy from KDM before. -
Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Five

Do I know of a way onto the roof? It's a long shot that we'll find anything there, but we might as well be thorough. It just doensn't seem like someplace that we'll find anything useful, unless the commies got sloppy and left something behind. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
Walter Kovacs replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'd be remiss by not saying this, but that isn't the DS I sent for Round 2, it was the DS from round 1. I replied to the original PM, and so it should be the second message in that conversation. It should look like this: Crucio, High, Mid, High, Low. Which would put Skylar in the lead, 3-2, I believe. DS Sent. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Walter Kovacs replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
They get easily misprinted? I have over 80 standard clones, and I've never noticed a misprint. Then again I've never checked, either. 1 or 2 mm isn't a whole lot, although it is noticable by the naked eye. I wonder how easy it is for the helmets to get misaligned in the printing machine? -
Overall I like the direction you are heading. The laser cannons on the wings are shaping up nicely, but I don't like the use of this 8L bar . I've never been a fan of that piece, and can't help but wonder if there isn't a better solution here. I'd like to see more details on the wing opening mechanism when you're ready to show them. The angle looks pretty accurate, which isn't easy. If you want or need help or tips on MLCad, I'd be happy to provide what I can. Just make a new thread in the LDD forum and let me know here that you've done it (I don't frequent LDD too often). I'll answer any questions I can.

Brickshelf stopped accepting the uploads of .pdf files several months ago. I used to upload custom instructions of my MOCs as .pdf files, but haven't been able to do it since May, if I remember right. All .pdf files that were uploaded before they stopped accepting them are still available.

Review: 7914 Mandalorian battlepack
Walter Kovacs replied to Blackknight112's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice review, Blackknight. I have to agree about the horrid faces on the Mandos. But since most, if not all, of the time they will be covered by the helmet, I'm not going to care about them too much. I think the speeder looks pretty close to what was in TCW. The cannon and turret are OK. Still, the focus in this set is in the minifigs, and if you want some Mando warriors, you have your chance. I'll pick up one, maybe two sets. Certainly no more than that. -
Thanks Cloney-O. I don't own any of those sets, so that's why I've never seen that piece before. One thing I don't like about BfG is the knees of the cannon walker. It looks like they are attached to the Technic liftarm with one of these 2x2 Plate with Hole , which leads to a few problems. First, the corners of this plate are visable beneath the wedge plates, which always looks terrible, in my opinion. Second, when the pin holding this knee plate loses it's friction (and it will), the knee plate will droop down. I think I might have to MOD this part to alleviate the problems.
