  1. I have never even tried designing a set, and am not sure you would like the result, if I had a go at it
  2. I suggest the same as Ralph_s. This is how the minifigure hand are supposed to function. You are not required to slide anything in from the end, just let the hand clip onto the rod, and pull it of the same way.
  3. Yes, all the small pieces are with shafts of regular dimensions like light sabers. Ben 10 sets only has completely new pieces.
  4. The website was updated in 2006, or so it appears. This toy may not be in production anymore. USA company, Chinese manufacturing.
  5. Click to see a picture: 7971 on brickset
  6. I am known as FronT in-game Been playing this week, trying to learn and understand the game.
  7. On brickset I saw that there is a magnet set listed, including manta, shark and a diver (If I remember correctly). Atlantis Magnet set
  8. Bricklink got the new Hau mask confused with the old one, though they haven't created a new part. Tahu Stars on Bricklink
  9. I posted a picture including old minifigures some time ago: My Old bricks Topic here you can see the legs used under the torso where the arms can't move.
  10. The new armor looks great, and including 3 in this set does make a purchase more interesting. I don't like the mask in this single colour version, compared to the dual coloured of the Glatorian Gresh. Voted average, and will get the set sooner or later.
  11. Doing test on the 1st of January ? Telling a kid that he's just over the age limit, and then can't participate ?
  12. I have participated in a single play test in Legoland Billund, where future Bionicle products were investigated. Or should I say the stuff that will replace Bionicle. Yes, I managed the test together with two of our set designers, being a part designer myself. We had kids in the range of 6-10 year old looking at our future products and ideas. We showed them some 2010 set prototypes (more or less resembling the final products), and asked what they thought about different play scenarios, showing graphical stuff like drawings of sets and environments. The play test was not the usual test we do, but a very early one probing our ideas. Let me make it clear that you can't take any pictures during a play test. You will be in close contact with Lego employees and taking out a cell phone will be seen immediately. It was really funny to participate in the test. Most of the kids really enjoyed it, although some were a bit disappointed that they were not to build anything. But they loved to see our prototypes and talk about cool scenarios and conflicts between the good and the bad guys, using their imagination to the fullest. And they ended up receiving a Glatorian Legend set as a gift. Some of the kids could spend several minutes before they decided which set to pick And now I wrote the above in this particular thread, which is named in a way I struggle to imagine will ever be a reality.
  13. I throw my boxes out, period. The only boxes I keep are those which still contains bricks, and I always got 30-40 sets lying around ready to be built
  14. I can't reveal anything about new products, but you can probably understand that there is a good reason why Ben 10 did get a newly designed ball cup. But please complain about the broken pieces to consumer service on lego-dot-com. You will get new parts, and we will get knowledge of where to improve. I have never myself broken ball cups on the 2x2 brick, but I have no doubt that it happens like on Bionicle elements with the same ball cup design.
  15. I got 4 Ben 10 sets :-) Although all the parts in Ben 10 is all new, and for many fans of Lego may seem like useless, they do shine of high quality, compared to your standard Bionicle part. Quality in the surfaces, textures etc. And as I promised some months ago, ball joints will not break.
  16. You do realize that the yellow on the torso is printing ? Or am I wrong ?
  17. I've edited my first post with another link, but the link in the quote from Bfahome just above still works for me too. yes Omicron the cover is baddass, but if you knew their music style, you could say the same thing about the music too. I have an album by the same musicians where they use the band-name Noise Unit.
  18. Front Line Assembly is a Canadian band who has been into industrial music for 25 years. Here is the cover from their 2006 release: Artificial Soldier CD-cover Look carefully at the picture. It is the artwork of Dave McKean who has designed many album covers for several music artists. I've had this album for three years now, and only saw this use of Bionicle a few weeks ago. Mindphaser is the unofficial site for the music universe of the men behind Front Line Assembly, Delerium and other projects.
  19. I am in no way an expert on plastic materials and only know the basics about the materials Lego use. What I may know the least about is actually something like changes to colors during the lifetime of a brick. So I can't answer your question about which effects sunlight and oxygen have. I am more interested in the mechanical properties of the materials we use, and how to select the right material for a new element. Things like safety, building functions, and strength are to be considered when selecting a material. In Bionicle and similar themes, we probably use a wider range of materials, compared to System themes. That is in no way to cut down material costs (which I often see speculations about here on EB), but because a material has to meet demands like safety and strength. A lot of Bionicle elements can't be made in ABS and at the same time satisfy the safety requirements for the product.
  20. Heat test in an oven accelerates creep in the materials that may be seen in normal use over several years if the set is placed up in a window where the sun will heat it. This has nothing to do with discoloration at all. To accelerate the discoloration of plastic in a test, strong UV light is needed. Creep in a material is permanent elongation due to stress below the normal 0.2 % stress limit. The amount of creep is dependent on material, duration, stress, and temperature.
  21. I recognized two Lego employees in the video. First Jørgen Vig (CEO) and second the designer known as Nabii in the AFOL community. He is seen wearing a black shirt with red graphics about half a minute into the video. I think only one of them is a member on Eurobricks
  22. Is that some kind of Dip ? ... btw. I plan on attending Saturday and Sunday, as that are the days that no-one else wanna come, and it wont interfere with my work in Billund, where I usually am busy. But I can't say for sure that I'll be able to come as an employee. Anyway, if I come to Copenhagen, we should get together for an after-event beer.
  23. Copenhagen is the capitol of Denmark. And we are not talking about the village Denmark placed in South Carolina (which I noticed a village was actually named, when I was in SC in 1996).
  24. The green translucent is an all new Lego color introduced with Atlantis.
  25. I will hopefully be able to help manage the Bionicle area again like in 2009.
