  1. Yes, I work in down town Billund, trying to mess up as little as possible The museum is not open to the public, but you may have a walk through it with an employee. I know a lot of AFOL have been in the Idea-House. I actually have not seen the area with all the old sets stored away. I tend to focus on future products instead.
  2. The sets being shown built is filmed in the Idea-House, the small museum in the center of Billund, in the very same buildings where production of wooden toys started the company. The old sets are owned by Lego. When I need a break from work, I may stroll down in the idea house, and have a look at some of our old products on display, and using that history as a reference for my work. Front aka Erland
  3. Tahu's mask comes out of a mould with a slightly higher surface smoothness than normal for Bionicle parts. I noticed that right away when we recieved the first test-parts from moulding. And funny enough the effect is exactly as you mention here, it looks more shiny, especially the golden version. But it's definately the standard mask-material in use.
  4. Function of ring may be seen in this set: brickset 8061
  5. Did nobody see the new atlantis sets ? The translucent green used in the theme is an all new Lego colour.
  6. Creativity executed quite well A killer starfish, lol. I realize I have a poor imagination myself. While building at least :-)
  7. I think it soon will be a good moment to grab my camera and take a nice photo of the new Piraka guy. I'm keeping him boxed and dust free just for that special moment
  8. I may know the future, but really lack knowledge about the past. That's why these links here come in handy, I really enjoyed watching these. Let's all try and find more cool videos (and pictures ?) of the toy line.
  9. I picked this set up after seing this review. All the heads in my set was printed without any variations in quality, so obviously the reviewer has been unfortunate.
  10. As an engineer I sit in Tech-House just above our Technic project group, and I haven't noticed that they all have left the building. But I could go down and check tomorrow Off course the line is not being discontinued. I personally rate the Technic line one of the most durable of all Lego's lines, much in the same way as Blakbird described a few post above this.
  11. loaded very quickly for me :-) I'm searching the sea bottom now. Ended up downloading a software that enables exploration of the new Lego Atlantis as a desktop application. Atlantis fact: :-( Every year over 100 million sharks are killed by people fishing for them. btw. built a couple of sets today :-) cough, cough
  12. I talked to Bink this morning, and he told me that there will be official updates about Bionicle 2010 before too long. Sorry about being so hopelessly unspecific. It could be that he had jet-lag though, and was talking nonsense
  13. Welcome fellow Dane. I too have only started building with Lego a couple of years ago. Hope to meet you at both Legoworld in Copenhagen (I was there in 2009, managing the Bionicle area in the weekend as an Lego employee), and at the EB event in Billund later in the spring. Front / Erland
  14. A quite well written letter I must say. Best of luck from me.
  15. Nice to see some of our test moulded pieces being used in a Moc´
  16. Looks like a very detailed 3D model true to the picture in that mag. You should be able to share mode rendered pictures, or maybe you already got more in that brickshelf folder (not public yet).
  17. what ? Bionicle ending ? Really ? I'm not sure. I'll take a break from news discussions, see you in half a year. Moc on ! Bionicle is ON.
  18. Just to add the newest date to this thread: 22-25th of April, 2010, Billund, Denmark. I have not been to any EB events before, but I guess I can still say that you will be very welcome to join. Having people coming from like all over the world, should make this event something special. **edit** If there is an age rule I'm not really sure, we'll have to hear from some of the EB admins or the EB organizer of the event. But yes I think the event is mostly targeted at adult fans of Lego, but maybe a TFOL could join too.
  19. Too many technic parts would probably make the set way too expensive. Yes you may be right, it could be better with a seperate thread for each moc. Fell free to modify the titel, and I'll display the next moc in a new thread. .... And thank you all for comments. I had a hard time fitting the masks of life to a moc in a less strange way.
  20. Yes, and on BZP you can read that people claim I've said something about which winter sets will be seen apart from the Stars on Target. I have never said anything about that
  21. Rumours of my Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
  22. Interesting designs. I like the way you made the torso, and that torso may look the coolest in its original form. Nice knee pads, I see I'm not the only one adding masks/heads as leg armor
  23. Ok, I've run the Bionicle characters, photo portraits thread through some time now, showing off some photos I've taken of official sets. Now I think it's time to show some of the Bionicle mocs I make from time to time. Right now I think I got three mocs assembled, fairly big creations, but I do moc from time to time, and will use this thread to show off my creations in the future. In my view we could definately gain from having more mocs shown here on EuroBricks of Bionicle creations, and I guess a good idea is to do some myself instead of just sit and complain. 1: Boss of Piraka. This guy is mean, big, heavy, and above all golden as hell. Looking up towards you, just about to poke the spear in your eye. His legs includes custom thighs incorporating golden masks of life. The arms are very muscular, and the shoulders have double linkages to carry the heavy load. The hips have double linkages too, which together with the sliding damper at the shin, enables a pose like this.
  24. Nice to see some Bionicle mocs. I like the use of the wings in this moc, and the torso is nice. The legs are not my favorites though. Haven't noticed these axe pieces before, guess they came from a Knights set. The shield is kind of fun to watch, as I used those golden pieces in my latest moc too.
  25. Great review of one of my favorite Exo-Force sets of this size. I still got the four original sets in boxes, lol I'm the worst Exo-nerd around, got 5 of this particular set reviewed here. Robots and mechs, bring it on. The only one I don't have is 7712, Supernova I rate this one above average.
