[COR - FB] Fort Annetta, Quinnsville
Garmadon replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nicely done, really digging the colors on this fort! Excellent texture and rockwork, and the storage area down below is a great detail! -
Nicely done, mate! That tilted wall is great, as is the bastion and the clearance in front of the palisade, and I'm digging the different levels and transition on the inside too!

[TSotEP] 11 - Sea Monsters Behind This Point
Garmadon replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
What everybody else said about the ship - really fantastic job, looks fabulous! I think I agree with you about the sails as well Great story, and those sea monsters are still hilarious! -
[TSotEP] 10 - Calm Seas (with Monsters in them...)
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes, apparently not I must admit that you guys' inspired that, Thank you! Thanks Kai! Thanks man! Well, it was a match, but as a matter of fact, that just put the flame shaped burn there - I had to put it out before I got a hole in the sail lest the whole thing should go up in flames. So then I just went and poked a hole through the middle of the burnt part- 4 replies

[MTF] The unfortunate and the poor...
Garmadon replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Was wondering what was up when I saw the title and that it had to do with the WTC, but this sounds about right Very clever and funny take on the category! -
Episode 1Episode 2Episode 3Episode 4Episode 5Episode 6Episode 7 Episode 8 Episode 9 Episode 10 - you are here. Well, despite the Corries' optimism throughout the "light breeze" they had gone through, by the time it was over everyone was force to admit the obvious fact - they were entirely lost. The good news was that it didn't make much of a difference, because the waters had become so calm and the wind mostly died out, so they were hardly going anywhere anyways, so they had plenty of time to think up a plan and find out where they were. After a while, though, the calm started to weigh down the spirits of the whole crew. They were, in short, in the dumps, the blues, and the doldrums all in one. Suddenly, an eye appeared out of the blue, the dumps, and the doldrums (sorry, just the blue...) Everyone was a bit startled, and the Major jumped up into the rigging and insisted on staying there until the thing was gone. And by the way, if you happen to be wondering about the hole in the sail, that was what happened when Sergeant Salt had fired his pistol through the sail in the excess of his delight in episode nine. But I digress... Colonel Greybeard: Dash me buttons, now what is this?! Have you ever seen anything like it? Before anyone could say anything, though, the sea erupted, with eyes and tentacles everywhere. One of the monster's many tentacles grabbed onto a private's musket. Everything was tense silence for a moment as nobody moved a muscle... (Except for Lieutenant Stick, who had grabbed the boom for dear life as soon as the first tentacle appeared, and didn't make another motion throughout the whole ordeal - except that his teeth were chattering violently the whole time, though he would never admit it afterwards.) Suddenly Ensign Silvers, who had been smiling the whole time, leapt up and took the musket from the private. With a quick and surreptitious movement he swapped the musket for his umbrella in half a split second, and the tentacle, apparently happy with its gains, took the umbrella and returned to the sea. Everyone cheered as the monster returned to the deep, and Colonel Greybeard instantly decided to promote the Ensign to a captain then and there. In the excitement nobody had noticed that the Major's horse had disappeared, but the Major mourned for it for three days afterwards... To be continued... Another build from me for this storyline before I hand it back over the Captain B next week. If the pictures aren't the greatest, well, I was still trying to figure out this camera here I think I've got it fairly mastered by now after a couple other photography sessions, though Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!

[TSotEP] 9 - Through the Waters and Over the Waves!
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks all! Yep, had a lot of fun cramming them all in there! Thanks mate! Thanks Professor! Yes, they are obviously quite determined! Thanks Captain - and about the barrel, well, they had just commandeered the ship as it was, so it was probably a barrel full of just... Umbrellas Thanks Capt! Mostly it's just normal blue (about all the bricks in that color that I have, actually ), with a smattering of dark azure. I hope so! Thanks, Keymonus!- 12 replies

