I have never seen anyone using Duplo tracks in a System layout. You will surely have problems mixing System and Duplo tracks. If you make a Duplo track it might be possible to construct a System train powered by Power Functions, that will run on these tracks. But it will probably take a good nights thinking and some trials before it will work.

Check the limbs for normal Technic holes. I can see a hole on one of the vilians.

All the Bionicle parts moulds (molds for you US people) has been scraped and melted into statues of past LEGO designers.
-
The list of non-new parts on the Heroes looks to be very short. Could someone make it ?
-
You have seen two pictures. You will have to change your minds. Start by checking piece count.
-
The sets might have been packed already when they realized the problem. But if you with "In other words" mean how you guess it happened, then I'm fine with that. But normally I understand the term "In other words" as a full correlation between two statements.

I may be a bit thick headed, but are we suppose to post our entries by replying to this thread ?

Two out of three of mine from regular sets are not fully white (pink). That's disappointing. I have one battle pack, and I see that they (two torsos with that pattern in a battle pack) are pretty much solid white.

Excellent moc. You pretty much got the wonderful shapes of this car perfect.
-
I may put some moc together for at least one of the categories. I hope a lot of guys will join the competition. Lego Technic experts can probably join in the vehicle contests by creating a quick moc in an hour or two.

Yeah, completely forgot to talk about stickers. But there is so many things I did not include in this "review", that it barely deserves that designation. Btw. you will not see any stickers from us in the near future When you fly with the aircraft you hold it with one hand, and can only fire a single blaster. The blaster is on the left, meaning that holding the aircraft with the right hand, you pull the trigger with the left. For left hand people the blaster can be moved to the right side of the aircraft, but it's not shown in the instructions. Things like that is probably too difficult to explain in instructions, when you can't use words and only pictures. I actually like a pilot that fit the colours of the aircraft. But your point is what the marketing people or designers at Bionicle/Hero Factory seems to think as well

One thing I completely forgot to mention is the functions of the set. The Midak-SKy-blaster can surely shoot, and it is using four Zamor spheres in the new color # 315. The more important function is the drop-function, the ship has a nice handle with which you can swoosh it around. At that handle that when pulled will allow the ship to pick up a Hero-can underneath the ship. The two grabbing arm has small rubber beams with two cross holes that secure the transport of the can even when flying rapidly through the air. Here is that rubber beam: 2-M Rubber Beam with cross holes btw. here is the link o the drop ship at Bricklink: 7160 on Bricklink Apart from grabbing a can, the lever will also move the entire wing assemblies of the ship a bit upward.
-
No, it only has one. If you look at the second picture you can actually see that my yellow ship is missing the laser-cannon (black cross axle with red light saber at the end) on the left side. It must have fallen of before I took the pictures today, and I only noticed afterwards.

As the Eurobricks staff decided to have a Hero Factory month, I thought I should add a little to the focus on the action figure part of EuroBricks. As a Eurobricks member, big AFOL, and Part Designer at LEGO in Billund, mainly working in the action figure products, I find it pretty cool that we should have a Hero Factory month. After all action figures are not the hottest thing among AFOL, so the month come as a bit of a surprise to me. So what is up with Hero Factory ? Well it is the successor to Bionicle, which more or less has defined the buildable action figure toy market since it was introduced in 2001. Hero Factory has kicked off this summer with a website with a lot of new stuff like a "radio channel", a "Call Center" and the usual movies, product descriptions etc. Short movies are also being shown on TV in varies countries, to build the Hero Factory universe as a strong new product. I think we are so succesful with this new line that it might even continue into 2011 Now what is the highest prize point product of Hero Factory in 2010 ? It's the DROP SHIP, 7160, a Technic based aircraft which fit an action figure the size of the six heroes inside the cockpit. 7160 DROP SHIP 2nd half 2010 release. 50 $ set. Brickset link: 7160 on Brickset Bricklink: 7160 on Bricklink I'm not really sure what the name of the blue guy in the yellow dropship is, but I made a red dropship for the hero named Furno to fly around in. By stripping a few Technic sets for panels, this is possible. The DROP SHIP features the new silver colour (# 315). The red one I built features the "old silver", named "Pearl Light Gray" on Bricklink. Let me tell you that the new silver # 315 is darker, but more importantly looks much more like metal than the old Pearl Light Gray. As always a bit of difference in appearance of the colours should be expected depending on the material it is made in. But I see the new colour # 315 and the darker metallic # 316 as a big improvement in the colour palette. In fact I regard #316 as the coolest LEGO colour in the current lineup. The building of the DROPSHIP is pretty straight forward, but as with a lot of Technic building, it's pretty hard to see what you are building when you start putting the pieces together. In fact I think it's one of the cooler things about building Technic, compared to System, where it's pretty obvious straight away what you're working on. Furno and the "blue" guy ready for take off. Hope you like my pictures of the DROPSHIPS. Front aka Erland

