  1. oh wow... this set is beautiful; unfortunately it came out during a period when new LEGO sets were banned at my house; so I never managed to get one.
  2. great review! the turtle is the only thing that would tempt me to get this set however....
  3. 3 Lego sets? or 3 Themes? This title is held by the actor who spans the most themes; not the most sets...
  4. I just watched Clash of the Titans today; and the movie inspired me to create minifigs of the two leads. Perseus (played by Sam Worthington of Avatar fame): Io (played by Gemma Arterton; who is also playing Princess Tamina in Prince of Persia): Group Shot: All the decals were designed by me; and everything else is LEGO. Perseus' head is an Indy head with the mustache erased! I especially enjoyed the convenience of re-using Princess Tamina's head and hairpiece (same girl, same style - in both movies)! Hope everyone likes these! ~tin7
  5. Harrison Ford use to hold this title, with both his characters of Han Solo and Indiana Jones made into minifig form. However, today, I was watching the trailer for Prince of Persia and I noticed that actor Alfred Molina has gained another character! His first LEGO minifig was Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2; followed a few years later by Satipo from Raiders of the Lost Ark. This year, he gets a new minifig in Sheik Amar from the Prince of Persia license. Please give a warm round of applause to the new title holder for "Actor With the Most Minifig Representations Within a Span of LEGO Licenses"! Alfred Molina: This was kind of stupid! But I think we should thank him for staring in so many LEGO worthy themes! ~tin7
  6. How come we don't get Princess Tamina in THIS costume?? It's a sin to not give us that torso design!!
  7. well. obviously i don't paint official lego pieces... and I forgot to photoshop the last picture.
  8. After I got the new Prince of Persia set, I couldn't resist making this. Vega vs. Ken Market Place Fight! K.O. Vega Win! Don't judge me on the pictures... there were too many pictures for me to photoshop a background into it; they are a bit sloppy. The new pieces work really well for Street Fighter characters! Hope you liked this! ~tin7
  9. INCREDIBLE!!!! Appa! Yip Yip! Hope to see more Avatar MOCs from you! ~tin7
  10. Tamah's head reminds me of something I would use as Wolverine!!
  11. Actually, the language on the box is Chinese, and the character in this set is Wei Yan. He was a military general of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms era of China. As history tells us, Wei Yan was a very arrogant man and others tended to avoid him. Hope this clears up the confusion on whether the set is Korean or Chinese. ~tin7
  12. I can't believe I forgot to post a link to the store: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=AMAZING_ARMORY The guitar set is categorized under "Minifig Weapons"... I think the orange headpiece sold out!! I brought 4 of them; so I'm satisfied!
  13. I need to buy about 20 of these! 10 for a cheer squad... and 10 for extra parts!
  14. The guitar set comes with 8 guitars. so unfortunately, you can't pick any single guitar to purchase.
  15. Alright, this is my first review! I recently received my package from Amazing Armory's Hazel. I must say, I was impressed. The shipping was fast and efficient; not only that, but the packaging his parts arrived in was INCREDIBLE! The packaging is exquisite; and I'm sure it's pretty expensive, which is probably the reason for his pieces being quite pricey. Here's the front of the Guitar Set box: Here's the back of the box: Here's a bag that the parts came in; all the headpieces came individually wrapped in similar bags as well. He also has a calling card! It's a plastic card! It might not be anything special; but there's just something I find extremely cool about a plastic card!! Alright! Onto the products! The set comes with 8 guitars and 2 guitar cases. I'm going to display each guitar with a different 'musicians'. The lead singers: Included within this photo is also the orange pigtail headpiece. That's also from Hazel, it doesn't fit too perfectly. The lead guitarists: In this photo is Hazel's top hat. It's got very detailed stitching! But it's a bit of a tight fit; it requires a bit more of a push to get it on. The lead basses: Here's a picture of each of the guitars, and the two guitar cases: I don't like the guitar cases too much though; look at the picture and you'll understand why: The cases are much too oversized; the minifigs can't even hold them properly. As for the material used for the pieces, It's a hard plastic, which I believe to be ABS; since they feel like LEGO and sound like LEGO when I drop them on the table... Score: Shipping: 8/10 Can't really blame Hazel for this, since Canada Post sucks... Packaging: 10/10 The packaging is expensive; so it must be worth full marks Products: 8.5/10 The designs are great, but they are a bit tight on the pieces. Quality: 9.5/10 The material used is like real LEGO! Overall Average: 9/10 Hazel passes with flying colors! Hope you guys enjoy this review! ~tin7
