Maul most likely was Sith (since the Plagueis book is now part of "Legends"), but had been assumed dead & discarded--an exception to the Rule of Two. However, as he was only the Apprentice, and not taught everything Sidious had to teach, one could argue that Savage wasn't a true Sith Lord apprentice when Maul made those claims... in any case, it didn't seem like Savage received much in the way of new training, and is dead now so it's kinda moot. But Ventress & the Inquisitor still aren't Sith, anymore than Mother Talzin was.

Sure... if the Sith are wiped out, someone can come along and claim they're Sith and now you've got a whole different batch of Sith (ideally, for them, with loads of history & teachings to draw from, so they'll be more authentic than a Force-strong guy pitching a fit and declaring himself Sith outta nowhere). Kanan isn't a Jedi--he was only a Padawan when Order 66 happened--yet that's not stopping him from teaching Ezra to become a Jedi. In the journey of teaching another, he hopes to rediscover what it means to be one himself, and maybe he'll actually complete his training in the process, even without a Yoda or Obi-Wan or Depa to teach him. Bottom line, tho, is the Inquisitor, like Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress before him, is not Sith. We may not know his name, but we can be sure it's not "Darth Quisitus" thanks to Filoni's remarks on his status.

He was saying he wanted a Tantive IV and either a PT or EpVII UCS (perhaps based on rumors). Also, nobody knows the fate of the Tantive IV... it was captured by the Devastator, but did the Devastator survive the Death Star? Was it, and the Tantive IV, docked there? Or were they sent elsewhere after prisoner transfer & a thorough search? So, technically, it could still be kicking around somewhere in EpVII, serving the Empire, mothballed, sold to a new owner, liberated by an Alliance strike, any number of other fates.

Same... I kept waiting for the $30 Raptor set to go on a decent sale at Target ($25 or lower, as many similar sets had been doing around then) but it never happened. The largest set I found at WalMart for a nice sale ($20 off? Maybe? I forget) but as I was visiting relatives in another state, I didn't much fancy shipping it back or trying to stuff it into my checked baggage. I wound up only getting the smallest set with the little non-poseable raptor-like dino...

Only the Sith can officially call someone else a Sith, and right now it's possible the Rule of Two is still being observed by Vader & Palpatine. They can have dark-side agents, like Asajj or Savage Opress, but despite whatever training they may give the agents they're not considered Sith Lords, and therefore not Sith. When they're called "Sith Apprentices" or "Sith Inquisitors", it's just a faction ID, like "Imperial stormtrooper". They're agents of the Sith, tools... and potential Sith Lord apprentices should one of the two Sith Lords fall. But that's about it.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Venkefedo replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
In addition to that, the "Union Officer" in the Lone Ranger set was a character in a movie; not a CMF Union Officer, therefore there's no "opposite" to be had. -
It's really the potential for figures that drives most of the Osgiliath appearances on "want" lists... In such a set you could get Faramir, other rangers, Gondor soldiers, orcs, Gothmog, Nazgul... Ruins they may be, but isn't that what Dol Goldur is? Lego could probably color up such a set some, with some dark tan, sand green, olive green thrown around... But play features would likely match this set fairly well, with collapsing bits, catapults, ballista, etc. Great set design! The modular aspect makes it really tempting for buying copies, to build out larger ruins however we want... And nicely-designed ruins can be as fun to build & look at as nicely-designed intact structures. I'd snap one of these up in a heartbeat, especially with hair/ears for all the orcs (if an official set, I'd love an armored orc--variation on the Moria orc print, with a new helmet--as the main orc, with Gothmog as the elite... But this lineup is great, too, thanks to the variations!). I know IDEAS has lots of LOTR/Gondor stuff on it, but this would be a great addition there...

Awesome dwarf! Nice use of Hun bits, and great hammer! Neat build & borders!

