[COR-FB] inspection of the new troops
Garmadon replied to MetallFanYT's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice, those custom torsos look lovely! Great little platoon of Corries. Is that a custom scabbard too? I don't think I'd ever seen one with that stud on the back before -
Fantastic job indeed - wonderful layout, as Ayrlego said; it all looks so natural, but at the same time it's just perfect to be able to see everything and enjoy all the details without getting lost in the busy-ness! Your signature sideways stonework is great in the walls here, and the dark green and black looks lovely as the swampy water fades into the border. Excellent work all around, sir!

CDC2 Ancient Wonders: Lighthouse at Ashkharin
Garmadon replied to jtooker's topic in Guilds of Historica
Ah!!! Your colors are soo nice here - I just love that first pic with the Kali colors, the tan (which should also count as a Kali color ), brown, and light and dark blue blended together The curved pillars around the fire and the dark tan in the rockwork are great as well, and when you scroll down and see the real height of this thing it is very impressive! Very nice work! -
Those large rock boulders for the tower really do look great! The light blue water makes for a very peaceful and colorful feeling to the build as well as Ayrlego mentioned, and I love that you went the extra mile with the interior all the way through the tower! Really nice job on that portal too!

This one is really good! I like it - the colors work well (although green and gold are of course better ), and the shaping and sails are quite good as well. Nicely done! -
Great story - now we finally know what this new Corrie currency is all about... The honey pot and cash register are great - can it do pnence?

Abe Gray's Universal Store was one of the most popular shops in Pontelli. His oldest daughter usually watched the shop and his younger daughter usually watched her little baby brother and ate cookies while she thought her sister wasn't looking. But how well it went with the business was testified by the fact that both his girls were always dressed in the lattest elegant fashion, frills and puffed sleeves and all. Sadie saw to that, although some detractors said sometimes that her sister looked like she was dressed in a sack - but that was ridiculous. Pirates do not window-shop. That's just not a pirate thing. But it must be admitted that when Captain Nordau saw some tulips in the window of Gray's Universal Store he did a very un-pirate-like thing and walked in. He had heard just a little bit ago that Captain Cookie had bought some of Pontelli's new tulips. And he was not one to be behind other pirate captains for long - it would never do. "Arr, did I see some tulips in the winder of this 'ere 'stablishment, miss?" "Yes you did, sir," replied Sadie. "Those are Mondials - they are one of the rarest kinds around. Here you see." "Ay, indeed. I hear that Captain Cookie has bought some Pontelli tulips." "Oh yes, sir, indeed he did. Everybody heard of that. But he bought some of the Orange Emperor tulips. These are Mondials." "Aha, much better, I shall outdo him yet," exclaimed Captain Nordau triumphantly. "Now how much are these? They're better than his, of course, right? I wouldn't pay less than Captain Cookie did for some." "No fear of that," said Sadie to herself. But all she did was smile up at Captain Nordau and think that he was clearly not an Eslandolan. "Yes, of course. These are three-quarters of a doubloon. Captain Cookie's was only a half-doubloon." "Oh yes, excellent. Here you are. And these are one of the rarest kinds you say?" "Certainly, thank you." "No problem miss, anyday," said Captain Nordau as he walked out with his new purchase. He had only just left and Sadie was just pulling out another bunch of the "rare" tulips when Captain Whiffo entered Gray's store. He was a regular costumer there and didn't care if everybody knew it. Abe Gray was a member of the ETWC after all too. Captain Whiffo considered Sadie Gray to be a very Eslandian girl - and that was about the highest compliment anybody could want from him. "Hello, Captain!" said Sadie as he came in. "Captain Nordau was just here and he bought some of these Mondial tulips." "What?! Captain Nordau here?? And what did he want with the tulips?" "Well, he heard that Captain Cookie had just bought some too." "What, him too? Well, I guess it won't do to be left out. How much do they cost? Half a doubloon?" "What, no. Of course not - that's what Captain Cookie paid for them. They're going for four-fifths of a doubloon now." "What? What extravegance!" "Captain Nordau paid three-quarters of a doubloon for them," Sadie smiled. "You wouldn't want to do worse than him. And it's my last one. Extra proceeds for the ETWC, you know, Captain," and she held up the flowers in front of her pretty face. Captain Whiffo sighed. "Okay, give me them for four-fifths then." "A pleasure to see you again, Captain," said Sadie, taking the gold coins, which as Captain Whiffo thought - like a good Eslandolan - looked even better against an Eslandolan girl's pretty face. "Jackie, come show Captain Whiffo your little brother," said Sadie, calling over her little sister - "and stop snitching cookies or I really will take the next one out of your allowance." And Captain Whiffo left saying to himself, "why, how does she manage it? She always does me like this, I don't know how she does it." And he concluded as he had often concluded before, "someday I'm going to marry that girl." And as soon as he walked out the door Sadie said, "Jackie dear, bring out the Royal Blue now, will you please? And I'll pardon you that cookie." ---------------------------------------------- The story so far: Something for a Lady Buying Some Flowers Captain Cookies next move

[COR - Faction Flavours] Observation Platform, Stormhaven
Garmadon replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice little vig and hilarious story, Ayrlego! The half-connected angled vegetation works really well, and that watchtower definitely does look a little flimsy! -
[COR - Faction Flavours] The Hertzie tower
Garmadon replied to lmcpicture's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lovely work! The sloped base is fantastic, and your treatment of the curves on the tower is excellent as well. And great interior! - it definitely paid off to go through the extra effort with that, and the curving stairs, lights, and astronomical details add a great deal to the build -
[COR - Faction Flavours] Museum of Antiquities, Wullham
Garmadon replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Late to the party, but this is just too good to miss commenting on! There're some fantastic uses of the seed part here (and great job in getting it everywhere and in so many colors! And without seeming forced at all too!), and overall, with those fantastic bay windows, the floor pattern, and perfect level of detail and interest to the wall this has a very nice and genuinely elegant Corrish air to it! Really nice work. And those coattails! Not quite sure whether to laugh or to think you are simply brilliant, so I think I'll do both!- 17 replies

Garmadon replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like this a lot - the tan and light grey actually work really well together (would not have thought so!), and the doors and that fence technique - if somewhat tough to do in real life - look great! Very nice build! -
Yes, by all means, we'd love to have you make a return! More piratey-ness is always awesome And hopefully Era III will be quite along your and Kwatchi's lines too...