Episode 1Episode 2Episode 3Episode 4Episode 5Episode 6Episode 7 Episode 8 Episode 9 - you are here. But the Corries' hopes for a quick chase and smooth sailing were bound to be overturned - instead they got something which most of them liked even more, a stiff and stormy northeastern gale. The little, overcrowded sloop sped through the water at an incredibly rate, and everyone was in quite capital spirits. Sergeant Salt even put a hole through the sail with his pistol by accident in the excess of his delight. The Marshal (and his horse) stood at the bow of the little boat, taking in the exhilarating and charged sea air as the sloop dashed through the waves. ...And then it started to rain. And rain, and rain. It was a torrential downpour before long, and all the soldiers and officers were drenched, but they were still in good spirits, despite the fact that they had lost sight of the highwayman and the Surprise some time since. Plus, Ensign Silvers found something useful stowed away at the bottom of the boat... To be continued... A last overview: There you have it! My build for this episode of the story, and this one was really a blast - had lots of fun watching it take shape, and was really happy with how it turned out. Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!

@Bart ... Rodsh Derr and the Skipper weighed anchor as soon as the man on shore returned, and encountered no trouble on their way sailing up to Nova Terelli. On the way, Rodsh had been turning the matter over in his head - Uncle Grader had always struck him as a very conniving and greedy fellow, and something about the story of him having done such a poor job with the family business he had an pecuniary interest in seemed to be a little off. But, unable to come up with any solution from the little information he had on that head, he soon turned his thoughts to his unknown sister. He wondered what she was like, and concluded that she must be in a pretty bad situation to call for him - a brother whom she had never even seen. Before they had been in Nova Terelli long, however, someone who Rodsh remembered as having had a slight acquaintance with back in his navy days recognized Rodsh on the street as the Lieutenant who deserted from the ESL navy some time ago, and now he could hear a noisy and angry crowd gathering nearby. Options: Cousin Jacob's warehouse is nearby - bolt for your life and hide in the dark recesses of the warehouse until the mob has given up, and then be careful not to make much of an appearance in the streets until it's time to leave. One builds required, more encouraged (the second one could show the crew stocking up on supplies, Rodsh trying to stealthily make it back to the ship in safety, or the Narwhal joining up in Nova Terelli after repairs are done before the Skipper and Rodsh leave). Back to the ship - let's get out of here! Rodsh must convince Splicer to get rid of the cargo somewhere else with a fistful of doubloons out of his scanty supply, and send a note to let Cathy find them with Jacob. One build required, and 25 DBs. Let's make up a hasty disguise and bluff our way through this! Show Rodsh hastily changing his appearance as much as possible and pretending to be anything from a Garveyan merchant to a humble shoe-shiner as he makes his way through and out of the crowd and avoids the danger. One build required. Obviously, whichever is your choice, one build is required to continue the adventure. The more the merrier, though!

[ESL-FB] Fun With Flags!
Garmadon replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good to see Alberto's still alive and well (of course George is - that's a given)! Clever idea to do a presentation on flags and their meanings too - proves that there's still plenty of unexplored potential for BoBS builds! -
Clever use of space on that first one! I'm liking that carriage, and the tree is quite nice as well Plus, some awesome ornate woodwork on that second build!

[TSotEP] 8 - Map & Pursuit

Thanks all! I appreciate it! Thanks Captain - this one was quite fun Thanks Kai! - got to use all those nice SNOT bricks now that I've got them once in a while, you know! Yep - I really like the idea of using the same basic background but adjusting it to the needs of the story; it adds a sort of continuity which is often missing. Plus, in this case it saved me a deal of work, Well, I was actually thinking about trying that, but the camera was running out of battery really quickly so I just snapped a few shots and let it be. The horse will be on board in my next build, however! Thanks a lot, mate! The minifigs just kind of fell into place with this one, and they were for the most part remarkably well balanced (which is hardly normal for me )! I honestly think that the sense of action and motion is even better in my next build, though! (Coming this week or next) Thanks mate!

