The seagate is a very good defensive creation, since that fortification is by no mean not a commercial area, seeing those narrow corridor so well defended, great:) I say that strictly from a defensive point of wiew of course:) I've started building one of the two towers of my main gate, it's a bit strange on shape (not used to build on massive scale), each tower beeing 50x50 square, but only building with my stock of old lego (means white, red, yellow, black and grey), so I can see how it grows. And needed to say, jesper', you are of great inspiration, just the way you created the inner parts, the stairway, it helped me a lot, lot lot:) I can't imagine though, how massive your project is, especially since you still have to build the castle part that is on top of a massive hill, that's it?

I'm happy about that, even if there are risks... But I higly doubt we'll see Timothy Zan's trilogy as ep 7 8 9, or, it'll be as a CG movie, or talking about that time line without seeing the main EP4/5/6 characters (Luke, Han, Leila). Or, a totally different time area, old republic, or whatever.... Tough task for sure.

Really, thanks for showing this to us, it's an inspiration, and kudos for the details, that's what make this "alive":) Kinda make me think this is quite the same as the weathring technics used in figurines paints. -
I'm just wondering if you had the opportunity to work on this amazing MOC, jesper', I'm so looking forward to it, I'm ashamed:)

Ultimate Collectors Scale All Terrain Armoured Transport
deanorth replied to cavegod's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've began to order and received a few parts. I've finished UCS falcon so far, and almost done with ANio Tie Fighter (really impressive), but that AT-AT is my next step. I will scratch my head and try to find a way to do the interior, I don't know why but I didn't care for it for the UCS falcon, but that AT-AT... strange:) -
Really, this shines in every way, really like it!
-
Really surprising work, I would have never imaging someone would have try to build a larger scale falcon. I really like what you did with the interior, but, don't blame me for my word, I don't have the same "wahou" factor with the exterior detail, not sure why, maybe the way the greebles are done, or the shape, I can't find the exact word to match why I'm puzzled. Matter of taste I admit, though:)
-
Bob', thanks for that link, it just miss the interior, but for the exterior, it's just a "wahou" visual.

It's really fantastic, I'd buy those without blinking.

Definitely love this model, that's something I'm going to try to build sooner or later, thanks again for sharing your works here, Bob'sensei:)

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...

I've ordered most of the parts for the UCS falcon from them too, plus Alpine bricks, 44 bricks, and Chromebricks. In France, you have 1001bricks, with a huge selection of parts, too. Really, take your time with the order, the prices can be really different from shop to shop. I'm looking forward to see your progress Bob', good luck:) -

It's very easy to contact mr Cavegod, just go to flickr, and search for cavegod2009, and send him a pm about the LDD files:) -
I started building it today, 4 hours work, I really enjoyed it, the way it's built, for me, returning to lego world, it's really full of things to learn about how you can strengthen things. Really, building that thing is totally funny and enjoyable:)
-
Aye, it's cheaper than most of the other UCS. The Tie advanced windscreen wouldn't be good? its a bit too dark/black, wonder how it would react (considering it's cheaper than the UCS whole kit I mean:) ) Thanks for the advice Anio, I'm on ebay actually watching on UCS 10175 at 140€.

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...

In Europe, you got 1001bricks store, they often got a lot of parts (it's in France), also I'm working a lot in Germany. -
I've began to gather the parts, it's easy except for the windscreen that is not in stock anywhere, but it's just a matter of waiting. Except for that, the instruction worth EVERY peny spent.
-
Very nice! That look better than the official version, although, I'm a bit puzzled about the length of the wings, seems a bit short, but I'm too new in star wars, just a feeling.

I've learned (yes, it's a feature for AFOL returning to lego after 20 years break:p) a great deal of things, simply by watching your Flickr gallery, truly! and thanks for the input on the "how to". I really see a great deal of possibilities for castle building with what you did. But I really hope we'll see your next achievement soon. As I told you, as far as historical reproduction go, with the way you've built Seawatch, I think you could easely build something like "le Krak des chevaliers", one of the greatest stronghold of all time, build near Damas, and still strong today (although I fear it will be destroyed by the war waging there:/)
-
Just a question, as I really don't know/understand how you build it... The window, with the cross in it, the loophole, how is it build, I don't know the parts needed. Same for the porticulli, I would really appreciate if you could share a bit how you built it, I'm... hungry, let's say that:))

Ha ha ha:)))) good job, and 30+, talk about mature build:) You will have enough material in your old lego to build it, or..bricklink genocide? -
Thanks for posting those pics. I orderd 6 rigging parts in black (got 2 free in fact, form LEGO directly). I'll use my CITADEL primming white paint, and then the citadel colors I use for my painting (also got some vallejo). Just need to find the right gray. It look good on your falcon Bob', and like you, I don't want to spend too much. I changed my order for the lever (light gray instead of the original), same for the cone, only that saved me for than 200€.. only part left to order is the...satellite dish, that, I can't avoid at all. I'm SO looking forward to build the falcon, it's terrible (not all my briklink orders have arrived, so can't start at all)

I'd really love to see an UCS A wing, this ship is maybe simple, but great looking. Cloud city too would be great.
