  1. Baird looks great! We are working through Gears of Wars and he is one of our favorite characters.
  2. My other local WalMart has at least a dozen on the shelf. I just stopped there on the way home from work. Tempting to grab a few more at the price. Good Xmas or Birthday presents.
  3. Dennimator, You can use USPS.COM to check shipping prices. If you don't care about the box, it would be a lot cheaper to ship it without the box. The box this comes in is huge.
  4. There are about 6 Walmarts in a 25 mile radius from me. If I see another I can pick it up for you. Shipping should not be more than 20-30 dollars US MAIL. You could still get it for almost half price of what you would pay up in Canada. Anyone on here ever considered doing group buys as some of the other enthusiast boards do?
  5. I was browsing today in my local (Portsmouth, New Hampshire) Walmart and they had the Troll Warship on closeout for $30.00. They only had 1 but I grabbed it anyway. I don't normally collect the Castle stuff, but it turned out to be a very cool ship. My kids built it in an hour and love it. Its hard to pass up a deal like that. You may want to check your local Walmart if you want one! They also had a few large Bionicle sets on closeout too.
  6. This is a very cool pile of bricks Hinckley! I love it. You should be designing for LEGO. If this was a set from LEGO, I would buy it. I love the shot of it next to the brewery. Thanks for sharing your great MOC's.
  7. I love following this Journey on Classic-Town.net and looking at the great MOCS. The tan Trekant Castle is so cool looking with the triangles. The other great finds and reviews stuck in the middle of the journey are a nice break to each segment of the story too. Keeps me comin' back for more! Its great members like you and everyone else here that have the time, enthusiasm, and resources to really make this hobby/passion something to be almost looked at in awe. I couldn't imagine the creativity and worldwide love of these bricks and minifigs when I was a kid building stuff with my 200 or so pieces but to see it now is amazing. Keep up the great posts and blogs and I'll be sure to share my stuff too!
  8. Same boat here in New Hamshire. Walmart has nothing. TRU has nothing either except a few leftover new sets from Xmas. They actually have nothing compared to a few weeks before Xmas. Not a single Coast Guard set on the shelf. SAH looks like my best bet if I want something new. Nothing like that impulse buy when you are there in the store though. The nearest LEGO store is an hour away and they hase sales tax (we don't in NH), so I haven't ventured over there yet although I would love to check out their PAB wall.
  9. Nice work! The decals look perfect! The more I see people like you building great train cars like this the more inspiration and motivation I get to to start working on my own!
  10. I too hope they come with some train buildings too! I only have the RC stuff. If money was no object, I would be 9V all the way! I think that era was the pinnacle of LEGO trains.

    Fire House

Looks fabulous! Just the type of firehouse that would fit snugly in between CC and GC! I may pick up the 7945 and do something similiar myself. Thats probably the cheapest way to MOC your own Firehouse if you don't have any garage doors. Hope you don't mind me borrowing a few ideas from your great looking build!
  12. I also find it annoying that your shopping cart cannot be saved. Sometimes I'll go back after a few hours and my shopping cart is gone. This is really annoying when you have a few hundred pieces in your shopping cart and it took you an hour to build the cart. If they could fix that it would make my day!
  13. Good link. I see what legotrainfan means with the 6x8 slopes though. I'll worry about that. My main concern is having the tracks look right and secured properly in the corners. I'm gonna experiment with 2x2 swivel plates and smooth tiles on the corners tonight.
  14. Question for the train buffs here: I want to make my train tracks look more realistic. 1. 1x1 plates for track ballast? This is the impression I'm getting from pics. 2. Tracks raised 1 plate off of baseplates? 3. Corners: How to have them secured to the baseplate in a corner yet still have them at the same height as the straights. Currently my tracks are snapped directly to the baseplates on the straights but the corners just sit there. I also want the tracks more realistic looking with the ballast. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
  15. I think the Classic-Town.net is a great website, and I view it daily. It takes a lot of work to post all these cool finds and I for 1 appreciate all the work that goes into it! I do find viewing LEGO community MOC's the most enjoyable. Keep up the good work!
  16. Thanks for reminding on the yellow door, its gone now! I'm finishing up the rear now. Window panes are in and the back yard is getting done too. Will post more pics.
  17. The LEGO Green Grocer comes with a very nice interior.
  18. Thanks for everyones comments! I'm glad to share my MOC with everyone here! Its nice to have a place to share with people who can appreciate one's work. (Sometimes family members just don't "get it") Here are a few shots with some other buildings including the Green Grocer:
  19. Thanks Posades its the regular blue though. Sometimes the color comes out weird when the pics post. Thank you WhiteFang your comments are always appreciated. Thanks for posting it on Classictown. I will be sure to comment on some of the other great MOCS I've been looking at there. I hope to get some interior done this weekend.
  20. Ha Ha me stupid American! I literally thought the Green Grocer was named for its colors. I guess there aren't many blue veggies other than blueberries! And thats a fruit! Thanks for the comments though! (Hinckley- maybe you can rename my post to MOC: Green Grocer) Thanks! Thanks Erdbeereis1, I appreciate your comments, I'll be working on the interior this weekend. The upper floors don't seem as large as I'd hoped though, not sure what I can do with the interior. I had to use a lot of 2 wide bricks on these sections.
  21. B-OM-5D Hey guys/gals, Its been a few months since I've posted, been busy building. I started a new building for my town a few months back and it ended turning into a Green Grocer style building. Here's my take on it: I haven't done any interior work on it yet. It has a separate entance to the partment above. The 1st floor will be some sort of shop: 2nd floor: 3rd floor: 3rd floor with top roof removed: Here is the rear. The apartment has a back entrance too: The rear needs a little finishing. I'll put up some pics of how it fits into the town.
  22. Move it on out if thats where it needs to be-I didn't even think of posting it there Thanks!
  23. You can always use the USPS.COM shipping calculator too. This will give you a good idea of pricing even when you add insurance and delivery confirmation. You can ship a Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope from US to Israel for $15.00!
  24. Only City construction my local had was the Dump Truck.
  25. I was at TRU browsing the LEGO aisle and saw they had the new 7631 Dump Truck. I picked it up on impulse, $22.99, kind of pricey for 189 pieces. I can post a few pics if you want. I'd to do a review on it but it may take a few days as I'm not graduated from the Reviewers Academy yet. They also had the SUV with horse trailer and 3 or 4 sets of the Pirates line. They also had 3 sets of very cool Gift boxes with about 150 standard pieces each along with a Minifig. Item numbers 6191 6192 and 6193. These were only $9.99 each. I don't normally buy from TRU as their prices are a little higher than everyone else, but I love getting my hands on a new set not even available at SAH yet.
