  1. it does show who we're gonna get in the set though; marcus flint, madam hooch, oliver wood are all new in flesh. minor disappointment in the oliver wood fig though; it's Mutt from Indy with Gryffindor uniform...
  2. new hair for ron, ginny, luna looks awesome... can't wait can't wait!! october can't come fast enough! mcgonagall, dobby flesh head, new lucius malfoy, a new face for hermione, in the Burrow theme, there are 2 figs who I assume to be Molly and Arthur Weasley... and a snip of Fenrir Greyback too (don't see Bellatrix though)!! These are just prelim pics, can't wait for some official ones! the fact that I'm repeating this all from memory is astounding... shows how much I want these.
  3. i think that they're gonna take down the cauldron in BC Place... there's another cauldron down by the Vancouver Convention Center that's going to be lit.
  4. seriously; if the same thing with the pillar happened in Beijing 2 years ago; the guy who designed the mechanism would get killed... i wonder if they ended up raising the final pole.
  5. yup, it's based on the second season; i might make some of the other characters. since i'm working on a series of anime characters right now. currently i'm planning on a fullmetal alchemist fig.
  6. Alright, it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I've been super busy, but soon I will have 2 weeks off of school thanks to the Winter Olympics (I live in Vancouver). So, I've began creating again. The first fig I did is the title character from the anime/manga Naruto. Front: Back: The hair took incredibly long; the length of the entire process taught me that anime hair is incredibly hard to make The Sculpey headgear and decals were all done by myself. Look forward to more figs throughout the next few weeks. Enjoy! ~tin7
  7. hmmm... if each box contains 60 figs, is the equally spread? or is there guarantee that one can receive at least one of each fig? cuz I might just save up a load of money and go out and buy an entire box of 60....
  8. The Burrow sounds the most promising actually, and according to the news it said "most of the Weasleys", so I believe that it would include Ron, Ginny, Fred, George, and PERHAPS Molly and Arthur. Bill, Charlie and Percy aren't really 'central' characters of the Weasley family, so I doubt we'll see them in minifg. I always wanted a Ginny fig (in flesh), and now LEGO is giving me one (with a new headpiece too!). Hurray for LEGO! One thing I would hope for is the inclusion of more villains; Death Eaters like Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Fenrir Greyback should be included. I also hope they would make a new version of Voldemort; I didn't like the first one very much. Another thing I hope for (to be included in the castle set) are the professors. We had McGonagall, but I like my figs in flesh; we also had Snape and Trelawney; but I really wish to see the other 2 Heads of House. And PLEASE PLEASE have a Luna fig. Maybe not all of that is wishful thinking... absolutely can't wait to see the sets; but the official pictures won't be released until at least Feb 14 when the Toy Fair starts... sigh... ~tin7
  9. I'm sure many of you who come to this forum have seen my custom minifigs. I don't have any decal printing technology, so I use sticker labels. The problem is, the colors for my labels never come out exactly the same as the pieces. I use the bricklink color list to find colors for my design. But they never print out the same; most of the time, the decal is much lighter in color than the plastic. So... after that long piece of gibberish... I just want to ask if anyone knows how i can rectify this color problem I have. thanks ~tin7
  10. oh wow, beautiful. please tell me if you'll ever mass produce these for sale; i'll buy a few! could u by any chance tell me how u made that hat? sculpey or?
  11. I wonder if you've seen this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/arealight/3208061809/ this is a tail piece done by Arealight, something to get you started!
  12. love these. when will we see the puddy tat?
  13. Sony didn't just fire Sam Raimi. They fired Tobey Macguire as well. They are completely rebooting it; and gonna cast a younger actor to play peter parker.