The build is awesome, and the general function... I just take exception to the idea of large Imp bases all over Tatooine. It's Tatooine! It's not worth depositing that many Imp forces there... and with Jabba's seat of power there, it's not like the Rebellion could (or would! It's Tatooine. Even Hoth is preferable!) ever get a foothold there, not without his permission and a very large bribe. And he'd likely just sell the info to the Empire shortly after.

Groot's looking good so far! I'm really looking forward to Star Lord... if you do the 2008 version (as opposed to the most recent pre-movie Bendis-scripted version), the Kryptonian guns from the Man Of Steel sets look like great stand-ins to the Kree guns he sported for a few years there instead of his Element Gun(s).

That's no flag! Great MOC! The S-shield base, the rubble, the tattered cape, the custom fig, and that fantastic Doomsday!

Somehow I didn't expect 194CE to look so...advanced?

Forbidden love... any chance of avoiding the blatantly obvious PT example? Maybe Obi-Wan & Satine from TCW (tho, perhaps, it could be set well before TCW, back when Obi-Wan & Satine first met & fell in love during the conflicts before the pacifists took power... I don't know terribly much about those events, but it'd be easier to cobble together a suitable Satine figure and use a Padawan Obi-Wan... Qui-Gon could even put it an appearance!)

75040 Grievous' Wheel Bike. Fairly repetitive build, but looks nice! Glad to finally have Grievous & ROTS Obi-Wan figures

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

No, he meant "when did we have a teaser, if this is the trailer?" -
...you mean the ones named hyperbolically? That don't even have the firepower to destroy a measly planet when half the starfleet is assembled according to Han? That Star Destroyer? The Death Star wouldn't be very effective at scaring local systems into toeing the line if a measly Star Destroyer could wipe out entire star systems on its own.

Mithril's a Sindarin word combining "mith" (grey) with "ril" (glimmer)... perhaps a similar compound word from Sindarin? Like "maladbel" or "belmalad" (strong gold) or "mallentû" (golden strength) or "mallenang" (golden iron) or...something. Never really tried to use Tolkien's language to name something! I know it may not be possible with the different angles of all the pics, but it'd be neat to see many of these combined into a marketplace... it's becoming quite the city!

Indeed... these aren't exactly "Rebels" (and only the Imperials would call Republic forces 'Rebels' at this point; as far as non-Imps go, the Alliance has already morphed into the New Republic). It's the forces of a certain smuggler kingpin, making a call to aid Han & Lando in rescuing Luke as well as getting his own 2nd, Mara Jade (still not happy she's sleeveless!), back from Thrawn, who's not exactly the best guy to deal with. And it is epic! It's a shame Luke's gonna destroy that beautiful arch The LAVr Chariot looks about as perfect as can be, too... makes me wanna try building (or seeing others build!) more vehicles from the old West End Games RPG books and all the Art of SW concepts. I know REBELS is gonna milk the Imperial Troop Transport for all its worth in the first couple seasons, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Chariot appear later on, along with Skipray Blastboats (and, since the old X-wing/TIE fighter games could use some love, the Assault Gunboats!), then we might eventually get some official Lego sets of 'em all! Not sure we ever need an official Mole Miner, tho ...but it might make a nice parts-pack (all those curves it'd have!)

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

7127 has brown bricks. BROWN. For a Scout Walker. It's also ridiculously small, and only comes with Chewie... 7657's legs look like they might not be the best, but I kinda like the aesthetic of the 'head' more, and it's got an AT-ST pilot which, while improved in more recent sets, is still a pretty solid figure. I'd stick with that one, but I'm speaking as someone who's never owned nor built either. -

