93571, a ball cup with three cross holes, is the newest version of this part: Ball cup with 3 cross holes Brickthing: 17 ceroknight 19 Btw. you will need something like a hammer to break it.
-
oops, I got the number wrong, the y-joint is number 93571. The new five fingered hand is 93575, which I should know, because I put the text on the plastic piece I've edited my original post, changed the number to 93571. Count the number of y-joints only. Brickthing has guessed there is 17.

Please, can we have a competition about how many new styled y-joints, or ball-cup-hand (93571, not 93575 as I originally wrote) that guy has ? Hint: it's more than five

Stronius is a Hero ? Add a digital styled 2.0, give him a complete new bone structure, beef him up, and he should be able to make any 2000+ set look inferior. I so loved Stronius when he came out in summer 2009, he is my hero. Check the flickr link for higher resolution. Erland, part Design.

lol, neither do I. But it would be nice just too see your sets lined up.

A review of a single or more of the sets would be great, but I would start of with an overview-thread about the line. Looking forward to it.

Just thought I should show you a third moc based around the new limbs. This time I show how thin thighs can easily be avoided by adding TECHNIC structures around a bone part. The other thigh is added a wheel just for the fun of it. TECHNIC threads will wrap around a bone part (90617) loosely, see his left upper arm. Even found a spot for a BEN 10 part, as a shin. The fact is that BEN 10 ball cups are the predecessor for the new ball cups, and I like to use them for that fact. Only found room for the old BIONICLE head, and the 2009 Skrall armors. Some very nice parts indeed. Erland, Part Design.

ahh, so that's why I could not find it .... Maybe I've already seen it but I look forward to check it out next week.

I listen to what's been said here :-) Flexitracs are made in Billund, Denmark.

Jungle River (7410) - Overview and Photography

Excellent story and play review. -
It's supposed to be a joke, a reply to all the complaining about heroes having open backs. This one surely haven't. Hes got a suspended big shield.
-
I've fixed the open back problem. Panels are carried by four of the new bones, though can move around to many positions. 2011 will be a great year for building of figures. Front

Fantastic series of images. Such few parts in the moc, so many expressions.
-
Thank you for another opinion, review. I really like your pictures of the last of the building process and the final posed pictures of the set (picture: Front, Posed).

Some building facts: The 2011 pieces are highly integrable with LEGO TECHNIC. You can build around a "BIONICLE" ball ø10.25 with two Technic beams. The beams needs to be locked to keep distance between them fixed. This secures a fit of the "BIONICLE" ball inside a Technic construction. You can also build technic beams or frames onto several bone pieces in the new system, using reguler black 2M bushings. All this could also be done with Bionicle pieces equiped with balls and Technic holes, but it is way easier and standardized now. The picture below shows Flight-Dragon, a little prehistoric four-legged fantasy animal, equipped with a dangerous tail, two big wings and adjustable thrust fans. It is constructed of new bones integrated with some TECHNIC elements. The new shells have been added on the legs, tail, and head, and have been fitted with TECHNIC and SYSTEM bricks. A single 2004 Bionicle element is used in the tail. Erland, Part Design

I don't get all the fuss about the numbering. Say 2.0 or 3.0, so what, it's a release number. Look, in 5 years or so it will be easy to tell which year a Hero is from. Assuming that the numbering will continue, and even that HF continues. ... Now where was the moc I was working on ? Ok, here. Erland aka Front

If you have a lot of this piece you can build some really funny structures, that seems like they can't be taken apart. You can also build a long snake-like structure.

I think 90649 (double sided armor) and 90650 (wide 6-module armor) are used too little in the winter release. They fit nicely together on the torso with double shoulder balls (e.g. 90625). The names I use here are just what I came up with now.

Was cool seeing a Firelord review. The guy doing it surely knows quite a bit about the toy. I'm not sure if the top of the thighs can't be fixed by adding a simple Bionicle piece or maybe include a bit of Technic building too. The designer should have managed that, even though time was limited. This is our last day at work tomorrow before Christmas, but maybe I'll find time to "mod" Firelord. Will let you know if I find something simple and sweet. Erland, Part Design.

Very creative. I like what you did here with rather limited parts.

I have no facts about this change, but.... Blakbird, remember that moulds get worn and replaced by new ones. So it just takes a new part design to use on the next mould that is going to be produced anyway, because of wear on moulds. The new gear seems slightly stronger. Maybe there was a problem on the old ones keeping a consistent friction when sliding on a cross-axle. More important, the new one looks like you can put a cross-axle through it. The old one doesn't really have something in the center that looks like a cross-hole. Kids would like to have something that's obvious, or at least it will mean that more consumers have success when building with this parts. Erland, Part Design

I think I added too many pieces to this small character, that would drive the prize up too much. Could not sell :-) Take it for what you want, but I just love the new colours 315 (bright metallic) and 316 (dark metallic). Not sure about the official names, but when I say metallic I really mean it. To me the parts just look more like metal with these colours, especially 315 is a big improvement. Parts with colour 315 appear slightly darker than the counterpart of the previous years, but with both in the hands, I have no doubt what people would pick as a favorite. If 315 is more consistent, I'm really not sure, but there still will be dark lines on some parts when using metallic colours. Those dark lines are formed during the filling of the mould, and may wary a bit between the same parts.

With the new pieces it is much easier than with Bionicle pieces, to make 6, 8 or 10-legged creatures. You can build a torso with a bit of flexibility, by using bones etc. and attach legs, arms, heads where needed. A Centaurus creature, that would be a niece challenge.

The core appears in the Drop Ship set.
