  1. That is cool. Too bad they don't advertise an x-ray vision of the functions with the AR, but rather some game gimmick.
  2. Something like this. But the length is only 15.7 studs if an 11 stud flip-flop beam aligns with the diagonal holes. Weird geometry indeed. Usually Technic frames are uneven stud length.
  3. This one is pretty cool: Further new reveals: 40641: Birthday Cake 40643: Jade Rabbit 40647: Lotus Flowers 40649: Upscaled LEGO Minifigure
  4. I'm both a Technic and space guy, so I'm double excited about this model. ;) Besides, the Technic theme should not consist mostly of cars and motorcycles.
  5. The price is 190€. So already inflated compared to the rumored 170-180$.
  6. Thanks, that's exactly what bothers me too. The latest Classic Defender is a pretty good example of why "Model Team" is better suited for display while still keeping some core Technic structure and functions. TLG could just make several licensed vehicles in that line each year and keep Technic pure, affordable and function rich.
  7. Cars never had one, but similar to the Ducati, a flexible part could have been used to simulate the teardrop cockpit better.
  8. The mudguards, lack of windscreen and that thick A-pillar ruin the whole look. And that giant see-through hole in the middle, probably to see the engine pistons move... I really don't get it why such cars are even chosen for LEGO Technic in the first place if they cannot be represented accurately enough. The last LeMans race car 42039 was really cool because it didn't have to represent a specific car model... and cost half of this too. Guess this submission doesn't stand a chance now, even though it looks better: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f16d7d47-3ba9-432d-b6f5-8276b81cef0f
  9. The high price is most likely, similar to 4+ sets, due to the development and production of large specialized pieces and the new weight elements, together with the overpriced Control+ system and ridiculous amounts of marketing materials + licensing fees. Remember that the Liebherr Excavator was also much too expensive and since then we had two price increases with a third one already rolled out.
  10. Here's the final model. Checked against the instruction part list. All accounted for except the long string and 10x4x2/3 mudguards (did a little mock-up instead).
  11. True, although not so easy as to just switch the steering wheel. The whole front dashboard including the pedals, center console etc. needs to be mirror built. I'm done with the main build for today. The only thing missing is the roof cage. Maybe someone could be so nice and make the 3D model of the specialized fenders and upload the .part file here.
  12. Thanks. I accidentally mirrored it and didn't look. The tow hitch looks beefy but is sadly only attached to 2 studs, so "no bueno". But yes, the safari windows are indeed 64453 windshields. Love the way the suspension and steering was solved in such a tight space. Better than some Technic 4x4's in the last years. Still, there will be some bending on the shock absorbers because the drive axles have to pivot slightly so that the linkages can connect, as you can see from the renderings the ball joints are not "in system".
  13. Bags 4 to 6 done. I will keep updating the above linked Studio file as I build on.
  14. I started with the reverse engineering. Here are the accessories including one of the engines: 10317_accessories.io
  15. Correct. It's 25% smaller. About 1:11/1:12 scale. Wheel diameter 8.16 cm vs. 6.24 cm or model size 43x21x24 cm vs 32x16x15 cm (LxWxH).
  16. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=86652c01#T=C Yes, last time used in 2019. So it's good that they were brought back. Those new mudguard pieces also look good.
  17. Just saw this amazing set on CaDA store. Any chance it will become available in another color e.g. yellow? I have too many red Ferrari's.
  18. Kinda weird to make a recolour of this set in particular rather then another Creator Expert iconic vehicle where it would make a lot more sense. In a Technic set where most parts are pins and axles and only a few panels would need to get swapped, it's pretty dumb. I for one would just buy the replacement pieces if at all. Sticker sheet can be requested from CS.
  19. Anyone else thinking that Perseverance Rover might become a popular set, not just in our small Technic bubble? And it's a cool idea for the Technic theme. Not just another transportation and construction vehicle as usual.
  20. @Broke4Bricks You should talk to Michael from Promobricks.de. He also collects them, hence the name of his Blog Site. There used to be a website promotionalbricks.com that seems to be down now. Maybe he is still working on the translation?
  21. It's actually much curvier than the real life counterpart: I guess it's only missing the floats at the wing tips... Never mind. The set is modeled after a land only plane like the Q400.
