Surely a well deserved win! If there's somewhen a similar contest, there is no doubt that I will participate again. I don't care if there's a price (althought it has been a major reason why I participated in this one), because it was a great experience and a LEGO builder I knew from this forum became a good friend of me. So I hope there's going to be something similar in the near future .

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
I use the PotC cannibal head: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=3626bpb573 together with the werewolf (series 4) hair or a black jedi hood. I agree that plain heads look pretty awesome. -
This is, after the middle eastern styled town, my favourite CCC build of you (that doesn't say that the other ones weren't impressive!). I love the colors you used in this. Again, congratulations on the Master Builder title.

I usually don't read the things people write in the OP... so I looked at it and thought that this is a very good colorful build . And then I saw that this is your first MOC and it was like . Great MOC, build on! EDIT: Also, you have some crispy pics there .

Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

+1 for soccerkid6 Btw. I changed my name from Buurli_Buuri to Simon_S. Just that there won't be a mess with the list . Thanks! -
Nice build mate! I look forward to the other ones! But shouldn't the house be behind the wall instead of in front of it?

It's (sadly ) not mine, a guy from the SwissLUG took this picture. Anyway, I thougth it would be fun to share here.

LEGO Ambassador Project: Design a NEW Pirate Sub-Theme
Simon_S replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I agree with Sebeus that Pirates vs. Islanders could be interesting. It would give a wide variety of set possibilities, from pirate ships to jungles and secret shrines . I would love to contribute as a set designer, I also can take some nice photos, but my editing skills are not the best. -
Hey guys! In the SwissLUG is currently a small contest with the theme "fairy tales". The difficult thing on it: the maximal size is 10x10 studs. So I built a small vig for it. I hope you like it! Thank you for checking out and have a nice day! Simon

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Haha, I never was sure to which side I should go. Recently I bought a lot of licenced sets (which were on sale)... then I wanted to sell the minifigs to get some money back, but they were so awesome that I decided to keep some of them and to start collecting mainly fleshies. (I anyhow only have a few figs as I sell the most). -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

@Kabel: I'm always open to trade fleshy stuff for yellow, because I recently switched. I already got SK's . So if you're interested in a trade, shoot me a PM. -
I'd go with a red roof with some dark red accents in it. Looks very promising, brick on!
-
Great build my friend! The fence and the goats in the back are a nice touch!
-
Lovely little build! I love how you put so many details in it and your trees look very good . Also, your photography is good. Brick on!

Thanks Garmadon for the kind comment! I also built quite some time on this (usually I only build on something for a week, but on this I built almost 3). Thanks mate! Actually, I don't think that SNOT rocks are very important, as you anyway only have the parts to do them on smaller MOCs (here are only a very few parts SNOT)... unless you're name is DC . Thank you! Thank you rogueang! Thanks Legonardo. I also think this is one of my best builds yet, if not my best build.

Thank you. I hope to do more castles in the future. Thank you for the kind comment! Also, I was sure that I would find the word "interior" somewhere in it . Now, after I built some, I also know why you love them that much!

Thanks Matt! Yeah, I think I got you. I tried to do not too much foilage, as I did it back in this build, where most of the stonework (or at least a big part) just got covered: Yep, you did understand it correctly. Here are (only) 4 32x32 baseplates, the final product will be 2x4 or even 2x5 plates. You luckily don't have to wait too long, as I want to finish it for the SteinCHenwelt, which starts in a month... this will be a hard time building, but luckily I also have some holidays now (today's the last school day ). Thanks for the high praise! I also look forward to your castle. You will be building one soon, right? Thank you Hammerhand . Thanks Infernum! I'm not so experienced with interiors, but I thought I should also give them a try and it was a lot of fun, so I will surely do more of these again . Thank you! Thanks mate! Thanks Carson . Thank you narbilu! If you mean the courtyard with "hole", here's a pic:

Thank you LegoPanda! Thanks man. The minotaur head and the antlers are both custom items from BrickWarriors.com Thanks mate Thank you Wedge. Just wait for the other modules of it, then it will be evident that this will be my best work yet . Thanks mate! Thank you kabel. It's always nice to hear such nice words from a long time GoH member. When I'm looking at the picture, I also think that the foilage is very important, but in the real life build, the castle does the way better job (also the time I invested: A lot of time in the castle vs something around a half hour for the foilage).

Would you like the Vikings theme to return?
Simon_S replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The Viking line was my favourite by far - I bought 3 copies of the viking castle (until now ) and all other sets at least one time. They are full with useful parts and also offer some nice colours on the dragons. Speaking for myself, I like how unrealistic and steretypical they made the Viking minifigs and I also love those "comical" helmets. Even if the helmets are unrealistic, the minifigs are very well recognisable, way more than if they just had "normal" (without horns) helmets. In the end, I still think LEGO is a "toy", so not everything has to be historically accurate . -

Chapter 1: The Little Vagabond Tavern Chapter 2: The Discovery of Nalderic Chapter 3: A Warm Welcome Challenge 1 (A): A Bad Nocty! Challenge 1 ©: The Genius Malignus After Simon of Nalderic found the Herba Absynthii, the holy cabbage, he rescued his friends from Remigias and the other elves, nobody stood in the way to become king... Simon: "Kneel down, folks! I have something to tell you. As our new king, the first thing I'm going to do is to build a castle! If we want to be a strong and autonomous nation, we'll have to defend ourselfs." Farmer: "Why do we need to be independent? I don't care who my king is, as long it's not such a fool as you!" Simon: "Do you want to pay taxes to some rich Lords on the mainland so they even get richer? No. So we have to be autonomous and that also means that I want my castle... Now! Get to work!" And so, after a short time Simon of Nalderic finally had his own fortress from where he ruled the small isle. To be continued... __________________________________________________________________________________ More pics you can find in this Flickr set. I will exhibit the whole diorama on the SteinCHenwelt (I hope to get done all REQ until then). Thanks for checking out and have a nice day! Simon
