I think so, thats what it says on the barracks thread.
-
Welcome! So you are the one who built the barracks? Check out the thread on it and please enlighten us! I'd like to know more about the bricks. Did you use technic bricks with 3/4 pins to hold the flat tiles? Or head light bricks?

Hey everyone. I appreciate all the comments. After review and some thinking I've decided to go with Sandys advice on the flat top roof. I did however want to keep the veranda at the top though. I removed the white sloped roof, put some inverted white slopes all around, and fenced it in. Heres a top shot. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for everyones advice and comments. I've added the cabinets on the side so there are 2 each side now. I replaced the cab roof with white, replaced the front grille back plate with white, and added a white rocker panel. The rear lamp holders were also replaced with white. I also replaced the mirror holders with white and used grey for the mirrors.

I decided to throw together a little Coke truck. I saw a LEGO one somewhere and thought I should try it. I don't normally put graphics on my stuff, but it needed something. I printed a Coke sign off the web and glued it on with a glue stick. The cab is 6 wide but for the box section I wanted something larger but not 8. I think it would have been too big on the back. So I went 7. Here it is: Here's the front. I like my trucks and cars to be low to the ground, so the front grille/headlight/bumper section is 4 studs deep. I also let the wheels tuck right into the mudguards yet they still roll. Looking at the front, I may change the front nose panel to white along with the roof of the cab. Comments on this? Back: The door actually fits well although I can't fit any cases of coke inside when I open it. Delivery being made. When I have a chance I will pick up some more red cabinets with white doors to have 2 on each side. One more shot showing the front. You can see in this pic how the 7 wide box section fits well with the 6 wide cab. Sorry for the rough pics, my camera and camerman both stink! As usual comments, criticism, and feedback welcome! Thanks for looking!

You have a good suggestion there Sandy. Maybe just a redesign on the roof may put it in perspective with the other buildings.

Thanks everyone for the advice and comments. I appreciate all the feedback! I'll leave it be. Wulf I'll post some pics of the blue van later today.

Do you think this green/white/red building is too large for my city? Its about 6 or 7 bricks higher than teh Green Grocer. Its currently the tallest building we have. I hate to downsize it but I think its too large. What do you guys/gals think?

U.S. only, phone specials when you call the customer service line. There is a prompt to hear the weekly specials. Just tell the rep you want the item for the price on the phone special and they adjust the price when you order it on the phone.

Sorry I didn't notice the Brickshelf link. Where did you get those cool little 1x2 slopes with the air vents? I really like how you got the 1x4 grey fences in there for the floor section. Your hovercraft is very tough looking, something I would not want to be on the wrong side of. Did you try it with a tinted front window?
-
I think both versions look killer. I like the darker grey, its more stealth. I love the hovercraft, I am working on combining the Hovercraft Hideout with the Technic hovercraft to have something like what you have going on with a working rear prop. Can we see the back too? The fans from Hovercraft hideout would look great on the back of your model if they were concealed a little.

LEGO SAH phone specials has the 8147 Bullet Run for 19.98 this week. Its normally 49.99. I'm not into Racers but for 796 pieces this is a great deal! Also a bunch of Exoforce stuff on sale.

The 9V tracks will work with R/C tracks. Slightly diferent shade of grey though.
-
This all depends on how often its used and the payload. I have the RC passenger train too and the batteries last pretty long My 1st was about 3 months, with a lot of heavy use when we 1st got the train. The remote seems to be durable, a few drops by the kids but still work great. Typical LEGO high quality. Where may I ask are you seeing this sale? Is it local to you?
-
I have this set and if you can get it for $119 go for it. You will want more track though. If you can get my own train in green you can make a nice matching rear loco which is what I did. The freight trains around here all have one front and one rear loco. The remote works good until you need to slow the train down but its behind a building and the remote IR doesn't reach. The assortment of train cars is good as well as sports car, flatbed truck and forklift. Just the vehicles make a good addition to any city. The motors are fairly strong but I don't have 9V LEGO to compare. I've pulled the max reccomendation plus my crocodile hobby train with no problem.

Definitely, I mentioned this earlier. You could easily apply this set to even a modern looking city. I will probably get this for my City and modify the backs and roofs to be modular design. Closed in, 4 walls, removeable floors and roofs, etc. I don't care for the dollhouse open backs but I guess the kids like it that way. My kids love the way we build our stuff with 4 walls as long as they can take floors and roof off to get inside.

I'd like to give a try! -
Looks like the hovercraft is missing 2 vital gears which I don't have. Bummer. Overall good deal though I think.

Looks great Benny, good stuff!

Today I received these LEGO in the mail. Total cost including $8 shipping- $48.00. Can't post yet in For sale, trades, finds etc so I stuck it here in my fav forum. Appears to be clean and complete. Original instructions too. Also appears to be complete. 1845 Anniversary brick box. Minifigs were in this box. Redbeard pirate and girl from Paradisa riding stables! 5 or 6more minifigs in the 1896 and 6539 boxes. The car has printed headlights and taillights. The 1845 box was full to the top including 3 baseplates. Technic hovercraft with box and instructions. Bonus Technic sportbike not mentioned in sale. Didn't notice the wheels anywhere but haven't sorted everything out. Found most of the bike though still put together. A few Megablocks in there too which I noticed immediately and promptly tossed in the trash!

LEGO eBAY Sellers (Where do they get this stuff?)
Badsneaker replied to Badsneaker's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes you really get "porked" here in the U.S. on LEGO pricing, especially on discontinued sets. You can't buy 4954 Model Town House for under $90 in the U.S. I found a toy store in Buenos Aires that has them in stock for $42 USD. There are tons of old LEGO sets on Ebay Italy for dirt cheap too, but they don't usually ship to U.S., plus by the time you paid shipping it wouldn't be worth it anyways. -
Most of us probably buy and/or sell LEGO on eBAY. I'm wondering where the heck these big LEGO sellers get there stuff. Some of these sellers probably couldn't put together an 80 piece set to save their life but seem to have a line on huge quantities of LEGO. Are they getting this stuff overseas? How do you have 6 or 7 sets of a discontinued set or 268 classic 2x2 white windows brand new?

I know huh zorro. This guy must be an architect, he has tons of real buildings pictures in his folder with detailed info about the architect and building styles. If you llok closely you'll see its almost all built with plates, hardly any bricks at all. Those little white windows are 1.37 each on eBay. I haven't found anyone on Bricklink that has nice new ones in bulk. I hate buying used windows! I have only yet to build the roof, so I know its going to take a while. I have tons of other stuff to do also! -

Can someone help me figure out the shutters on this house? It looks like maybe technic 1x1 bricks with short pins to hold the shutters. But maybe not. -
Thanks! I changed it back to the 1st version: Here's a better shot of the back: Front:
