Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum - Day One
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I know you're insane and all, but Wha!?! Is there any basis to this accusation, or are you just flinging votes around willy nilly? The least you could do is give some sort of reasoning before dragging my name through the mud. Christ (no offense meant, Dougie), if anyone is acting scummy, I think its the King at this point. -
I've wondered why Stash went and did what he did. I assumed he was trying to deflect the heat from you that day. For that matter, why did he sell out Sandy so quickly? He could easily have gathered information for her, and then sold her out much later if things turned against her and her gang.

Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Six
Walter Kovacs replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, it's good to see that no one died on the way over here. First, I'd like to walk around the house and get an approximate size and shape of the home. Does it look like there's a basement? Is there a garage? Any gardens, plantings, distinguishing features in the yard to look at? I will be comparing my impressions of the outside of the home to the shape of the first floor interior and basement later, if there is one. What color is the house? It's not painted red, is it? -
Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum - Day One
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I suppose I can accept taht line of reasoning. It does seem really shallow and superficial, if you ask me, especially considering you know the level of their delusions. But I'll buy it. For now. I mean, following your logic, you could have just as easily backed a medical genius like me. Makes one wonder if you didn't have an alterior motive. That doesn't explain Nurse Pendleton's endorsement, nor the massive amounts of bathroom messages that others seem to have read. Just who did start those campaigns? And why were the people who were chosen to receive these messages, well, chosen? Makes one think. -
Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum - Day One
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
What an odd thing to say. Yes, we don't have much evidence to go on. But we do have some evidence: the voting for PR. And yes, it would be bad to vote of a normal insane. But what happens tomorrow when we hve just as much evidence? Do we sit on our hands again, and let the sinisters pick us off one at a time at night? We need to discuss what has occurred already today, and see if we can see anything out of the ordinary. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Walter Kovacs replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Err, the Clone Turbo Tank just came out this past year, and has Cad Bane. The Tactical Droid is going to be in Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter. A picture of it can be found in the 2011 Rumor and Picture Thread. Unless you know something the rest of us don't? -
Up to four votes for one ship? You're kidding, right? I had serious trouble narrowing it down to seven to vote for. All of these are incredible. 1. HMS Achilles - 1 point 2. RTS Zavala - 1 point 6. La Morte Royale - 1 point 8. HMS Prince of Wales - 1 point 9. Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion - 1 point 11. La Snge Royale - 1 point 20. Soleil Royale - 1 point Good luck to all of the entries. They really are all incredible in their own ways.

The cockpit is looking good so far. I agree, those engines are going to be...interesting to recreate accurately. I don't have any helpful tips on anything you've completed, so I will wait patiently for another update. Looking forward to seeing more.

Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum - Day One

I couldn't agree more with both of you. My genius senses something extremely fishy in these proceedings. vote:Ryan Catchers/Rick Big Cam (5; Big Cam, Sandy, ADHO15, sok117, Stash) Washing Bear (7; KingoftheZempk, JimButcher, Dragonator, Shadows, Roncanator, Lord Arjay, Quarryman) Mr. Nowhere (2; Rufus, Scouts) Jesus (2; iamded, Badboy) Ryan Catchers (3; Rick, TinyPiesRUs, Walter Kovacs) Dudley Eisenhower (1; Mrlegoninja) Stanley Spussemmin (1: CorneliusMurdock) -
Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum - Day One
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The role of PR should go to the smartest person in the asylum. And since I'm a medical genius, that obviously is me. Besides, the rest of you are clearly insane. However, since it looks like some of you have made up your minds already, I'm going to withhold my vote for now and watch how things progress. It could be that the Sinister Insanes are trying to gain the tie-breaking vote for themselves. -
OR, it could be a preliminary picture, and we will get a photo with a properly printed torso and helmet when the official wave pictures come out (in May?). So it could be anyone at this point, and could change before the set is released. Look what happened with Quinlan Vos.

Yep, that last one was a groaner.

I agree with Enpaz, something a little brighter so that we can see some of the details will go a long way.

I'd offer to review the MINI Slave I, but you can see (or more imprtantly, you can't see) how well I did with the MINI AT-AT. Which reminds me, I have to finish that review up someday.

I have a question about how the wings rotate. Is there anything to make them stop at 90 degrees? Or even at 0 degrees when in landing mode? I know the new V-wing has stops for it's wings, but I don't see any here. Also, do the wings turn by "the hand of God", or is their a gear mechanism somewhere on the back of teh ship that you turn to rotate the wing? If it wasn't for Shaak Ti and Saessee Tiin, I wouldn't even give this set a second look, from what I've seen. There was a lot of potential in this set, and it just falls flat in my eyes.

And I certainly have some AT-STs to donate to the cause. I'm just not a big minifig guy, and outside of the minifigs, there isn't much substance to the set. Still, I am a collector, and the price is reasonable, so I might pick it up just so I don't have to pay through the nose after it goes out of print. Funny, the Dathomir speeder is one of the sets that DID catch my eye. And a Trade Federation Vulture Droid. One can't forget that. I'll be REALLY disappointed if the new N-1 is just a rehash of the previous version, unless it has been re-designed from the ground up. The Sith Infiltrator has enough changes from the previous version, though I don't know if the demand is there for a new version. I certainly didn't see a burning need for it. Perhaps LEGO is giving us many Ep. I sets to entice those that don't like the CW sets.

Chief Chirpa was in the Battle of Endor set. He had a nice, brickbuilt staff. I just can't get too excited about the Ewok Attack set. With no AT-ST included, the log trap seems kind of a waste. If it had a few more imperials and I'd consider it. Maybe another Scout Trooper and speeder would do the trick. Overall I'm not real happy with much of what I've seen in Wave 2. Keep comments like that up, and KimT will notice. And that's not the kind of attention you'll be wanting, trust me. There are a lot of pages in this thread. It's easy to miss a comment. Just relax, and know that most readers saw your post.

Review: 7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter
Walter Kovacs replied to starstreak's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for another quality review, Starstreak. This looks like a fairly nice set, and at $20 it's in my price range. I love the minifigs. Unfortunately the ship itself isn't perfect, but it is an improvement over the previous version. -
You're right, all of the entries are "just MOCs". And the contest rules were deliberately vague (I think). But the judges have taken some amazing LEGO photos over the last year or so, playing with different lighting, camera angles, natural locations and other effects. And that is what this contest is about, at least the way I read it. Having a nice subject can't hurt, but I think the judges will look for someone who pushed the art of the photograph, rather than made a nice subject and took a picture of it. That's why I think there are several photos that are likely ahead of this one when judging time comes around. If the contest were about the MOC, I'd say this one would be a front runner. But in a contest about the photograph and not the MOC, I don't think it quite makes it. It's still a fantastic MOC, no question about it.

Happy New Year from Eurobricks!
Walter Kovacs replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Happy New Year everyone. Here's to hoping that 2011 treats you well. And brings plenty of little plastic bricks, of course. -
I wish everyone a happy and safe New Year. Here's to hoping that 2011 will be filled with LEGO.

Welcome to EB, Kleber. Don't be shy about voicing your opinion, Nobody here bites. Well, I might, but I promise it won't hurt.

Review: 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter
Walter Kovacs replied to mutley777's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the well-written review, Mutley. I love the look of this set. It looks to be really well designed. As you mentioned, the initial price tag put me off. But I think my wife might have gotten it on sale for my birthday. I know she asked me if I had it, and if the sale price was decent. I of course said no and yes. Being able to use the pieces out of a UCS set isn't even an option for me. Once I build a UCS set, it stays built.