  16. Hi JDizzle1020, and welcome to Eurobricks! I use Sculpey to make the hair parts. Sculpey is a polymer clay that hardens when baked or boiled. Here's a tutorial you can refer to: Sculpey Tutorial Hope this helps! ~tin7
  17. If I was a Pokemon... I would be a Charizard... I really hate using face decals; I didn't plan on using face decals in the series, however, after realizing that a face decal would make the figure look better, I decided to make face decals. Ash has been updated; I gave him a face, but I still need to work on the headpieces. I've already linked to the first post! Giovanni fig... MAYBE... but it will be sometime in July when I come back from summer vacation. No, I won't make the big ones... it's because I think the bigger Pokemon should have the capabilities to move their joints, and I can't make that with Sculpey. The Lego-ish look is the hardest part
  18. Motto #1 (Original Version) Prepare for trouble… … And make it double. To protect the world from devastation… … To unite all peoples within our nation. To denounce the evils of truth and love… … To extend our reach to the stars above. Jessie! James! Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light… … Surrender now or prepare to fight! MEOWTH! That’s right! Motto #2 (Sinnoh Version) Listen, is that a voice I hear? It’s speaking to me loud and clear. On the wind! Past the stars! In your ear! Bringing chaos at a breakneck pace… … Dashing hope, putting fear in its place. A rose by any other name is just as sweet… … When everything’s worse, our work is complete. Jessie… … James… … And Meowth, now dat’s a name! Putting the do-gooders in their place… … We’re Team Rocket… … In your face! Wobba! Mime, mime, mime! Pokédex Entries: #052 Meowth Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon. It loves to roam at night to gather coins and other objects that sparkle, but it spend most of the daylight hours sleeping. #202 Wobbuffet Wobbuffet, the Patient Pokémon. They like to live in dark areas so they can keep their pitch black tail concealed. Wobbuffet are unable to initiate attacks. #439 Mime Jr. Mime Jr., the Mime Pokémon. It can quickly imitate anyone it sees. It can sense people's emotions as well, and when it senses danger it will erect a barrier, so it can escape. FINALLY! I've been working on Team Rocket for almost 2 weeks now. I've been procrastinating on school work, which is why the Team Rocket update came 20 days early! However, I have a major essay due in 2 weeks, meaning I won't be updating until early April. Jessie and James hair, as well as the three Pokémon are made from Sculpey. The face and torso decals are my own. Hope everyone enjoys this new post! ~tin7 P.S. Next up: Misty with some of her signature Pokémon (Togepi, Staryu, and Azurill). The deadline I set for this is April 16; but hopefully I can get it done faster...
  19. All right, a short unexpected update! I know I said the next update would be Team Rocket, but Rayman gave me a suggestion: Make Voltorb. Quite truthfully... Voltorb and its evolve form Electrode are the EASIEST Pokémon to make... don't know how I overlooked that. So anyway, I bring you two Pokémon who have somewhat of a connection to Team Rocket; both Voltorb and Electrode make frequent appearances in the anime, and are sometimes the ones behind Team Rocket's "blast offs". I also decided to re-post Pikachu, since he's the one usually responsible for Team Rocket's "blast offs". Pokédex Entries: #025 Pikachu Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. It can generate electric attacks from the electric pouches located in both of its cheeks. #100 Voltorb Voltorb, the Ball Pokémon. This mysterious Pokémon uses strong Electric attacks, and is often found near power plants. Use extreme caution; Voltorb may explode without warning. #101 Electrode Electrode, the Ball Pokémon. The evolved form of Voltorb. Highly concentrated electric energy causes this Pokémon to explode unpredictably. Also known as the Bomb-ball. Everything is made with Sculpey, and hand painted. Hope everyone enjoyed this new post! ~tin7 P.S. Next up: Team Rocket (For real this time!) UPDATE: James, Meowth, Wobbuffet are ALL completed; they are waiting for Jessie to join them, I have also decided to add a little surprise: Mime Jr. Once the whole group is together, they can be photographed. The sculpting of Mime Jr. and Jessie's hair are done; they are just waiting for the fine tuning and paint job.
  20. i notice that you paint over all your parts. do you buy spare parts to paint on? because I would never paint some of the pieces you paint unless I have at least 3 copies of each.
