LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Front replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
look carefully, the language is English. What you see around the box probably is promotional material for the product. -
A nice review, thank you. It was very entertaining and different, and I did not mind the non-English words which I can't read. The text just made the review exotic in a way. I am pretty sure that not everything in this set is made in China. Actually I know for certain that it is not the case. Only very few Lego parts are made in China. US prices are very low yes, but compare your price in Korea to the price in e.g. Denmark, and they are probably not that different.

Nice review, thank you. I modified the old Hau mask several months ago, adding a cross axle inside after removing the old system knob. Seeing how the original shape did not really fit the long shape of the head, I suggested to the designer in charge of the Stars sets that we should alter the proportions of the mask. We modified the overall proportions of the mask, making it smaller seen from the front, but longer seen from the side. Actually I made several Rapid-prototyping versions with different proportions, and had the designer pick his favorite . I must say that this has become my favorite Stars set, although I really like the Piraka.

What LEGO do you expect under the tree this year?
Front replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only Lego presents that will be under my family's tree, is all the presents I buy for my nephews. Duplo and 5+ system sets it is. ALthough I gave mey father a Volkswagen set last year He's on pension. -
SW-SET 7754 FIGS MISSING! Home-One Mon Calamari Cruiser...
Front replied to Dennimator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
One possible solution is to find the website for TRU in Sweden and tell them about the problem. They should be the ones to fix the problem, as there is probably little doubt that they have taken back a product that has been altered. If it's possible to contact TRU is another question. You might have more luck with Lego. -
SW-SET 7754 FIGS MISSING! Home-One Mon Calamari Cruiser...
Front replied to Dennimator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If it was me, I would have gotten my money back from the shop. But that is because I will not put up with someone trying to claim that I did the mistake, and I would simply get so angry that I'm pretty sure a manager would hand me the money after a long debate. In your case I would use the consumer service on lego.com. You can write which product was faulty and what is actually wrong. Write which shop exactly sold you that product and afterwards refused to take it back. There should be some evidence that the box and bags have been opened. Glue must have been broken by a knife on the box. Maybe take some photos of this and the altered plastic bags inside. You could also phone consumer service, but I would use email to explain the problem more carefully. Hope you have luck getting it sorted, and please let us know of any progress. -
To me the Ben10 sets should be placed in this forum, renamed from Bionicle to something else. But then I look at it in a building system sense and not a theme based sense. It's the same with Ferrari technic sets. I would prefer them in the Technic forum.

What's up about the hype on Bionicle ? Don't you know it's ending. What will we see next ? In half a year.

The band's homepage feature some pictures of the brickbuilding setup. http://www.rymdreglage.se/8-eng.html

It has to be said that if the designers want a purple set, they just paint it purple. Prototyping involves a lot of cutting, gluing, painting, and finally some rapid prototyping (3D printing of parts).

Thank you for review. It would have been nice if Rahkshi could have had some of the new armor pieces from the other Stars sets in yellow added to his torso and arms. The set looks a bit too plain, but anyway the head/spike part makes me want him. Well the name Rahkshi does that on it's own.

As stated above the color is a regular dark blue. I know that it at least seems brighter in some of the pictures, and that pictures may not show the color hue perfect. The texture is a bit like what is seen on regular slope bricks, a spark eroded surface quality. It may be a bit rough here and appear different when combined with the soft and less shiny material used in this mask. But take a macro picture of a slope brick, and it may not look that different.

I hope I haven't screwed up the white balance in these pictures too much. The parts are regular dark blue.

I think you are trying to extract more than what makes sence from my description. ..... I have already myself had the idea to try and create a Moc with the spine-mask features on a guy with knees and elbows. Even though it would be much taller than this official set, it might still look good, possible even better.

While the Stars don't feature many new parts, they may feature quite some new colors on existing molds (I really haven't checked, and don't keep that much track of colors, geometry is my main concern). But look at the line-up of new parts (moulds), three new masks, a foot and two new decoration/armor pieces. Quite few pieces for a six-set line-up. You may now speculate if the 2010 line-up of new parts was skewed towards the second half year releases, and if you do so you are not far off But I think the designers of the Stars then turned towards more recolors as a way to make the products more attractive. Recolored pieces that come to my mind: Ackars flame in a two-colored version. Black sword for Skrall. Gresh blades and mask. A green double bushing on both Skrall's arms. And then I guess some torso and limbs recolored as you mention. Add to that some gold armor pieces, guess at least some of these are new color-wise.

