  1. Jody, please check the size of the build. It feels that the base is larger that 24*24 studs, which is the limit for this challenge.
  2. [O - TECH] Space combat training exercises have begun.
  3. The main difference in our discussion is the definition of espionage itself and whether "intelligence" and "spying" are to be distinguished or not. I'm totally fine with if your approach is similar to the judges' approach on the matter. My personal opinion is that such broad definition of "spying" activities makes builds and stories much easier to "fit" into the description. And, after all, the comments to the builds are for expressing the opinions and making suggestions while the build is officially a WIP. Comment given, comment rejected.
  4. For the sake of mutual interest to the question, I think i should continue. 1. Koro is recovering Kawashita's own drone data from unclaimed planet. Furthermore, there were yet no activity in the sector other than Kawashita's. 2. If there's no Octan or M.A.N.T.I.S. activities in the sector - and the probe was gathering intel from the unoccupied world - that's "intelligence", not "espionage". 3. Bob listed an exact example of "spy action" being "espionage" (i.e., gathering data on other corporation, in any way possible). 4. In addition - recovering own intelligence data is not espionage as well. Had you mentioned that the probe had detected M.A.N.T.I.S. or Octan probes or vessels (i.e., possible "spying" on other corp.) a few moments before the contact was lost - that would instantly added a tiny bit of exact "spying act" to the story.
  5. The build and the story are awesome, as always! And I especially like how you construct your shots... the angle, POV, etc. -=-=- Notes on builder's notes - please check the rules on "spying outfit" and on "what is considered a spying build", it seems to me (I may be wrong, of course - and in this case, sorry for raising this issue here) that: - a "spying outfit" allows only "spying" activities on distant planet - an activity is considered as "spying act" "if it depicts your sigfig gathering intels, hacking computers or sabotaging any other corporation equipement" Your story can be easily changed to that, i believe.
  6. We did it! First two interplanetary Octan Defense Force ships were commissioned on our new homeland on Farmolis this week. They have proceeded to the nearby asteroid belt with the first training assignment being currently prepared. As soon as the CEO officially announces completion of the research on new spacefleet tactics, we'll initiate the "Space combat" training exercises. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- On the day after... The research is officially finalized and announced. The Octan Defense Force ships are now to proceed towards the training zone where they have to find and destroy decoy drones.
  7. For the sake of discussion, I'll explain why I voted "no" for the first question. Currently we have a trade-off: post early and try to quickly take the planet, but reveal your plans to everyone; or post late and keep your choice secret until the very end. If the scores are only totaled after the deadline - there's no motivation for posting early other than "I've finished and don't want / can't wait until last moment".
  8. I don't fully understand your first example... If you change the mechanism - neither corporation should not be able to take the planet, as the difference is less than 30 DP, should it? Fixed. What about the daily subtotals? Is it too much?
  9. Agree. An interesting option would probably be to make subtotals on a daily basis (instead of current situation, when "every second counts"). But that would probably make programming more complicated for Bob. Or wouldn't it?
  10. I'd second the question regarding the deadline. The clarification here would be good to have. I personally assumed that it's somewhere around 9:00 UK time (based on "Bob's at work" type of deadline), and last weeks I posted in the early morning from work as well, as I don't have much Internet on the weekends. Good, though, that my builds do not affect planet domination needs.
  11. I find them awesome. And hope they remain this way.
  12. I'll just post this here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98049&st=100#entry2218606
  13. I'll just ask one small question here: do you think the six empty hexagons in the middle of the map are for decorative purposes only?
  14. You can always check on the ultimate spreadsheet.
  15. Open channel message #009 to Octan Corporation. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I would like to transfer 53 credits to Bob of Quatrian. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of message #009.
  16. It's always very interesting to see how the build is developing from WIP to final stage. Especially if the result is so nice and clean.
  17. That's a very cool attempt on the terrain. Love it.
  18. Location: H03 - Kaalin Tags: civil, building, exploration Terrain: Rock Start of transmission #04. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This week's target was to test a new standart-Octan-container sized habitation module in the hostile weather - and Kaalin's northern regions seemed a perfect spot for that. It's a cold dry tundra with little life trying to survive against harsh winds and cold nights (during the day, though, it is pretty warm here, I could even open the walls and enjoy a bit of sunshine). All the flora here is no more than a few inches above the ground level, and I haven't yet detected any fauna. That's good news... Better no fauna at all then an abundance of it (I still have the nightmares of these days on Crofter's Ridge, probably should visit the medical bay on the base). Bad news are that I haven't found any awesomnium ore here. Just nothing, not even a smallest piece of this awesome purple-colored ore. Even worst news are that there's no whitestone as well - the one that always accompanies awesomnium. The reports from other explorers, however, show lots and lots of awesomnium on other regions - so it seems that the planet is useful, after all. Hopefully, at least the picture came out well. I hope that this habitation module survives a few weeks here. And i really need this extra equipment delivered to enhance the module and start some serious testing procedures. The module is yet just a box with some basic live supporting equipment and initial food supplies. Even the opening function of the walls is useless as no extra floor space is available yet. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of transmission #03. The build:
  19. Thank you. It's always cool to get an appreciation from the CEO.
  20. I think Bob did not mention that officially. So need to have the confirmation.
  21. Ummm.... Bribe Bags are over, aren't they?
  22. Thank you all for the kind comments. And I really did not expect 5 d.p. So positively surprised here as well. Thanks. That's because I was very late this week.
  23.