  21. I got Sculpey at my local crafts store here in Vancouver. Here's their website.
  22. Of course you can try making one! Let me give you some tips. 1) Make the base stand first. If you're using Sculpey, roll it into a ball, and press it onto LEGO studs, that way after you cure the stand, it would fit back onto the studs; cure it. 2) After you have a hardened base, you can sculpt your Pokemon on top of the base, makes your life MUCH easier. PM me if you need any further advice. ~tin7
  23. I doubt I'll make the ones from the Kanto Region, I will try though. Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny are on my list though. What I'm trying to do is: 1) Make a character from the anime 2) Give this character 1 or 2 of his/her signature Pokemon (No evolved forms though, cause those would be harder to make, which is why there's a Charmander, but there never will be a Charizard). I had to find my old game and restart it to copy out exactly what Oak said in the beginning; I also meshed it with what Professor Rowan says in the beginning of Diamond and Pearl. I will try to make reference/homage to memorable dialogue/gags in the anime and games for each addition to this series that I post. March 31st will be my next post, stay tuned. Ash is getting a new hairstyle, and new costumes, I will post him again later (once I figure out how to give him removable hats, since he has 3 different hats in the series). Thanks for all the comments, they're really encouraging! ~tin7 Update: Wobbuffett and Meowth are done; still working on Jessie's hair... much much much harder than I imagined.
  24. There will be plenty more to come once I find time to make them. Right now, I'm officially swamped with schoolwork (all through March actually), but I'll be less busy mid-April, so hopefully, by May, I will have made everything I had planned. I plan to make all the starters, so Piplup is actually on t he list; can't say the same for the other 2 though. I actually did think about making a different color for the base, but all the other pieces are the same color on the base, so for consistency, I decided against it. Do Brock and Misty count? I've already got decals for them completed (all their outfits, from all the seasons), now I just need to wait for the parts to arrive. The other Gym Leaders are on the list, way way wayyyy down near the bottom. One reason being that there are just too many Gym Leaders (8 for each 'region', 4 regions = 32 Gym Leaders). I would sooner make the Elite Four before I make the Gym Leaders. It takes me about 3 days to make 1 figure piece. One day to plan and sculpt, one day to refine and detail, and one day to paint. You can pay me to make one for you especially, but you'll have to pay lots (assume the cost of 3 days of labor). So unless you can find someone to make molds and mass market them for me... unfortunately, I cannot help you. Though you are welcome to show your siblings the pictures of LEGO Pokemon, maybe that would get them to sleep... Thank you for all the comments! Update: Decals for all main characters are complete (except May); I promised Team Rocket before the end of March, and I intend to keep that promise. Jame's hair is complete, and Jessie's hair is easier to make. Characters included in Team Rocket set: Meowth, Wobbuffett (those will take about a week). Cheers, ~tin7
  25. Hello there! It's so very nice to meet you! So you want to be a Pokemon trainer? Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Oak! However, people just call me the Pokémon professor! This world is widely inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon! We humans live alongside Pokémon as friends. At times we play together, and at other times we work together. For some people, Pokémon are pets. Others use them for battle and develop closer bonds with them. Myself? I conduct research so that we may learn more about Pokémon. Now, tell me what is your name? [insert name here] you say? A fine name that is! Well, please choose a starter Pokémon. The specific starter Pokémon available vary from region to region. In Kanto, trainers can choose between Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle. All right, [insert name here], the time has come. Your very own tale of grand adventure is about to unfold. On your journey, you will meet countless Pokémon and people. I'm sure that along the way you will discover many things, perhaps even something about yourself. Now, go on, leap into the world of Pokémon! Pokédex Entries: #001 Bulbasaur Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon. It bears the seed of a plant on its back from birth. The seed slowly develops. Researchers are unsure whether to classify Bulbasaur as a plant or animal. Bulbasaur are extremely calm and are difficult to capture in the wild. #004 Charmander Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. A flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out. #007 Squirtle Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. It draws its long neck into its shell to launch incredible water attacks with amazing range and accuracy. The blasts can be quite powerful. Oak's hair is made with Sculpey, and his decal is my own design. Every Pokémon piece is made entirely out of Sculpey, and LEGO pieces can be attached to them to make attacks. I will try to update this thread as much as possible with every addition to my Pokémon series; so check back often! Hope everyone enjoyed the first post! ~tin7 I'm going to add links to the updates in the first post; just in case people miss them: March 10, 2010: Pikachu, Voltorb, and Electrode March 11, 2010: Team Rocket April 12, 2010: Misty April 22, 2010: Staryu & Starmie April 29, 2010: Brock May 16, 2010: Ash & Crobat Up next: Hiatus!
