Your ideas for new Lego history themes
Grimmbeard replied to Mazin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I can see a Roman/Greek/Classical Theme happening. Yes, there are tons of different units and those empires were huge! So there's no lack in types of sets they can make. Just think of an exclusive Colosseum set! -
Which LEGO Pirate captain is your favorite?
Grimmbeard replied to Captain Roger's topic in LEGO Pirates
I have both versions, but I hadn't noticed this before. Perhaps its an error on LEGO's part? The color at least could be an error, and maybe he lost a leg to the islanders as part of the story? -

The 'Golden Age' of Lego, is it now?
Grimmbeard replied to Hey Joe's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I can agree with this. No matter how many new parts and sets are made, the Lego of our childhood will always be our favorite and our Golden age. -
Cuusoo Space Marines project has reached 10K supporters!

Now this would be a sellable theme. Kids would love it! -
Beautiful ship! Everything about it is so nice, organic, and brickbuilt. This is like something you'd see on an exclusive Lego set.

Great so far! Exited for final pictures .

I own the Clipper, and it's personally my favorite ship. The sails are just plain amazing, and the minifigs too . There are a few problems, such as no back sail and open cabin, but still it's bigger than the flagship and is just overall better. I do, however like the front sail of the flagship, it can be used for just about any ship.

Your ideas for new Lego history themes
Grimmbeard replied to Mazin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I like your idea of a "classical" theme. It could focus on Alexander the Great, Roman, and Persian conquests. I think TLG wouldn't have an issue with country conflict like they would with WWI and II sets and Napoleonic sets. Also for anyone here that likes this idea, I suggest you support the "Lego History Theme" on Cuusoo http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/7893 . It could use some more supporters. I think a nice idea for history sets is that they could provide a "history card" focused on the history of the set. This would make the sets even more educational. -

[pid][/pid] 144A Hello Again! This is my second MOC post, again of a ship. I started this about a year ago, and it was originally intended for a brickfilm I started (perhaps it still is ). I shelved the project for a while, but finished it up quite recently. So, without further ado, I give you, The Ghost of Greybeard's Bounty! Here is the Main Deck. As you can see, it is pretty open and flat. This is because of the filming that would have to take place. Here's the forecastle/front deck. I also tried chaser guns, how'd they come out? Quarterdeck. Head-on shot and Stern shots. Side shot. Captain's Cabin Underdeck Overview Brig Storage/Crew Area Sails Front Custom Sail Back Custom Sail The Crew And that's it! All comments and criticism are welcome ! flikr link: http://www.flickr.co...57632111545392/

If I had a child, and he was a boy, I would definitely go for the Death Star, its a great set for kids and adults alike, I'm sure your kid would love it! If my child was a girl, I'd go for the Friends sets, since I think a girl would enjoy them more then Star Wars.

The 'Golden Age' of Lego, is it now?
Grimmbeard replied to Hey Joe's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the reason kids are lazy is because of video games. They might think "okay, I built this, but it doesn't do anything. Whatever, I'll just play some cod". Lordofdragonss, I agree that there is too much liscense, and that more creative semi liscense would be better. Moschino, I get what you're saying and I too would wish my child would play with older sets, but I think my kid would also want to play with the newest Lego. I would buy my kid some new Lego and let him/her play with my old sets and let him/her decide which they like more. -

When you say the old brick separators, do you mean these? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=630-1 If not, then try using two, one on the top and one on the bottom. It surprisingly works like a charm.

Great MOC and great title!

He was a set designer? It would be great for him to talk about it on Eurobricks, unless he already has.