Lovely! I can't believe just how well the reds go with the light gray roof and gray corners! Excellent little cobblestone road too, and even with the few minifigures visible it already looks like a jolly place to be! -

Seconded! Really nice use of those sunken masonry bricks on the wharf and the micro trees along the shore, and that's hilarious about flipping the image! #dedication -

[GoC ] The Long Journey (Mendonça's Story 2)
Garmadon replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really nice! I've always wanted to build something in/in the style of Stormhaven - and you've done a fantastic job here! The mangroves and boardwalk are great (and of course, love that turtle! ) and the layout of the building is very nice as well! I'm not quite sure about the amount of light tan - I might have gone for a bit of mottle-work, though I understand wanting to save the dark tan for the roof - but the wood and the windows do make for some good relief. Excellent work overall as always, mate! -
[COR - Faction Flavours] Sentry Post, Port Wilks

Very Eslandolan! Love those huge green doors and the colorscheme in general - feels very Elos-like! Not quite sure I approve of the fleshies, but... Nice job! -
Results | Part Two - Consequences Category D: Check Point Silitholina Although the border town of Silithonlina has probably, after Kingsport, undergone the most changes of any settlement in Terraversa after the war, the citizens and new authorities have quickly adapted to their new circumstances, and although the old foes still look at each other warily across the river and have made sure to fortify their positions, the citizens have once again begun to travel back and forth with relative ease and the arrangement for a free-trade zone mid river has resulted in a fresh commercial boom with many opportunities for those trading in all kinds of wares. 1st Place - Checkpoint Team: Each member of the winning team (@Thomas Waagenaar, @KotZ, @Bregir) will receive one free large property licence (mircobuild required to activate) to be placed in either North or South Silitholina (at least one prize licence must be placed in each). 2nd Place - Sil Crossing Team: Each member of the team (@Ross Fisher, @evancelt) will receive one free medium property licence (mircobuild required to activate) to be placed in either North or South Silitholina (one prize licence must be placed in each). 3rd Place - @Professor Thaum & @CapOnBOBS: both members who have received third place will receive one free small property licence (mircobuild required to activate) to be placed in either North or South Silitholina (one prize licence must be placed in each). Category E: The Cross Roads So far the Terraversan conflict appears to have been a blessing in disguise for the Atwi people, as a new move to trade with the interior has blossomed out of the many new trade interests that have taken new or firmer root on the gateway island. The ETTC and RNTC have been foremost in engaging the natives with new trading posts and caravans, and the Atwi appear to be pleased with their now officially recognized independence. 1st Place @Ayrlego: 10 percent trading bonus yield for every ETTC commercial build licensed anywhere on Terraversa. 2nd Place @CapOnBOBS: 5 percent trading bonus yield for every commercial build licenced by the RNTC anywhere on Terraversa. Category F: Smugglers Den Nothing is sleepy in the small town of Tenari anymore! Well, except, perhaps, for the rule of law. With the developments in Terraversa this settlement has become a little hub of nefarious activity, as pirates, smugglers, and scapegraces of all nations look to it as a gateway to their own fortunes and a new base for activities where they can keep an eye on and take advantage of all the goods and ships that sail to and past Terraversa from the Old World and back towards it. Rumor has it that if you are a coast guard or customs official who doesn't take their job too seriously and whose pockets like to jingle with other than lawful tax mony, Tenari is the place to be! 1st Place @Capt Wolf: One free Class 5 ship licence (to be activated by microbuild) must fly the black. 2nd Place @Professor Thaum: One free Class 4 ship licence (to be activated by microbuild) must fly the black. 3rd Place @evancelt: One free Class 3 ship licence (to be activated by microbuild) must fly the black. Participation Bonus: Players who submit a valid entry for Part Two are be eligible to choose one of the following, in addition to the one they recieved if they also participated in Part One: One free Class 3 ship licence (to be activated by microbuild) One free small property licence for any location (activated by microbuild) One free medium property licence for any settlement on Terraversa (activated by microbuild) Eligible Players for Part Two: @Ross Fisher, @evancelt, @Professor Thaum, @Thomas Waagenaar, @KotZ, @Bregir, @CapOnBOBS, @Ayrlego, @Brickwolf, @Faladrin, @Capt Wolf In addition to the above, builders who rank number one in category for their faction may upgrade their Part Two participation licences as follows: One free Class 4 ship licence (to be activated by microbuild) One free medium property licence for any location (activated by microbuild) One free large property licence for any settlement on Terraversa (activated by microbuild) Eligible Players for the Part Two participation bonus upgrade: @evancelt, @Professor Thaum, @Thomas Waagenaar, @Bregir, @CapOnBOBS, @Ayrlego, @Capt Wolf All micro licenses must be used prior to December 1st, 2021. Part One results here. I've added the list of everyone eligible for the participation bonus in part one too (you're welcome, @Ross Fisher ) so it makes it easier to know how many prizes and micro-licences everyone is eligible for! And congrats to all the winners and to everybody who's participated in the challenge! Looking forward to those new black flaggers especially!
