  1. Thats funny Griimy the recipient is right around the corner from you, over in Wayland. Thanks for your comments! I think I spent over $300 just on Bricklink, plus at least $100-200 of parts I had "in stock".
  2. Very cool MOC, love the orange and the big wheels/tires.
  3. Thanks Stanley- the 75 degree corner pieces came from bricklink. They were about $1 each, so they were pricey but I had to have them, otherwise I don't think it would have come out as well as I was hoping. I'm not at liberty to quote the price of the MOC but lets just way it wasn't cheap! I think I had about $300 just in bricks. Thank you CommanderFox! I was at a loss for a color to break up the dark bley and finally decided on the dark red.
  4. Wow this is insane! Tons of details and designs I've never seen used. This could easily fit into any city layout perfectly!
  5. Thanks for everyone kind comments!! I left the two top floors empty so the new owner could add his own touches. I tried to find a few ghosts for it, but those buggers are PRICEY! I didn't get any pics, but the top steeple has a light brick in it too. You push the top center down and it lights up the inside on the tower. I had a lot of fun building this, the hardest part was laying out the framework and trying to envision in my mind what it should look like. I actually wanted the roof to be black or dark bley but those 75 degree corner pieces are hard to come by. Thanks again for everyones comments! Thanks Otters! Yeah it was a present, the childs Dad paid for the parts and I built it. Apparently from what I've been told it was the best gift under the tree this year. A before version would have been very cool, what a great idea!
  6. I love it! Great 1st train MOC!!
  7. Bummer-I missed the pics too
  8. I recently made a haunted mansion as a Christmas gift. A little off season but what the heck. Sadly I had to pack it up and ship it out Here are a few pics I wanted to share. Its 3 stories built on the 48x48 baseplate. Each floor is removable. Light brick in the fireplace as well as the steeple. Almost perfect snot gravestone Light brick in the fireplace. Comments, criticism, feedback always welcome!
  9. Looks great, you need to put the white 8 long rail plates facing outwards if you want the outside sliding door to open. I love this Creator set, I have bought about 6 of them, 1 to keep, the other ones for parts.
  10. I think it looks great!
  11. mmmm....green cheese slopes!! I love it!
  12. In think I'm with the majority. A lot of cash has been sent to BL. My orders can be anywhere from $20-$200 at any given time depending on what I'm working on. I always over-order to be on the safe side. Especially with common pieces. A good tip is to have your favorite sellers opened up on your PC on separate pages. Get your order going with one and check with your other sellers to make sure they don't have a better price. Sometimes even paying shipping from a few different sellers can save money as one may have the same part as another but cheaper. I try new sellers, but usually stick with the ones that have good inventory, new parts, and quick invoicing and shipping. I ordered some used stuff cheap but was dissapointed in the condition so I only buy new stuff.
  13. Yeah I think I will stay away.. seems too fishy, no phone numbers, addresses etc...
  14. I'm thinking I should stay away. If you go to the Payment and Ship page of the website there are FedEx tracking numbers that originate from Memphis. I suppose since its Paypal I could file a dispute if I didn't get my order.
  15. I keep coming across this ad on Craigslist. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/tag/1502332800.html http://www.legotoy.net/Creator.html What do you think? Pricing seems too good to be true, and Fedex next day free shipping?
  16. I picked up a Holiday Train on Craigslist for $25! With box and instructions (2nd half). Only missing 6x28 red train base which I bought on BL for $4! 4 extra minifigs in there too!
  17. I want your Cypress trees Brickster.....
  18. I recently received my Cafe Corner from SAH for my collection before they discontinue it in the U.S. I was looking over the piece count and contemplating buying a few more to use as parts for other modular buildings. Aside from not really having any standard windows, there are tons of parts. I'm torn between buying such an icon and piecemealing it for parts. Would you guys do it? I have bought about 6 of the Family Home just for parts. The other option I was thinking is grab a few and hold onto them until they are NLA. You've all seen what people are getting for Market Street MISB on eBay right? Thoughts?
  19. Looks fabulous as do all your trucks!
  20. Pictured in my street layout: Good idea with the Christmas tree in the arch.
  21. Thanks for everyones comments!! I appreciate the feedback!
  22. Very cool. I love the added flags to the revision. Looks great. Very nice idea with the bedframe in white with the window frame and smooth tiles. Simple but ingenious! Would look great in any city block! Oh and adding the white around the door frame and in between the top windows really make a big difference too!
  23. Here is the red and white Cafe Corner I did recently. It was intended to be a pizza shop, but as it got going it looked better as a Christmas style toy shop. Its definitely a bright, stand out building. I stole a few designs from the Winter Toy shop for the toys on the 1st floor. As always, comment and feedback appreciated!
  24. Crayola make the white clay that air drys and paints well. I bought some for my kid at Walmart.
  25. Here is my Christmas Cafe Corner:
