  1. I'm saying that whithout using custom decoration, LDD can't produce good looking stormtroopers... I mean better looking stormies, as making them looks good would be an impossible task
  2. Minifigures is a real problem in LDD due to the missing decorations both on torsos and helms... For example it's impossible to get good looking stormtroopers, and the rebel troopers have to wear plain black shirts... So I'm in favor to use custom decoration if possible, but only if the decoration is a (exact) replica of an existing printings. Edit: And only if you share your decorations
  3. Ok I understand what you said about "Colonial", we are a worldwide community and we have different vision and/or opinion on the matter, and I respect that. Still I think in France "colonial" won't be used, but as Matthias130182 said, it could be renamed for specific market.
  4. Thanks BEAVeR That's a design I posted in march, but I reworked it due to the parts I had available, as I didn't wanted to pillage too much the Zenith I tried, but it looked weird, it broke the lines too much, and it made impossible to use the same weapons as on the A-wing. I also tried that! But if I put an astromech in there, it would be a complete one. So I needed a body longer by 3 or 4 studs and maybe larger since a r2 unit is 4 studs wide. Else I could have put it just behind the cockpit, but I needed some space to put the navigation systems, life support, and some other things Well... that's why I also built and posted the Whitefang, to compensate for the lack of curves Claiming that title wouldn't be fair, there are people around here that are far more skilled than me in those fields
  5. Mister Phes wrote at the end of the introduction post:
  6. It's only my opinion, and I can't produce marketing data about it, but I am sure at 99% that "Colonial guards", translated to "Gardes coloniaux", cannot be used in France... Colonialism for France as a strong negative connotation (yes we did slavery and all sort of bad things), it ended pretty bad not many decades ago, and even today we are engaged in military operation in Africa in territory we colonized in the past...
  7. Thanks Here is a little LDD screenshot to explain how I did the curves: Whitefang howto by BobDeQuatre, on Flickr The two rightmost builds are different solution I tried to reinforce the links and keep the S shape. I ended up using the rightmost one, with 3 flex hoses. In the center technic holes I first placed a black string (part 16542) before putting the flex hose, so it stays firmly in place. I'll take pictures when I'll disassemble the Whitefang, or when it'll crumble due to gravity...
  8. Thanks Well I posted the LDD file of the first concept back in March [here], but I'll soon post the file for this one when I'll have the time to do it. Yeah, I'm not allergic to ABS I agree it looks non-OT... That's why I tried to reuse the exact same laser than the A-wing. What I tried to do is applying to the A-wing what Kuat Drive did for going from the Delta-7 to the Eta-2. And I wanted to use that cockpit! Would you prefer I posted it in the Sci-Fi forum? (BTW I did post something in the Sci-Fi forum)
  9. Thanks Lobot. And thanks for the blogging and the title change We'll overpower you, imperial slugs!! And thanks Markus
  10. Thanks all Building the curves was easy... The hard part was to make it maintain it's shape while gravity just tries to make it crumble... I may take a picture of the internal structure if people are interrested. I knew that name would please you
  11. See here for the complete story behind this MOC. "The members of the Kaze clan are wise and skilled warriors, that always try to avoid a conflict if it is possible, but don’t step back if if it is inevitable. Their Draconid is really fast and agile, with decent shields and good firepower. It is called Whitefang."
  12. Thanks LegoFjotten Forgot to post that picture... I really messed up this thread, had to edit it 3 times... BTW if a mod could change the title to "[soNE Freebuild"...
  13. Really great rendition at this scale! You really have something for weird scales
  14. Looks very good! Is it swooshable? I like your solution for the weapons
  15. Thanks a lot I've used this combination a few times yes. The first time was in a Alien Conquest set, then on the RZ-2 first concept, and on a mech concept (that I reworked in a Ice Planet set that I need to post):
  16. "As a rebel pilot, I was asked to test a new prototype. The engineers of Incom and the Mon Calamari decided to improve the RZ-1 A-wing by increasing its speed and maneuverability. They developped a new frame, easier to maintain and repair, but also a lot lighter. To me, the main problem of the A-wing is the visibility range, but the RZ-2b allow to see enemy ships almost on 360°! The weaponry system didn't change, except for the concussion missiles launcher that were removed, but the techs told me they could attach a launcher under the wings if needed." I really wanted to build this starfigther, based on a design I did a few month ago. The cockpit setup was something I wanted to try! I used it in a few designs, it's compact and looks good. So I bought the cockpit parts, and build it with the bricks I already had... and pillaged both the Zenith and the Whitefang I'd like to keep this one built, but I'll need to find 1x2x3 dark red slopes, or a new color like dark blue...
  17. If Lobot start to do freebuilds, maybe I'll have to too... That's a nice trunk, but too big for your chainsaw I think
  18. The weapons look so oversized compared to the overall size of the ship.... I like it
  19. It's very annoying... And the fact that parts in the palette are often too smal it's impossible to really see what the decoration are
  20. If he really was, he would have joined the rebellion...
  21. I'm saying that an entry for a SoNE episode is one and only one MOC. What you did in your entry is: - Here is a shiny imperial hangar - Here is the same hangar with a Tie Courier - Here is the same hangar with a smaller fighter - Here is the same hangar with a Tie Phantom - Here is the same hangar with an AT-ST - Here is the same hangar and the same AT-ST on a shuttle All the builds are nice, that's not the point, but it feels like it could go on and on with other vehicules... For example, I work with LDD since I don't have many bricks (I should stop saying that...), how would you feel if my entry consisted in 20 or 30 differents vehicules? Here I don't really know what to judge... I'll probably judge all the builds as a whole, but each ship has it's good and bad points (especially the second)... And all of that makes the story strange... You signed up as a stormtrooper, so why are you wearing a TIE pilot suit and why are you piloting the little red fighter? I think you should have focused on the hangar and maybe the AT-ST with the shuttle, and post freebuilds with the others. I don't say these are bad MOCs! But it's the accumulation of MOCs that bothers me.... It's sometimes hard for me to write how I feel about a MOC.... You'd be amazed by how many times I've started to write a comment and ended up not posting it as I couldn't express what I wanted
  22. When I first saw your post, I couldn't help but feel like you just throw all the vehicules you had in that hangar one after another.... Don't misunderstand me, the hangar is great, and all the vehicules are too, but there's too much different things... There must be a rule written somewhere saying that your entry must beone MOC, not 5 or 6
  23. Looks really nice! You're close to your goal I think the slopes should be a little grainy, and you could lower the reflection a bit.
  24. Maybe the entries of the poll should be groups of colors, like orange, green, grey... And after the poll we could decide if dark orange is better than orange (if orange wins the poll). If there are PNG files of the torsos paintings, I could do mock-ups of differents torso colors in LDD.