Sure it might look better with a full roof... but it sells the idea of an "abandoned village" better with the roof showing signs of falling into disrepair! The dwarves simply haven't had the time or inclination to patch up the roof of this building. We dwarves may usually make our homes with solid stone over our heads, but a few holes in a wooden roof aren't gonna bother us much. -
I used to hate the Virago as a Star Wars ship... looked like something that had flown out of another property like Babylon 5 or something. But, after the Prequels, TCW, and more, I think it fits in better now... the most annoying thing about Xizor now is that TCW turned all of Black Sun into Falleen. But, it was great to see them all the same, and that Black Sun & Falleen are part of the canon, despite SOTE suffering the same fate as HTTE, NJO, and the rest. Perhaps the Virago will find its way into canon, too (there's always Rebels... if Black Sun recovered from Maul's brief takeover, maybe even Xizor might pop up!) I, too, am more interested in EU minifigs than builds, partly because SW minifigs have kinda replaced Hasbro figures in my collecting habits, partly because there's not quite as many EU vehicles that look really cool as there could/should be (I disliked most of LEGACY's smaller ships, aside from a few like the TIE Predators & Mynock; Chiss Clawcraft are also pretty neat). Too much is just derivative of the movie ships, and too many of those are just kinda so-so. ...doesn't mean I won't try modding the Inquisitor's TIE Advanced into a Clawcraft for fun... And I suspect we might see several more of the concept-art vehicles show up in Rebels. There's a particular small speeder I wanna take a stab at making, but with my rudimentary building skills I wouldn't mind an official set of it someday to tell me how to do it

While I love the Wolfpack, I was never a big Dragon Knight fan... so for that, and the variety, 6103. Stag shield, "Robin Hood & Little John" (as I thought of those two particular decos of Forestmen), a couple Falcons, a heroic Crusader, and a stalwart peasant... if only every 'battle pack' were so well-designed! The peasant actually reminded me that I wish they had a minifig pack like this of just civilians for Castle, like the Town packs. A couple peasants, a merchant, a couple nobles. Even with MMV, MVR, the Kingdoms Advent, and Kingdoms Joust, we're still sorely lacking in non-warrior non-Royal-Family figures (and prints! Not every peasant needs a patched dark tan tunic!) for all our medieval builds.

Hiding in the chest! Looks amazing! Love all the details... the chandelier, the coatrack, all the various little items scattered around. -
I love the build, just not the name "githril"... but the concept of githril, a super-gold like mithril is super-silver, is great! Ideas brewing for githril veins discovered in Mitgardia... A strong temptation for dwarves to seek out, as the masters of mining & metal! Heck, that could be an even stronger reason to invade Avalonia (or any of the other lands) than the threat of the Drow, for some dwarves! I love the upstairs door, and the worried expressions... The Chima head/bat-ears/Lake-Town-body combo is a lot of fun, and the tree looks suitably desert-y!

That's my view of it exactly! The only things I liked about the design were the color scheme and shifting the astromech to in front of the cockpit... only, I didn't really like that bit until TCW began where they adopted that design detail allowing an ENTIRE astromech to fit there, while the Azure Angel undoubtedly followed the AOTC model of "integrated astromechs", i.e. the droid is just a head, built into the ship. I know there's a deleted scene in AOTC of a Jedi hangar with full astromechs rolling around and some JSFs with empty sockets, but the scenes of Obi-Wan's ship that survived made it abundantly clear a full droid absolutely couldn't fit in the ship that way... nor the EU's attempt at making AOTC's R4-P17 a separate droid by saying "Oh, Anakin built a half-size body for her, so Obi-Wan's ship could have a droid". Ridiculous ideas born of a design cheat, unknowingly corrected by whoever designed the Azure Angel, and perfected by Filoni's Clone Wars team. Anyhoo... yeah, the Azure Angel otherwise looks like what so many wrongly dismiss the entire EU as: fanboy creations without any supervision... "Wouldn't it be cool if...?"-syndrome. And a lot of the EU does suffer from that, but there's still so much good in there that isn't just "let's make all the Sith tatted-up like Maul!" (which is actually a bit more forgivable now that Maul survived; when LEGACY began, he was still dead as a doornail at the bottom of a Theed shaft, and nothing much was known about him by anyone aside from Sidious) or "let's make a super weapon that doesn't just destroy planets, it destroys stars!" or "let's have Boba Fett train Han & Leia's daughter so she's got some new moves & attitudes to use against her evil twin brother!"
