I have another idea... Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang were both prefects. Perhaps the other 2 pieces are also prefects for the other houses, meaning that Red is Percy Weasley, and Green is the Slytherin prefect from the same time period. The prefect for Slytherin (before Draco Malfoy) is never named in the books.
-
I'm POSITIVE that Yellow is Cedric Diggory and Blue is Cho Chang. Green is not Zacharias Smith, as he is from the same house as Cedric Diggory; I believe Red may very well be Seamus Finnigan. I have a feeling that Green might be Theodore Nott, as no other mentioned Slytherin characters in the book seem to be "blond" (except Draco).

tin7_creations' LEGO X-Men
tin7_creations replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Alright, last update before I go on vacation. In my last post, I said that I would post Magneto and some of the Brotherhood. I decided to post some of the characters that I created into what I believe to be their "movie form". Erik Lensherr - Magneto The helmet was made by Sculpey, and painted in that "shiny purple". The torso decal is my own design. Pietro Maximoff - Quicksilver This is what I imagine he would look like in the movie universe (I think he should be played by Tom Felton aka. Draco Malfoy). The hair is made from Sculpey and the decal is my own design. Wanda Maximoff - Scarlet Witch I based her "movie" design from her Ultimate version. The decal is my own design. As is the trench coat. Forge My "movie" Forge. Nothing special, I just designed the decals. Jubilation Lee - Jubilee Jubilee did appear in the movie, played by actress Kea Wong. However, she never appeared in an X-Men uniform (she was probably not skilled enough to be part of the team yet). I designed the decals and the trench coat, and I sanded down a LEGO visor to make her glasses. Hope everyone enjoys the new post. I'm going on vacation in 2 days, while I will have internet access and continue to visit EB, I will be unable to make new minifigs until July. When I come back however, I will post Rogue, Shadowcat, Colossus, Storm, and Wolverine. ~tin7 -

"I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town! I challenge you to a gym battle!" ~Ash Ketchum (Anime) Pokédex Entries: [/b]#169 Crobat Crobat, the Bat Pokémon. The evolved form of Golbat. With its two additional wings, Crobat is able to fly much faster than Golbat. Alright, as promised here's Ash, and one of Brock's Pokémon: Crobat. Ash's hat/hair piece is made with Sculpey, as is Crobat. Ash's decal is based on his outfit in the original series; it was created by me. I kind of got carried away having fun with my new X-Men series, and started to neglect this thread a bit . The Pokémon take a very long time to make though, and procrastination took over. So this will be the last post for a while, I will resume posting in this section in August! Hope you all enjoyed this thread so far! ~tin7 -

Just wondering what material you used to make the Spirit trenchcoat, and if you are willing to post a template. Great job! ~tin7 -

Xavier's head came from the Speed Racer Grand Prix set (8161). The Cannonball Taylor minifig: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sr010 You are correct! There are more. I've made most of the characters who appear in the movie already, I will post a few more before I go on vacation! Thanks for all the comments! ~tin7 -
tin7_creations' LEGO X-Men
tin7_creations replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Alright, another addition to my X-Men post. There doesn't seem to be as many replies as I had hoped for; thus I must try to dazzle you guys harder! In this new post, I will complete the original X-Men: First Class. The pictures this time are also sharper; I finally found a better camera setting to take pictures of LEGO. Professor Charles Xavier Nothing too special about this minifig. All purist. I found the design for the wheelchair online, and replicated it. Dr. Jean Grey Sizzling hotness from whom I consider as the hottest girl in the X-Men universe! The decal on the front of the torso was inspired by Figures-Maniac. The back decal on the other hand is my own design, crafted from looking at multiple movie screenshots! Bobby Drake - Iceman After the burning hotness of Jean Grey, we gotta cool down with my favorite X-Men: Iceman. I just changed the color of the decals I used on the previous minifigs; nothing too special. Until I find out how to freeze my minifig effectively, we'll all just have to settle for the Photoshop "Iceman Effect". Warren Worthington III - Angel Angel took quite some time to make. I spent a whole day sculpting his wings. The wings are made of Sculpey. Dr. Hank McCoy - Beast Beast's hair is made of Sculpey, and all the decal designs are my own. Cain Marko - Juggernaut I believe that I have posted this Juggernaut before, but I made a new face decal for it. The torso decal is by ED-209, and can be found in the MCW Index. That's all folks! Next time I post, I hope to add some characters from the Brotherhood of Mutants (ie. Magneto, Mystique, Quicksilver, etc. etc.) Hope everyone enjoyed this new post! Looking forward to your comments/critcisms! ~tin7 -
omg... i absolutely love the hourglass... i tried making something similar (in green) late last year (for a MOC with Riddler); it didn't turn out to well so I scrapped it. but your idea and use of the glass dome piece is really good. ~tin7

