This is really incredible! What a feast for the eyes!! Don't worry about language, you are speaking in LEGO, and that, my friend, is a universal language here!!

Nice collection of bricks you going there!

Thanks Svelte-good thoughts, it does seem thick at the top, thanks for the suggestions! Thanks DJO,I didn't have much of a reference for the design, I just start laying the bricks down and see where it goes. If you click on the pics it should bring you to my Webshots folder where you can supersize the pics. The small red and green building are to serve as maybe separate entrances to other buidings or apartments in the city. You know when you are walking down a city street and you see a doorway in between 2 larger buildings? Something like that is what I was after. Thank you for everyones comments!!

I recently tried my luck at a corner style office building. This one doesn't have removable floors and roof. I'm working on another one which will probably be more playable. Here's my take on it: Comments, criticism, comments always welcome!

Looks great! Nice and neat and tidy, very cute!

I agree, when I buy this set I will probably either not put the shop sign or modify it.

Nice review! I picked up this set today. I must say I wasn't overly impressed. The house is tiny and the garage roof doesn't come off. Other than the dark blue roof pieces, tan windows, and tan door frame, I think its way overpriced compared to the 976 piece 6754 Family Home. Thats almost double the piece count for another $15 USD. I don't like the bright green 16x32 baseplates. I used a regular green 32 x 32 baseplate and put the other ones aside for future MOC's. This set is worth the price of the Beach House IMO. The box art and the spread in the new LEGO catalog makes it appear much larger than it is.

Good point. If this is the real deal I think the "shop" sign looks like kind of lame. It doesn't even look like there is any snot, just brick built. I would probably MOD this when I get it, either change the "shop" sign or eliminate it, along with the billboard on the roof from what I can see from the grainy pic.

What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
Badsneaker replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think for me it was my kids. My son started getting LEGO sets for Christmas, and I always ended up (helping) putting them together. Then we got my old collection out and it just blew up from there. Now my son is a teenager and has no interest in it at all. And here I am, a LEGO maniac again! -
I would think it would be in the $139.95-$149.95 USD like the existing CC style buildings.

Definitely a great thread. I say I'm split 50/50. I love doing MOC's but I also enjoy building sets LEGO makes. There is something to be said about the excitement of getting a new set, opening the box, building the set, etc....kind of makes you feel like a kid again!

Nice review, I'll be getting this. I'm not a HUGE SW fan, I have the AT-ST, DV's Tie Fighter, and the Hoth Echo Base. I'm getting the X wing fighter soon. I'm really into the "old" SW, since these were the SW I grew up with. The Clone Wars don't do much for me.

Love it! The SUV is really nice!!

Thanks Svelte-you may have a point-this building I actually sold to a woman in Newborough Victoria. Maybe they have buildings like that there!

Thanks for everyones comments. I usually try to stick with 2 color schemes, like these: I figured I would try something different on this.

In my area they have the Farm at $60.99 also, normally $99.95. -
I built #4 and incorporated the RC base from the 7898 Cargo Train.

Great review! I love the minifigs "building" the cafe! Nice job, thanks for the review!

I recently built this lime green/yellow/medium blue/tan boutique and apartment house. It doesn't have a finished interior. Shown here in my ever-changing city layout: Comments, criticism, and feedback welcome as usual!

I agree, its already my wallpaper! That artist is very good, I looked at his website, I would assume he's doing all the artwork for Lego Universe. -
What's with the staff's usernames?

I also had a boatload of them when I was a kid! My dog chewed most of them up though....
