  1. Hello all! This is something I've been working on for almost 3 months; and I have decided to post the figs altogether. I will be making "M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender" into a trilogy of collectible minifigures. I know the movie has been over for a while now, and it utterly failed; however, there's still a pretty consistent fanbase here on EB, as well as all over the internet, so I hope these series appeal to some people! I just finished Series #1 recently, and finally got around to posting it! Here's the checklist for Series #1: I will not be mass producing these; the checklist is just for fun! Here's a group pic: I've posted some of these already; here are the close-up of each individual minifig! #01 - Aang #02 - Katara #03 - Sokka #04 - Uncle Iroh #05 - Princess Yue #06 - Admiral Zhao #07 - King Bumi #08 - Avatar Roku #09 - Monk Gyatso #10 - Haru That is the entirety of Series #1. I will post Series #2 in a few weeks; or if the feedback is good! Thank you so much! Hope everyone enjoys! ~tin7 P.S. Coming Soon: "Marvel Cinematic Universe Collectible Minifigure Series"
  2. Ok. 2 problems with this amazing set: 1) Where is Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes? 2) Why does Hermione have the same clothes as Ginny in The Burrow? I was hoping for another new female torso. Unless this is considered prelim? But otherwise; I love the inclusion of Ollivanders; and Fred and George are exquisite!
  3. Haha; great review. Sorry to point this out though... in the first picture... the rat's name is "Scabbers" not "Scatters"...
  4. Four words: Awesome. Love The Fatman.
  5. must... have... that... bone piece!!! Plus, a collection of at least 2-3 of every ninja fig!
  6. I didn't get any email yet either. I made my order on the day they became available on lego.com... i really hope they didn't run out in the first month...
  7. Hi fellow customizers! This is my entry to the Let's Go Cosplay Contest! Theme: Marvel Superheroes Character: Thor Cost: It's $5 CAD for a block of Sculpey. I used 1/5 of a block to create my custom pieces which is about $1 CAD. Plus a dark green cape from MMCB which (according to Bricklink) amounts to $1.53 CAD. So altogether, my fig costs around $3 CAD. Additional Images: Randall goes to Comic Con! Alright, here we go! Everyone, meet Randall. He works part-time at a comic book store, and part-time as a Starbucks Barista! Randall is going somewhere special today, and he must dress up accordingly. Who should he dress as? "OH! I know who to go as! I've got the perfect costume to celebrate this exciting occasion!" Wanna know where Randall is going today? It's like the Mecca for comic book fans all around the world! But what booth is this? O-M-G!!!! (Geeky squeal!!) It's the Marvel booth for the upcoming Avengers movie!!!! Randall has the perfect costume!!...? But wait... Let's examine his costume more closely. The helmet and armour looks exactly like the movie, although they can probably be found at any costume store. The cape however... any self-respecting Marvel fan knows that Thor has a red cape! Why is he carrying a gun? Where's Thor's hammer Mjolnir? Here's what the entire vignette looks like: Half of it is Randall's bathroom, the other half is the Comic Con booth. The non-LEGO items in the vignette: - Captain America's shield is a painted BrickForge Round Shield. - Iron Man's helmet is from Christo on eBay (I have showcased this one before; but since it's not part of the actual entry, I think it should be okay!) - Thor's hammer Mjolnir is my own Sculpey creation. Hope everyone enjoyed entry! Comments and feedback appreciated! ~tin7
  8. This is so adorable that it made me want to tickle his tummy! Good job!
  9. Just to clarify, when you say "Your custom figure must be showcased in an 8x8 vignette, showing how it blends into the LEGO world." Do you mean how the character's cosplay would fit into a real world situation, or how his cosplay would fit into a cosplay situation? Or do we have to show the character in his daily life; and then in a cosplay situation?
  10. Finally! The Hagrid and Harry figs in correct proportional sizes!
  11. It's all basic economics really. New competition = lower price = poorer quality = decrease in quantity (set-wise, not production-wise). While price-wise it would benefit the consumer, the lowering of quality and quantity will not. Hopefully LEGO has a big enough market, and a mass of loyal consumers, and the clone brands won't sell as well.
  12. I just pre-ordered my set from LEGO.com, never made an order there before, just wondering how it would arrive. Does lego mail through an express postal service?
  13. FOUND #4!! No skis indeed, very clever for whoever concealed this clue so well, yet so easy to find at the same time!