Yes, the white teeth were nice. Could I suggest that you edit your post, removing all the quote content ? It's not good posting behavior to just quote everything, and my guess is that nobody find it funny to scroll through all the pictures twice. I don't have Takanuva :-) Yet I guess. If nobody does a Tahu review, I could jump in and post some photos of him later. Super thank you for the corrections Bundalings, I will edit my post to get the stuff right. I really should have checked bricklink about recolors etc. but I guess I was too lazy. The 2005/2006 mistake, yes I actually doubted which year it was when writing, again to lazy to check. I started in the Bionicle team as consultant in January 2007, so I guess I am excused a bit when making mistakes about the "old" stuff

Here is what might look like a review of a Lego set, but as some of you know can hardly be considered such, as I am involved in developing these products. So let me instead describe the following as a presentation of one of the newest Bionicle sets, the 7137 Piraka. 7137, Piraka. 2010 January release. Number of pieces: 15. Price: 7,99 US$. The Stars are the last six sets from the Bionicle theme that has lived on since the start in 2001. Next year, 2010, the ninth year of Bionicle, will be the last year for this theme. That was announced a few weeks ago through a letter from the Bionicle team in Billund to admins at bzpower, the large on-line community focused exclusively on the Bionicle products. The set Piraka will to the hard-core fans be known as the Nektann set, as that is the name of this particular Piraka character. Piraka was a tribe added to the Bionicle universe in January 2006, and as such the set here is a tribute to that tribe. Back then 6 original sets was launched, 6 mean guys, no shy of a rap song or beating up smaller creatures. The set is sold in a plastic canister, and the lid of that is shown here to the right of the instructions. The canister itself will not be shown here. Fans will notice that the lid features the Skrall symbol. All 6 Stars sets feature the same canister, but each has individually colored lids. The piece number is 15. New pieces are the spine mask in rubber-like material, and the golden armor which can be used on the collectible golden Tahu. Both types of blue limbs are in an all new color. Not much posing is allowed on a set with "pre-bent" arms and legs. The spine is much more flexible than the original Piraka spines, and don't really hinder the posing of the set. He can't look much downwards though, as the spiky chin collides with the torso. Note how the torso is turned opposite than in most other sets where it's used. Front and back is simply swapped around. Nektann trying to pinch a hole in your computer screen. The golden armor can be fitted nicely to one of his legs. A side view of the spine-mask. Please let me hear your view on this set, I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the presentation. Front

1 complete minifigure pr. bag. It is not the usual bag, it is a very thick and small, and it's impossible to tell which figure is in it before opening. -
Review: Atlantis 8057: Wreck Raider
Front replied to MayTheBricksBeWithYou's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I own this set and like it. The shark guy is the only Atlantis minifigure which does not include a standard minifigure head. -
The Bionicle Team (yes we still refer to ourselves as "the Bionicle Project") did not chose to do this because Bionicle is not making money, or because we ran out of ideas. It is simply because we want to move on and do something even better, even greater. Nobody stay winners by doing the same over and over again. Innovation is the game we play. I love Bionicle sets, I am one of the few in the team that actually am crazy about sitting at home and putting sets together, and I can promise you that I will still have cool stuff to put together after the Stars have left the building. If you love Bionicle, I will bet that you will like what the "not-more-to-be-named Bionicle Team" will bring in the future. Front aka Erland

REVIEW: 8188 Fire Blaster (Power Miners)
Front replied to CaptainRex110's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Has nobody noticed the new 4x4 round brick, used in this set in the blue version ? This is the counterpart to the similar 4x4 plate, and will mount on the same base. The new brick will "click" though during rotation, not running completely freely as the plate. New Brick: 87081 Plate: 60474 Common Base: 61485 -
I ended up with an extra slope too, as I built this set last week. Nice review, nice small set, nice minifigures, especially Squidtron.

Jørgen was installed as CEO, the head of the company. He did not buy anything back then, other than a hot seat in a company that was really not doing great. He has been a great CEO for Lego, turned the company into a success.
