  1. The shafts need to mesh directly. This way ists not just weak, but inefficient. And the torsional stress when load is applied will destroy everything. That said, i do like your out of the box thinking. :)
  2. As the title says, it'll be a BMW e30. The rubber seals will be fine. I use this same system in the mustang, which weighs a lot more than this model will. The bars go in the connectors tightly. I drill the insides of the pinholes with a 3.2mm drill bit, so that i can insert the bars. For an unknown reason, lego uses a square profile here, just like in the 3l pins. This prevents bars to be used and greatly limits the use of the parts. If drilled, the pins are "undamaged". They look the same, function the same, they just become more versatile. Also, the connectors that are cut off, if you don't weant to, you don't have to cut them. They may rub on the tire slightly though. I sent a set of the wheel hubs to crowkillers for evaluation. If he gives them the thumbs up, i'll offer them in the lpepower store.
  3. You mean the brown bars? Those are there to hold stuff together.
  4. We will see. The rear suspension around the wheel hubs still needs some work. This will be mentioned in the next episode.
  5. I wanted to have a more sensible discussion about this than just the usuall youtube comments, so here it is. The new video, and a giant dropbox folder full of instruction pics for the current state of the chasis. https://www.dropbox....8jor/xuXYZ37fgY
  6. Not even the new reinforced ones. Not because they are weak, but because they do not have enough teeth.
  7. Looking forward to your ldraw model. Do you have your gymkhana fiesta in ldraw by any chance?
  8. Yeah, that sountrack is alo very fitting
  9. Precisely. :)
  10. Piterx: very nice fiesta. :) I really need to buy a lego servo motor and make a small car aswell, and try to cram as much suspension stuff in it as i can :)
  11. Yeah, both sarials b-model video and timslegos crawler video have music that is well integrated. The music is ment to complement the action in the video, not be the main part of it. Some people forget that (cue the EPIC music :) )
  12. I love it. One tip though. Make the panhard rods 9L instead of the 6L links. Otherwise an awesome model. :)
  13. I'm sold. Where can i buy my new 8880? :)
  14. Well... this one for example (yes, i know, it's mine, but i think the music also fits extremly well):
  15. The starcraft video also has a very well chosen soundtrack. :)
  16. Thanks. I think the music should complement the video and model, not detract from it. And you nailed it. The videos tibivi posted, fail completly. To pull off such an "epic" sountrack, the video and editing need to follow it. And the model needs to be epic too.
  17. If you ask me, both are bad examples. This "epic" music score is very unfitting to those videos. I very much love the track piterx chose for his panda 4x4 (artist and title please btw... :) )
  18. I have never had the pleasure to have one in my hand, so i wouldn't know. If someone has it, please report about its properties.
  19. Add some black panels, to mimic the front valance panel.
  20. Pneumatic suspension is Always too hard. What you can do is drill the inlets on a cylinder to 1.8mm or more, then put springs from the lego shocks inside the cylinder. That way the cylinder acts as a shocks and spring casing/mounting, and you can adjust the spring force by changing the springs inside.