Lego lost trademark challenge of usage of red 3D 2x4 rendering
Front replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was in a "Toy Super store" on the island Rhodes in Greece a month ago. Not the biggest toy store I've ever seen, but it was much larger than I would expect a toy store on that island. They had a fairly good amount of LEGO and on the opposite shelf there was Cobi products, also quite a big amount. -
Lego lost trademark challenge of usage of red 3D 2x4 rendering

Yes, I know that the media (newspapers, TV, web pages) are very unprofessional in the description of what has actually been going on in the EU court. Basicly is't just about the right to use a logo, an image of a 2x4 brick. I hardly believe that TLG will do as you describe above to stores selling more brands than LEGO. It would violate laws in EU. Lego lost trademark challenge of usage of red 3D 2x4 rendering
Front replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Please allow me to repeat my statement from above. A brand like MEGA BRAND can legally sell 2x4 bricks that is interchangeable with LEGO bricks, four years ago, a year ago, two days ago, today, and a year from now. Worldwide. EU has zero to do with this, they have only looked at the usage of a trademark (3d image of the 2x4 brick), a trademark that they don't recognize. So now other companies can use a similar image within the EU, without violating the properties of the LEGO company. Will it mke the bricks you buy less expensive ? Hardly, I would say. -
Lego lost trademark challenge of usage of red 3D 2x4 rendering
Front replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This thread is based on a misunderstanding about what the EU court has decided on. The trial was a dispute about whether the 3D representation of a red 2x4 brick (the rendering in 2D of a brick from an isometric viewpoint) is a trademark of the LEGO company, and thereby something that other companies can't use in their marketing or any other material. The EU court does not recognize this image of a red 2x4 as a trade mark of the LEGO company. It has absolutely nothing to do about whether the LEGO company can avoid other companies making bricks of any sort. cheers Erland, Part Design -

Welcome to the Danish world of bricks. I hope you'll enjoy your new job. And here is the translated version of your blog about the visit to Billund: Job in Billund -
Looks like a black painted 2007 Maxilos mask with glued on spiked etc. I haven't seen it before, but it could be an early prototype I haven't seen or that I've forgot about. You can't bye a set with that mask. Never.

I hope I'll be able to make it to the 2011 EB event in Windsor. Was fun this year in Billund.

Remember that if some parts break you can contact LEGO costumer service at lego.com and report which elements have failed. They will send you replacement parts, at least if they have them (they surely do in this case). Front, aka Erland, Part Design

8043 Excavator - Lego update
Front replied to tomacwhite's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
New actuators are surely not being sent out before proper testing has proven that the issues has been solved. Testing can't be made overnight, patience is needed. -
Every exhibition I've been to did not have the tables supporting the mocs made with bricks. They used what appear to be normal tables. My advice is to never sink to such low levels. Stay away from anything not made from Lego bricks sarcasm off

No, I have no knowledge about any other countries than Denmark.
