z3_2drive replied to z3_2drive's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Have stiffened chassis and tried different wheels, but only have 20 min a day with lego because of highschool (im doing homework and reading EB at same time), and cant think of any bodywork, and I have many panels/liftarms but almost no flex cables. any ideas? -
Technic 1h 2013
z3_2drive replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes, i REALLY hope they have more offset wheels, because you could choose between the deep dish style or very good steering because of the pivot point inside the wheel, and is it just me who sees many spokes??? -

Good luck on your new version! I really wish lego made stronger u-joints, which could slide on the axle, they're always the weakpoint of my models...something like barmans, but with stronger plastic? http://www.brickshel...ion_tube_5l.jpg -

yes, I dont have the lego lipo battery and dont feel like paying $50+ and this battery gives slightly over 9V so more powerful AND rechargeable -
I noticed I was getting close to 100 posts, and built this amazing little car yesterday. After trying and succeeding at building my mini cooper, which had poor performance though, I wanted something that could really PERFORM so this is an all-around RALLY CAR! And this is my 100th post special! It has RWD via 2 l motors and steering with servo. Also features all-wheel independent suspension, for all those potholes and off-road stages. Here's pictures and my first ever MOC video! video-indoors, but its great outdoors too, it climbs decent angles as long as its flat. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=c0vhK41Vbk0

has anyone actually seen them or is it just rumor? -

As I've shown before, I almost always use this custom rechargeable battery my father made: And we plan to buy another v2 receiver as a test one, because whenever I used the regular receiver with buggy motor it got extremely hot and a couple weeks ago stopped working, and our battery even has a regulator so it doesnt give over approx. 9 volts. The v2 receiver doesnt even get warm so we'll try to remove regulator-giving about 1-2 more volts, and if everything works, all motors will be given more power and release their full potential -

Thank you, nice model, I like the use of the different wheel hubs, do they have less friction than these? -

yes it does seem a bit slow, can you post pictures of the underside or suspension without wheels on? I'd like to see the front especially because I always have trouble with steering systems...thanks! -

nice MOC, looks like a lot of fun to drive around because of the speed and power. You might want to limit how much it can articulate, so one half doesnt flip over on big obstacles... -
just bought servo the other day for $29.90 on bricklink, kind of a disappointment that we have to wait so long... but then again their explanation makes sense but I'm definitely not buying another 9398. good set but not good enough that I'd buy two. Only if its the flagship of my dreams...a fully functioning and rc rally car

Help please!
z3_2drive replied to Jestb2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
lol... true but, the older studded ones are harder to modify IMO because you would need old studded technic pieces. The 9398 is very easy to modify, its already been proven... -

I always loved my 8466 (once I fixed the steering) and of course the unimog and crawler, i never owned 8297 or 8043 but I also voted for them. -

v2 receiver comes in handy! tested in my nearly finished MOC, one buggy motor on one output, servo on other, goes faster and much more responsive -

similar to the "droop" setup suspensions for rc and real life crawlers, I agree better for traction -
Hello EB members! I'ts me z3 again with a cute little MOC that I built a week ago, It's my Mini Crawler Truck. Don't let it's size deceive you, this thing can CrAwL! It's able to climb roughly a 45 degree slope(my 9398 box). Originally an attempt to fit an L motor into Miron89's Mini Trial Offroader, turned into a whole new model from scratch, but still using some of his ideas, like leaf spring suspension, and a clever steering system with chain links. Sports a colorful orange/black color scheme wich is very popular lately, and a nice rollcage and roof. No video, because half taken apart for my next MOC, zblj knows some details about it. Heres some pictures: notice rear gear taken out, that was for diff model, theres supposed to be a half 20t... Cat approved!