I mentioned in my Pokémon thread in April that I was working on a new series of minifigs. The X-Men are my overall favorite superheroes, and I loved the films no matter how much the third one tanked I went through all the minifigs I've made over the past year, and I realized something... I've never made the X-Men! I've made movie versions of The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, most of Spider-Man's foes... but no X-Men! I know that the X-Men have been done before by everyone and their grandmothers; but I like to put my own spin on the minifigs, plus I plan to create "movie versions" of some characters who weren't actually in the movies. So, periodically in this thread, I will upload my X-Men minifigs, starting off with these four characters. Scott Summers - Cyclops The ruby-quartz visors are made with Sculpey (as usual). The decal on the front of the torso was inspired by Figures-Maniac (technically, I just changed the color ) The back decal on the other hand is my own design, crafted from looking at multiple movie screenshots! Remy LeBeau - Gambit Gambit would not have been possible had it not been for the release of the Prince of Persia sets; Dastan's hair works perfectly for a movie version of Gambit. For this series, I'm also going to do something I haven't done in a long time: Post Decals. The Reason: There was a guy on flickr who copied everything I did, without bothering to credit me. He would take my decals claiming them as his own etc etc. I'm sure all of you have encountered someone like that. Anyway, I'm a nice guy, and didn't want to block him for no reason. Last week, he made a racist comment on flickr, and I finally had the excuse I was looking for. Now that I've finally gotten rid of the guy, I can post some decals. Frederick J. Dukes - The Blob This is actually a really easy minifig to make. I just lumped large amounts of Sculpey on the torso and head to create the excess weight for The Blob. After adding the weight, I painted the pieces, and then applied decals on top. Nice and lumpy, wish I could have added some fat to the arms though. Callisto The decal for this fig was fun to design. I painted a Padmé hairpiece black for her hair. The decals in the embedded photos might be too small to use; so here's a link to my X-Men set on flickr so you guys can get bigger versions of the decals (tin7_creations' flickr). I have a few more minifigs from this series completed, I will post them next week when I have time! I hope to post 4-5 more before I leave for vacation. Hope everyone enjoyed these! Looking forward to your comments! ~tin7 UPDATES May 14, 2010: Prof. X, Jean, Iceman, Angel, Beast & Juggernaut May 19, 2010: Magneto, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Forge, Jubilee

Hello fellow EB members, I just have a question about sanding LEGO, what grit size do I use for sanding LEGO? Specifically a trans-red visor. Thanks, ~tin7

"I'm Brock! I'm Pewter's Gym Leader! I believe in rock hard defense and determination! That's why my Pokémon are all the Rock-type! Do you still want to challenge me? Fine then! Show me your best!" ~ Brock (Pokémon Red & Blue) The terminal ladies man: Pokédex Entries: #027 Sandshrew Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon. Sandshrew hates moisture and lives in holes it digs in dry places. It protects itself by curling into a ball. #074 Geodude Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Geodude is often found on mountain roads with half of its body buried in the ground so it can observe mountain travelers. I'm finally done all my exams and can post Brock. Brock's hair is made with Sculpey, as are the two Pokémon. The decals are my own design as well. Sandshrew is one of my favorite Pokémon; I decided to add him into the Brock post because Sandshrew is the first Pokémon you fight when you enter Brock's gym in the video games (assuming you didn't take the short route to bypass all the trainers). I haven't taken a picture of Brock together with his Pokémon yet, since I want to make a few more to add in. Hope everyone likes the new additions! ~tin7 P.S. The Ash figure is done; I want to make a few more Pokémon for both Ash and Brock before making a new post. Although school is out, I haven't had the chance to get to those Pokémon yet, as I'm working on another series of figs (which I know you guys will absolutely LOVE once I post them ). I will make at least one more addition to this thread before going on vacation in May! -

