MOC: 1951 Custom Mercury
Badsneaker replied to Ralph_S's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think it looks great Ralph. Looks like a difficult build from scratch but came out great! -
Wow, looks totally like the original! Do you have any nets? Maybe you could fit some in the side windows? Looks awesome!!

I have a bunch of train parts for sale. I'll put it up on eBay if no one here wants it. There is a boxcar from the Freight Train set (RC), the crane car, most of the coal car, 2 green train front window pieces, at least 6 or 7 bogey plates, 9 wheel sets, a bunch of bumpers/magnets, train roofs, train bases, other pieces and a Container Stacker. $50.00 or best offer.

I saw the MB Halo theme too and wondered why LEGO didn't go after it. But like everyone says, there target audience with themes is the younger boys.

Thanks for everyones comments. I wish I had some medium blue arches on the 2nd floor but they are kind of scarce and expensive. The red one I'm working on is coming out pretty nice, I'm waiting on a Bricklink order for this one. Will post pics soon.

While I was waiting for my Cafe Corner to come in from SAH, I decided to go ahead and build one of my own. I used the PDF from the LEGO website to see how they did the angled entrance. I usually use hinge plates but I knew they weren't used on the CC. I used the colors I had most of. The 1x3 windows come in handy here! I added a back exit and 2nd floor fire escape. I'm working on a red one now, should be done in a few days, I had to make a Bricklink order. Comments, criticism always welcome!

Lego Stops Production / Sale of Eiffel Tower?
Badsneaker replied to eversio11's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I ordered one a few weeks just for the parts. The rep at LEGO SAH U.S. said they would have them for a while, but I guess not. -
Thanks for everyone's comment! I appreciate the feedback. Jonwill you can get the black windows on Bricklink and I think Pick-a-Brick has them too. Forresto I thought about tiling the floors, but figured I would leave it with studs so the recipient could add/remove furniture without trying to get the tiles off. I have 2 minifigs with it, both fleshies from the Indy series with different clothing. I'll see if I can post a pic.

A few ago weeks I was asked to make the building from the Johnny Depp movie Sweeney Todd. I had never seen the movie so I borrowed it for the weekend so I could see what the building looked like. If you haven't seen the movie you may not get it. Here is my take on it. Most of the movie is almost black and white, there is no real colors other than greys and blacks. I had to use a plate and a half to fit the rear area of the building. I used a lot of the new black 3 and 2 stud windows. I wanted the rear of the building to have good detail too. The roof can lift open for play too. I installed 2 red light bricks on the back wall. They light up when you close the roof down. It will stay open if you lift the roof a little so you won't kill the batteries. I don't normally do a lot of interior detailing but this is going to a child (I know what you're thinking!) so I wanted it be as playable as possible. There is a trapdoor behind the barbers chair. Notice the Technic lever at the front of the building. Push the lever to the right and it flips the chair back after Todd slices the customers throat. And this is where Mrs. lovett makes her "meat" pies. Overall I think it came out pretty well. (I had a 2 week deadline on it and that included ordering in the windows and some other stuff.)I'm not used to trying to re-create something "real". Hope you like it comments and criticism always welcome!!

How many Brick Separators do you own?
Badsneaker replied to Big Cam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I use them also to remove plates from baseplates mostly. Now if they could come up with something to remove flat tiles from baseplates.... -
Welcome!! Glad you stopped by!

Yeah I ordered the Eiffell tower a few weeks ago and the box had some pretty heavy damage due to Fedex Ground.
