LEGO Ambassador is a great thing. I talked about it with a friend of mine and she was very surprised that TLG conduct such program. I found, and that may be interesting for this project, that her 3 and a half year old son talks and plays about pirates. I don't know where he learned about pirates as there aren't many pirates reference here in France at the moment. So I guess that pirates is still a theme that is very appealing for kids.

News LEGO Juniors 2014 News & Discussion
Bob De Quatre replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have a 3,5 year old nephew and I was wondering if it was time for him to swich from Duplo to Lego System. Are those Junior sets fitted for young builders like him? -
You get it right You have to build a "house" that belongs to one of the Sci-Fi themes (space, steampunk, time travel, near future, etc...). It doesn't have to be based on an official Lego theme.

Design a NEW LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme - Q&A
Bob De Quatre replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I had trouble to understand how to support ideas, and I still don"t know if I've done it the right way. I replied to an idea I like, and tried to be constructive by proposing some modifications. -
Design a NEW LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme - Themes Suggestions
Bob De Quatre replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I really like the idea of the wrecked ship and how you could combine each set to rebuild the ship. I think a second faction should be included. Islanders might be a good choice. The B model could also have an island (or part of a bigger island) so that you could still play with the sets when you have rebuilt the ship. -
It doesn't have to be space! You could live in a steampunk civilization!

Lifelites are considered third party custom bricks... so not allowed

You mean when taking pictures? Yes no problem, but post also pictures with "normal" light

A few clarifications: - There will be no deadline extent - You can enter the two categories (with different entries), but you'll be only eligible to receive one prize. For example if you win both categories, you will receive 1st prize of category A, and the prize of category B will be given to the member who gets the second place. There is no restriction on scale. There is only a restriction on size, and the subject must be in the sci-fi range.

Microscale is ok of course

No it's not an April Fools Day prank! If it was I would have offered Friends prizes You are allowed to use Photoshop on one picture... But your entry should be judged on what you did with the bricks and not with Photoshop The rules say that the exterior is mandatory and the interior is optionnal... So you can focus on the interior, but don't neglect the exterior too much. I'll see if we could extend the deadline by a few weeks. 48x48 is the maximum depth and width... but you can build smaller. Category A is between 16x16 and 48x48 studs "Good guys" is only a point of view... As long as your "guys" belongs to the Sci-Fi theme, that's fine There is no height limitations.

Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Bob De Quatre replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Why not have blues, reds and pirate being "official" factions, and have islanders as an open faction for which anyone could build regardless of his/her faction? -
"It doesn’t matter where you are in the depth of space and time, there is one thing you’ll always need: a home to come back to." The goal of this contest is to build a home for your favorite Sci-fi theme, official or not. You could build a Blacktron base, a Steampunk lab, an Alien nest, or anything that is covered in the Sci-fi range (I insist, this is not a space base contest ). There are two categories in this contest, each having a limitation in size: - Category A: up to 48x48 studs - Category B: up to 16x16 studs Your entries must feature the exterior of the home, but you can add an interior if you want. Full buildings or cutaways are accepted. Prizes: 1st place of category A will receive set 70816 - Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP 2nd place of category A will receive set 70812 - Creative Ambush 1st place of category B will receive set 21103 - The DeLorean Time machine Rules: Entries should be dioramas or vignettes measuring no larger than 16x16 for Category B or 48x48 for Category A, with an overhang of no more than 3 studs. The contest will run from 1st April to 30st April, 2014. As long as it's still April 30st somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Sci-Fi staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. One entry per member and per category. You can enter both categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the episode. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts, no digital entries. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Sci-Fi forum, the title prefixed by, "[HSH] Cat X - ". (For example, "[HSH] Cat B - Space Pirates hideout".) Post pictures no larger than 800x640, but you may link to bigger pictures. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. Entries will be scored by EB members' vote.

A nice one again I don't know how you take your pictures, but you should take two (or three) shots of the same angle, and keep the less blurry one I do that all the times. -
Please don't quote posts with lots of pictures, thanks.