All right, a quick update! I mentioned in my last post that I couldn't figure out how to make Staryu yet... well I got around that; and I ended up making Starmie as well! They are not actually hard Pokémon to make... don't know how I overlooked that. All you do is make a star shape in Sculpey, trim in down with a knife, and add detail! I was asked earlier when I would incorporate more LEGO pieces into my Pokémon figs, so for Starmie, I gave it an attack! So anyway, I bring you the final two Pokémon from Misty's roster that I plan to make; I'm interested in filling out her roster by making Psyduck, Corsola, and Goldeen as well (these are Pokémon that she used quite frequently in the show). However, I'm going on vacation in May and won't be back until July; so I probably won't make them until then. They are on my to-do-list though! Here's Misty with Staryu and Starmie: And Misty with her main roster: Pokédex Entries: #120 Staryu Staryu, the Star Shaped Pokémon. The core of this Water Pokémon shines in a rainbow of seven colors, a core that is valued by some as a type of jewelry. #121 Starmie Starmie, Mysterious Pokémon. Starmie swims through water by spinning its star-shaped body as if it were a propeller on a ship. The center core glows brightly in seven colors. Because of its luminous nature, this Pokémon has been given the nickname "the gem of the sea." Once again, Misty's hair is made with Sculpey, as are the two Pokémon. The decals are my own design as well. I'll have Ash and Brock finished by mid-May; but after that, I'm going on a holiday at the end of May and won't be back until July, so I won't be able to post anything new until at least mid-July. Hope everyone enjoyed this post! ~tin7 P.S. Expect Brock by the end of the month (he's done, just need to add a few Pokémon), and Ash sometime in May! -
this is awesome! brings back memories

You're JOKING! Which company? The manga company or the anime studio? But regardless; RESPECT!
-
I've actually had the figure complete in January. However, I was waiting for the coat to arrive before posting it. This is Edward Elric from the Fullmetal Alchemist series: The hair is made in Sculpey, and the decal is a custom design: The jewel of this minifig however, is the beautifully crafted coat made by Unknown Artist Studio. He worked so hard on it; notice the back printing too! Hope everyone likes this, ~tin7 *Note: This is the only Fullmetal Alchemist minifig that I will make. To make more I would need to order at least 5 more of these coats; and that just makes it too costly!

"Hi, you're a new face! Trainers who want to turn pro have to have a policy about Pokémon! What is your approach when you catch Pokémon? My policy is an all-out offensive with water-type Pokémon!" ~ Misty (Pokémon Red & Blue) Misty with the two Pokémon she hatched from eggs: Pokédex Entries: #175 Togepi Togepi, the Spike Ball Pokémon. Togepi is filled with an energy that makes people happy. When treated well, Togepi shares this energy with others, but when it comes near a human with an impure heart this energy quickly disappears, leaving Togepi exhausted. #298 Azurill Azurill, the Water Ball Pokémon. Azurill is able to throw its tail like a lasso, using the momentum to move about. I finally managed to finish Misty and her two Pokémon. I wanted to make Staryu too, but I haven't figured out how to make a star shape in Sculpey yet. Misty's hair is made with Sculpey, as are the two Pokémon. The decals are my own design as well. I will try to update more often; I'll have Ash and Brock finished by mid-May; but after that, I'm going on a holiday at the end of May and won't be back until July, so I won't be able to post anything new until at least mid-July. Hope everyone enjoyed this post! ~tin7 P.S. Expect Brock by the end of the month, and Ash sometime in May! -

It wasn't a particularly good movie; but I thought it was enjoyable none the less, since it was able to inspire me to create figs. -

I made a vignette with the minifigs from this post: This is the scene where the heroes are fighting the large scorpions. The scorpion is modified from the Knights' Kingdom set: Scorpion Prison Cave (8876). Hope everyone likes it! ~tin7 -
oh wow; i love this, simple and effective... one thing though; Mega Man should be uber short, instead of attaching a 1x1 plate, maybe you can think about adding dark blue decals to the legs instead! but great job anyway!