  14. i think the license with warner bros was for the harry potter franchise spanning all the films and everything tied to them. however, lego ran out of things to make for the films after movie 5... and i believe that they chose to make a game instead, and then sets to tie in with the opening of the theme park. so i don't think the license ever ended, i think they were just looking for something to do with it. ~tin7
  15. ooh. a very good post. this is tempting me to make a 'Review' of my own customs... I might do just that! ~tin7
  16. The pictures look interesting; but until I see the minifigs clearly, I'll reserve judgment on these sets. They look like a combination of Speed Racer and Agents; I'm hoping that LEGO would release some new faces and headpieces with these sets though. ~tin7
  17. wow, this won't be cheap. even the two smaller sets have so many figs... i lo them though; especially the ostrich race; if it is around $20, i won't mind buying a few to get a flock of ostriches for a zoo!
  18. you are correct! they were painted
  19. Please tell me these will appear in Canadian Toysrus? There's no Lego store, or Legoland in Canada; so there's no way for me to buy them if they don't show up in Toysrus!
  20. oh i love you! awesome review. i will buy so many of these sets!!
  21. I've created a bunch of new Marvel figs, including Hawkeye, The Vision, The Juggernaut, and The Fantastic Four. Clint Barton - Hawkeye: The decal was actually created by our own ED-209 (his Green Arrow decal), I changed the color to purple to be used for Hawkeye. The Vision: The decals are all my own, and I had to paint the head green as I had no spare green heads, so bear with the weird coloring! Cain Marko - The Juggernaut: Based on the movie version, the decal is by ED-209. Reed Richards - Mister Fantastic: The decal is my own design, based on the movie costume. I actually painted some grayish-white on the side of his headpiece, but it doesn't show up too well. Susan Storm - The Invisible Woman: The decal is my own design, based on the movie costume. Otherwise, nothing special. Ben Grimm - The Thing: The torso for The Thing was created in the same way as my Incredible Hulk fig. I used Sculpey to add 'bulk' to the fig, and used rock monster arms. The head is just one of my many trademark Sculpey helmets There is a belt decal for him though, again, my design. Johnny Storm - The Human Torch: There is absolutely nothing special about my Human Torch fig; same decal as Mister Fantastic, thus, Mutt in a Fantastic Four suit. Group Shot! I plan to make Doctor Doom sometime soon, so stay tuned! (Try and imagine: Death Eater head, BrickForge dark green space marine armour, black torso, black legs, black cape, and a black hood). Enjoy! ~tin7
  22. Does anyone know how to make custom transparent pieces? Like, is there a substance out there, like epoxy or Sculpey that I can make as transparent. Also, not just transparent clear, but also in transparent-red, blue etc. etc. ~tin7
  23. I bought it at this store on ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/christo7108/m.html?_d...p=12&_rdc=1 But it doesn't seem like he's selling anymore.
  24. Alright, my Avengers are finally complete. I have showcased many of them before; here are the previous posts: OLD Captain America Hulk and Iron Man For this post, I have completed 'my team', adding Thor and The Black Widow: Thor The Black Widow I have also made an update on my Captain America fig; adding white to his arms: Finally, this is the picture for the complete team: With Close-ups: Last but not least, as a treat, I made the first comic book cover of Lego Avengers; though I do not plan to do a comic: If I figure out how to make War Machine, Hawkman, Wasp, and Giant Man, I may add them too, but for now this is all! Hope you enjoy! ~tin7
  25. I know everyone and their grandmothers have made a Captain America minifig, but I thought I should give it a try anyway! There are still many things I would like to modify on the fig. For one thing, I would need to reprimand Lego for not making any dark blue heads; I did a horrible paint job on a yellow head and couldn't match the color, so the head is a little darker tone than the rest of the fig. The decals I think are fine, but I need to find a better way to apply the sticker to the shield; I made 8 cuts from the edge of the shield to the blue center, but it still mucks up, you can actually see each distinctive cut on the shield; there are 8 lines leading to the center, and I have no idea how to fix that. Maybe I should use a shield that's not as "round". Finally, I would like to ask one question. The wings on his head, should I make them in Sculpey and glue them on, or should I just leave it the way it is? Hope you enjoy! ~tin7
