  1. sweet coaster, but thats pretty expensive for a decent size track. How many joiners do you plan to buy? lemme guess, OVER 9000!
  2. Wow thats even closer to rc standards considering the power and speed
  3. lol, I just weighed my crawler...what are the odds... 875 grams just a few pieces lighter!
  4. You would still have to use official lego motors, right? or am I mistaken because then you would still need space for those... edit: ah you can used all the custom servos and motors. Cool!
  5. You mean use 5 x 7 frame, have cv joints going into diff in middle of frame and another bley cv going into wheel hub? yes I've done that before, only this time I could improve on shock placement and ride height for this car and possibly use servo, mabye even without rack like on my crawler... oh like zblj's ok, will prob do that...
  6. I got some work to do when I get home to my lego. I'm envisioning something using these instead of regular frames... yep i'm in between a wheel and hard place but I think i'll come up with something...
  7. A file cabinet I just have a neat stack, nothing special.
  8. Yes that could inspire an idea thank you, I may not do suspension after all considering size, but hopefully wont come to that..
  9. Hello fellow EB members, I've been wanting to create this car for a long time but always ran into problems. It's a fast little car in my favorite game, DiRT 3. It's called the Mini Cooper S Gymkhana. Its a heavily modified 1960's rally cooper with 4wd and 500hp. I want it to be a mid-size MOC with 4WD, all wheel independent suspension and rc. Smaller and simpler than Sheepos... But I have one problem-HOW DO I BUILD A MEDIUM SIZE FRONT SUSPENSION WITH DRIVE AND STEER? It will most likely not feature the regular wishbones that first came on the 8297. I really need help, does anyone have ideas, suggestions, or even previously built examples? Heres what it looks like if you where wondering...
  10. agree, best truck I ever seen, only one thing- maybe replace those orange bent pieces in the seats with a different color, because it blends too much with the rest of the cabin. Great model, running video anytime soon?
  11. change the side your shocks are mounted by, this is similar to my crawler's shock placement, so look at my topic as an example hope it helps and good luck with your truck. I agree with lipko, see how it moves without shocks to understand the movements.
  12. That looks AMAZING. I wish I could make a truck body like that Where did you get all your orange parts from?
  13. yes he did, you can see it in one of the photos.
  14. very nice simple mod, I don't own 9396, as I have 9398 and helicopter didnt interest me although its a good set. No criticism needed here, except make the switch placement a bit less obvious and try to take photos with a sharper focus, unless its just the camera... the 7th and 17th photos were the sharpest.
  15. Your welcome for inspiration very 'interesting' design I like realistic suspensions, but I'll let that slide because WOW! That's fast! steering is slow but understandable-it could beat mine in a drag race by a mile Also it has nice torque, but not as destructively powerful as mine-It was climbing wall and rear link popped off under stress. This could look good and hide those odd mechanics with a simple body...Great job overall 880g...I need to weigh mine in comparison...
  16. Great, still some studs left to replace The first picture looks amazingly close I hate making car bodies-I sketch/draw perfectly but it's so hard in lego I guess because I need more panels. Do you secure the body to the chassis in a lot of places, or can you remove large sections just by removing a couple of pins?
  17. Man, I was planning to do that but I took apart the axles and servo before I could even start recoloring Nice work
  18. You make some of the best models! Especially your trial trucks! Thanks for the positive feedback on my crawler, you'll be seeing more MOCs in the future :)

  19. Thanks for all the quick replies, useful info and positive feedback!

  20. Yep, it's decided, I'm getting those rock creepers in a couple weeks to a month, the reason for same scale is so I don't have to make wide axles or on a truck-tall wheel arches- while still keeping weight down, high grip and nice looks. Thanks Hopefully I'll get them to put on my crawler chassis before school starts...
  21. Yes I'd like to know the best compound because I'm only going to buy one set of 4 tires and want the best, DLuders, those Rock Creepers you mentioned...do they have a good sticky compound compared to the other tires you've bought?
  22. Yeah the servo motor's pretty powerful, I usually used the m motor with hockey spring before this came out but It broke both pieces Now just need to buy a second set of L-motors, servo and v2 receiver so I can have two rc models at once instead of switching electronics from MOC to MOC.
  23. NICE! I saw the video yesterday and thought wow, that suspension is amazing! good performance for the weight and tires, Mine was just for simplicity, performance and little weight. This is what I was talking about, the geometry of the suspension has to be correct, and here my friend, it is spot-on! Those wishbone links are in line with the middle of the U-joint as they're supposed to be. Really cool model
  24. I mean the front axle can drive up, of course when the back axle gets there it flips over