  14. i didn't know #2 either, i just happened to pass through that particular area of the forum before; took me 10 seconds to realize where it was!
  15. so far so good. fig #3 was especially easy!
  16. Hi everyone! Thanks for all the great feedback! There's a great number of characters to work with in the cartoon, I plan to make most of the major/recurring characters (in M. Night Shyamalan 'style'). I know that I haven't posted any side views or back views of the minifigs, but I will get to it once I complete the entire series (which current plans tell me will contain approximately 25 minifigs). So, without further ado, I bring you installment #2 from my Last Airbender Minifig Series: Uncle Iroh: Fire Lord Ozai: Mai: The Mai minifig is my own interpretation of what the character would look like in M. Night's adaption. The "human" character in the corner is just a cosplay girl, and I put her in shadow to represent the character is 'yet to be revealed'. Azula: Azula - my favorite character from the series. I am not very happy with how this minifig turned out. There's just something 'wrong', and I can't quite put my finger on it. I couldn't find a good picture of Azula from the movie (since she only appeared for 2 seconds), so I found another cosplay girl picture on google; and also shadowed her a bit. The good news is, the next batch of characters is almost complete. All the decals are finished, as are the Sculpey pieces. The bad news: all I need now are for the necessary parts from my Bricklink orders to arrive! Once again, the decals are all my own design! Plus, everything that doesn't look like LEGO is Sculpey! Cheers! ~tin7 P.S. The next batch of characters will be Ty Lee, Admiral Zhao, Jet, and Long Feng. I'll post them when I post them! (Should be ready in 2 weeks; or whenver the Canadian postal system chooses to release them to me.) I'm also currently in the process of designing King Bumi, the Dai Li, as well as the Cabbage Merchant. As I said, there are currently 25 minifigs planned in this series; I want to make it a full 30 - suggestions anyone?
  17. I will post some more in a few days, just waiting for parts to arrive!
  18. i really don't care what this new set is. as long as it contains the weasley twins! I'm assuming that if it's Diagon Alley, then they'll include Weasley's Wizarding Weezes!!!
  19. can you give us at least a very very little hint?
  20. Thanks! Well, she does snicker quite a bit in the cartoon, especially in Season 3... It's always wonderful to hear when people can't differentiate my customs from LEGO; that's like the biggest compliment! Thanks! I thought of that too when I created the decal. The thing is though, 'age' really wasn't a factor in M. Night's casting choices, I just assumed he would cast someone who is 13-15 to play a 12-year-old, so I gave her some slight curves in the design. Oh, right! I completely forgot to take photographs of the figs in other angles. I'll fix that in an update!
  21. I'm finally back from vacation! The first batch of minifigs I decided to make after returning is from M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender. The movie SUCKED! However, I really liked MNS' costume designs, adding a more realistic aspect to the characters from the beloved cartoon. In this topic, I will post minifigs from my Last Airbender series; I doubt there will be sequels, but I'm still going to create "M. Night" style characters that were not in the movie. SO first off, I give you Team Avatar: Aang: Katara: Sokka: Zuko: Suki: One of my favorite characters in the cartoon; due to M. Night's stupidity, she was cut from the movie. The creation of this minifig was based entirely upon pre-released promotional material. It turned out better than I thought! Toph: The Toph minifig is my own interpretation of what the character would look like in M. Night's adaption. The "human" character in the corner is just a cosplay girl, and I put her in shadow to represent the character is 'yet to be revealed'. The decals are all my own design! Plus, everything that doesn't look like LEGO is Sculpey! I will continue adding to this topic, so check back often! Cheers! ~tin7 P.S. The next batch of characters will be Ty Lee, Admiral Zhao, Jet, and Long Feng. I'll post them when I post them! (Hopefully before school starts again in September...) Updates: August 15, 2010: Uncle Iroh, Fire Lord Ozai, Mai and Azula
  22. that's a pig; you can get those in farm sets It's this part right here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87621pb01
  23. I don't mind that Ron isn't in the Burrow or Hogwarts sets; what I'm pissed about is the lack of Hermione in causual clothes, and lack of Luna in uniform. Harry, Ron and Ginny all have casual and uniforms.
  24. WHOAAA!! This is so incredible! Knew it was coming, but didn't expect it to show up @ Comic Con.