[TSotEP] 5 - A Dash for the Docks
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks all! Thanks mate! - and yes it would have, but I unfortunately didn't have the time, and the fact is that I don't think I'm very good at building only one section of a ship either However, you can see the whole ship (by Captain B) here! Thanks Kai, the posing here was a lot of fun (in fact, it's been a lot of fun with all my builds for this storyline so far! ). I've always wanted to try out this cracked wall technique since your Japanese Fortress remake, so this was a great opportunity! Yep, that end of the house looked much better from some angles than from others... like from the back, which, of course, I couldn't take pictures from Didn't really realize how odd it looked until I took pictures, haha! Umbrellas ftw! Thanks mate! Thanks! Well, I did need something there, you know And if they were builds on their own, I couldn't forgive myself for not finding time for interiors Thanks Captain B! Really glad you like it! I actually think I liked my next segment version even better, though And I actually got a lot of ideas and inspiration from your dock, by the way! Such as, the slanted rockwall quay, the dock, buildings behind the road, etc. Thanks, my man! I will see if I can't remember to take a behind-the-scenes shot of the windows next time I use the technique The statue was inspired by the recent statue to the founder of Quinnsville! Thanks, Elos! I'm definitely going to have to use the quay technique again sometime in the future! As to the windows - yes, that's a very handy technique that I discovered last time I used them, which gets around the trouble of having to find out some way to cover the curve up top - and it leaves room for the trans-yellow, which I really love. Thanks again!- 8 replies

[ESL-FB] Pontelli Pet Panic
Garmadon replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very funny scene, Captain B - I'm surprised there are no monkeys working among the bounty hunters, though As others have mentioned, those houses are fantastic! - I'm especially liking the dark green and the one with the lion statue, but they are really all very nice. What will happen next in this crazy ETWC town? Keep it up!- 12 replies

[TSotEP] 8 - Map & Pursuit
Garmadon replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nicely done, Captain - that map is great, and the writing was hilarious! The implements you added to the corners add a lot. The Captain Cookie's Delight looks as good as always, and I also see that you've got yourself a brickbuilt rowboat! Looking forward to the next developments! -
Oh dear me! The Henri's sunk! And just sunk too - just like that. Oh well, it served its time and I was getting a wee bit tired of it anyways - and it frees me up from having to build a ship limit build. Next large ship will have more guns (even if this was just a storm...) Still, this deserves a build!

Episode 1 Episode 2 Episode 3 Episode 4 Episode 5 Episode 6 Episode 7 - here you are. And so all of the Corries had ended up in the water (well, some were still on there way, but they were working on it). Colonel Greybeard, however, was not ready to give up. "I'm not to be duped, troop! Look, I spy a sloop!" And so saying, he swam quickly to the sloop resting beside the quay nearby, and clambered on board, followed by his men. Sergeant Salt and a private leaped off the dock as the Colonel trimmed the sail and started moving after the escaping ship, but just then a horseman behind them bellowed out, "Jolly Molly, Colonel Greybeard, my old fellow, is that you? What is the rush, by good chap, if I may make so bold as to ask, mayhap?" Colonel Greybeard turned and saw his old mate in military school, Marshall Shallmall. "We're after that scoundrel of a highwayman, mate, and I have no doubt we'll catch him soon going at this rate! They've got a head start, men and mice, but 'tis no great shakes!" "Got room for one more old messmate?" inquired the Marshall, and without waiting for an answer, he and his horse leapt bodily over the quay's barrier and into the water, almost smashing poor Lieutenant Stick to powder. "Oh dear," exclaimed the latter - and even the bubbly Sergeant Salt looked a wee bit concerned as the Marshall and his horse clambered on board. From the shore they heard the sloop's owner - also the head of the Eslandolan Furniture and Goods Moving Co.'s branch in Cocovia - calling out, "Wait, wait! My boat!" - but by this time they were well on there way. And besides, Colonel Greybeard had all of Corrington's commandeer laws down pat... In the background a WTC soldier sneaked off with a crate of important goods. ... To be continued... Obviously a variation of my last build for this series, although it's got a good deal of new material in there as well. And before anybody says anything: yep, I do think that red roof does stand out a bit too much Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!

[TSotEP] 6 - Splish Splash & Fish
Garmadon replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas

[COR] The Green Dragon, Quinnsville

Very clever use of those bamboo leaves on the dragon, I'm going to have to remember that! Nice work with the vegetation and interior too, and the tables outside give a kind of picnic vibe -
