  1. No problem I think, discussions like this are informative. Notice how the two sets you present both have 9 ball-cup joints. Matoran 5-ball torsos, well they are not the most useful I guess, but I have had zero problems adding one as a pelvis on a huge titan moc, giving that titan a "bend-able" body (between torso and pelvis), Not sure any official set ever had a body that could bend forward, rotate etc.
  2. 1: I have seen people compare two 7.99 sets, the first from 2001 the second from 2009, and then saying the 2001 had more value. Yes it has more value, 7.99 in 2001 compares to maybe 10.99 in 2009. Economics. 2: People compare a 30 part set with a 15 part set, saying how expensive the 15 part set has become. Now how much do you think it cost to produce 15 one-module cross axles or technic bushings ? Comparisons based on piece count has little value.

    Canadian Eh?

I am in my third job, and in each place there has been a single Canadian working too, which I've been fairly close to, speaking with on a regular basis. The first place the guy was new to Denmark, and did not speak our language, but the two last places (including my current job), the fellows were speaking Danish very well, having been here for more than five years. Every Canadian I've known in real life has been a nice person, and I have a big heart for Canada, being kind of Scandinavian with your health care etc. But do you Canadian know why some people move from Canada to Denmark ? Because it's better here in brickland cheers Front
  4. I've already arrived, just check google-maps: Front's white and black Golf in front of Tech House If you back up along the road behind the camera, you end up passing Legoland on your left.
  5. Try and watch a 6 year old putting a ball in a ball cup, or connecting a torso and a pelvis piece with two Technic bushings. They struggle, half the time turning the torso backside facing front.
  6. Kids being able to build a figure without help from parents = building pleasure = quality
  7. I will not need a room, I will drive home and sleep, when I need sleep that is. I will primarily attend the meeting saturday and sunday, and probably be at work thursday and friday. I work in Lego-Tech-House, a stone throw from Legoland, so at work I'll probably just say that I'm going to a meeting, and then go and enjoy the company of you guys and gals instead. Although I've worked in Billund for 3 years, I don't know where the village is Maybe I should try and google it up. ok, got it: Legoland Village
  8. ..... The LEGO Group will debut a new, more flexible buildable figure property created by the same people who brought you BIONICLE ....... The above is taken from the "end of Bionicle announcement". The word flexible concerns the word property, not figure. But don't worry, articulation value has yet to peak.
  9. I have wondered why people think the action figures of the new line would be more flexible, i.e. posable than Bionicle. That was not what Jan Faltum stated, when he announced the end to Bionicle. He said that the line would be more flexible in the way that it's not tied up by a complex story developed over a long time. Go back and check if you disagree.
  10. I doubt too.
  11. check BZP, we got stuff
  12. I had to vote for fast flyer, seeing that noone else did It's a nice set, I know I have at least two, and even built one in different colours. At least among some in PMD Billund, including me, Jamie is a bit of a star. Front aka Erland
  13. AFOL - Bionicle Team : 1 - 0 The match is not over yet
  14. I'll have a chance to get two characters in focus in a Kardas picture. You are right about the the missing posters, at least they should be present in the non-splashy photos. Unfortunately I don't have Star Rahkshi, and unless someone give me that set, I'll prefer to wait for sales to get it.
  15. Maybe the 6x4 in the particular colour was not an active part that year. Designers can't use any part in any colour.
  16. It's been some months since I added new photos to this thread, but a couple of newly purchased sets and the assembly of some older sets, gives me the chance to resurrect this thread. 52: 8764, Vezon & Fenrakk. 2006, Titan set. Vezon & Fenrakk 53: 8912, Toa Hewkii. 2007, 2nd half, Canister set. Toa Hewkii 54: 8990, Fero and Skirmix. 2009, 1st half, Titan set. Fero and Skirmix
  17. The first picture make him look like a block, but wow, he is really nice. Simple but nice. The legs are maybe a tad too long, but it's hard to make them shorter.
  18. The modified club is nice. I've already myself given up on the idea of using this club other than as standard, but I see you managed fine with the gap. I don't like the yellow thighs though, because the balls at both end have no function. But overall, nice
  19. My dark ages started around '83. I built a Ferrari Technic set in 2004. I started working as an engineer at Lego early 2007, and fast became an AFOL and the owner of a quite many sets. I think that TLG will be my last employer, I like it.
  20. The designers are kids aged 25-50. I bet they know some about making designs that sell. That does not mean they can't learn from an eight year olds reactions to seeing the toys.
  21. For those who struggle to find time for mocs, try and create alternatives from a set. That is effectively building a moc with a limited number of bricks. I have done this a lot with smaller sets like Exo-force sets, and it give me the possibility to be creative without getting started on something I can't finish because the ideas keep expanding the project, and time is limited.
  22. I have a lot of ideas for mocs, but the limited time I have building is spent on new sets. Mocs take a lot of time, and I do hope to be able to be creative in the future. I've only been AFOL for little more than two years, and kind of lack ability to moc effectively. I struggle to find the time building all the sets I buy, so a lot is just boxes. But whether I build now, leave a box unopened, take the set apart and sort the bricks, or do a moc. I will have the bricks for future enjoyment, and that's what counts for me.
  23. I'll be there all day on saturday and sunday. I'll probably be managing the Bionicle area like last year. I just read the newest "Byggepladen" magazine, and see that the fan area was the most visited end enjoyed of all areas in 2009. I will personally make sure to give it a go at beating you all, by jumping around dancing with big Bionicle vehicles in both hands. Like the Ambassador wrote in "Byggepladen", I too really look forward to this event.
  24. You are using parts that most people throw in the "not to be used" box, in an exeptional way. The "mech" here really looks great, nice proportions and details.
  25. ok, that guy who has to back up his car to wave to the camera, then getting hit by a truck and failing to call for emergency. Now that was funny. Good videos as always.
