A little quick for it's size, but an entertaining build that looks excellent when finished. Lego made the right move making it the front of all of their ads during the first half of the year.

Dawn of Ages: Chapter 2, Part 1 Stalkhead Beach
PenPlays replied to PenPlays's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you all for the kind comments! *Mini Susan. And I was thinking that I wasn't going to get credit for this build back in May. This may be one of the only occasions where procrastination has benefited me. Thank you for informing me of that. I've edited the first post accordingly. -
Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
PenPlays replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
According to the Ninjago Facebook page, the new season airs on the 18th of December. This comes from second-hand information from Twitter users posing as the characters from the show, so take with a pinch of salt. If anything, we may be getting some information after the Chima finale this Thursday (just as Ninjago did for Chima after the most recent season finale). So keep your fingers crossed, grit your teeth, and wait for the 18th!- 4,591 replies

It seems that it is only second-hand information from Twitter posts from random people posing as the Ninja. Take it with a pinch of salt, but keep those fingers crossed!

Previous part: The Letters A note before reading. This MOC was originally going to be part of a joint story presented by Legonardo and I back in May. To brush up on events mentioned in this chapter please view the MOCs below! (Being that these are older MOCs, I'd suggest keeping the comments to a 0) The general idea of Cornovaria goes to Legonardo. Part 1: The Druid's Grave Part 2: Morias' Mill Part 3: The Messenger Part 4: All for One and One for All Part 5: Receiving Orders Part 6: The Flight of the Dragons Part 7: Welcome to the Mystic Isle Dawn of Ages Chapter 2: The Cornovaria Chronicles, Part 1: Stalkhead Beach This chapter takes place a couple days after The Day of Black Victory. The winds blow ever salty on the shores of the Mystic Isle of Cornovaria. At its shore, Owlan awaits for The Ring along with the Head of Garrison. On the horizon, ships from Glevum cut through the water. Among them however was a small ship bearing the arms of Lesser Burrium. It's crew boarded a raft and sailed for the land. Drinnian was the first off the raft; calm, albeit with a smile on his face. "My good friend," he said, "you have no idea the hell you missed!" Drinnian gave a brotherly hug to the same, albeit much more lax Owlan. His trip had clearly loosened him up from the normal tenseness he had become so accustomed to. "I had heard what was going through word of mouth," Owlan said. "I'm glad that The Hand didn't take your life!" Drinnian took a quick glance at Owlan's cape. "The Varlyrians! Did you hear what happened in Cedrica?" "No! Is the King dead!?!" "As far as I know, yes, but that isn't the half of it. The Fifth Guild betrayed us. If you hadn't left when you did, you would have been dead as well." Owlan fell to the sand in shock. His red Varlyrian cape flowing in the breeze. "Just take that disgrace of an import off once we reach the town," Drinnian said. Drinnian looked up and noticed the man behind Owlan. "By the gods!" he said. "Maisley is that you?" "It's been a long time," Maisley responded. "Many things have changed for the worse." Maisley looked out at the ocean. "Is that the Army of Glevum?" "Yes, but they will be heading for the settlements." Drinnian said. "We are a strike force, here to protect the Lord of Cornovaria. Can you lead us to him?" "Due to recent circumstances, that man stands before you. Apparently the people of Shuckington saw that my being Head of the Garrison was sufficient enough for a promotion to Lord. Anyway, I need a mystery solved inland. Several Cornovarians have gone missing, and a band of living skeletons have been roaming the fields. I believe they are somehow connected, but I will need assistance. Are you up to the challenge?" "Why wouldn't we be?" Drinnian replied. Owlan looked up and noticed two men bickering by the raft. Malivan slowly walked away. "Who are they?" Owlan said. "Warriors," Drinnian said, "and close friends. You see, Owlan, I take in any man I can find who is willing to serve me in my adventures. You could say I am like a Lord and The Ring is my micro-guild. A micro-guild consisting of people from all over the Guilds, even Ximius and beyond!" The larger of the bickering warriors walked up to Owlan. He was very clearly a Mitgardian, sporting features only like that of a mountain-man. "How do ya do?" the brute asked, reaching his hand out, a gesutre that was gentlemanly but seemingly odd for a man of his size. "I'm...er... Owlan," Owlan responded. "I've heard many promising things about you. I'm Nordoric, brute from the Mountains of Mitgardia!" Nordoric began flexing his leather plated arms. The second man dropped the ships contents with a mighty shrug. "You really are quite the show off, aren't you?" the man said to Drinnian. This man was quite small for a warrior, but he was wielding a bow that was clearly made for precision. "I'm Tristain." "Now when did I ask you to comment?" Nordoric said. "I'm just making a point!" "You're still rattled up about our little chat on the raft?" The squabling of the Mitgardian and the Kaliphlinite continued. "They've been long time partners," Malivan whispered to Owlan. "They're like brothers, but they never attack each other, even though they are each capable of taking the other down." "Would you men please focus!" Lord Maisley shouted. "I have an entire island's worth of people at the possible risk of death, and all I have to stop it is a squad of bickering Guildsmen!" "Anything else?" Drinnian asked. Maisley crossed his arms and sighed. "Still the same as you've always been." Maisley smiled, and turned towards inland. "Follow me." * C&C is always welcome. I would like to claim the following credits for the UPDH: Hydrology: waves (against the coast) Landscape Design: sideways rocks General Building: minifig posing Geography: oceanside Next part: The Legend of the Reaper

You will discover by touching M*** B***** (censored for the unintitiated ) that you will receive a burning feeling that surges through your spine and brain as your body tries to translate a reaction to the heresy of all heresies that you have just committed. You will then continue to have unceasing seizures on the floor as your body simply can't handle what has been done. That's the difference! A note: If you ever handled M*** B***** as a child, you will realize that your reaction will not be quite as severe. To my sadness I am one of these people, and a simple bath is all that I feel I have to do upon contact. I will say though that M*** B***** feel significantly different and have a different (not to mention unappealing) sheen to them making them look like a completely different breed when compared to our beloved Lego Brick.

Neido is an Imagination Ninja (may LU rest in blissful peace ), and possibly non-canon as the entirety of the Lego Universe Ninjago story puts everything out of whack. I have never taken the Lloyd-is-older-because-he-can-still-use-spinjitzu-in-Child's-Play theory into consideration, but I'd also like to say that he is the chosen Green Ninja, meaning that he could have developed his powers early due to his advanced amount of Spinjitzu power. Or that because of his destiny, he always had his power, but had to only implement it into fighting. I mean the kid barely trained before he spun into a tornado when fighting the Pirates (I still want them 'in the plastic' if I may also note) in Pirate's vs. Ninja. I also think Lloyd is due for a new, older, and more masculine sounding voice for Rebooted, but that's a discussion for the TV show thread in the Culture and Multimedia subforum.

With this wave I will be I do have a couple from earlier waves as well. I don't understand why this wave in particular appeals to me. I have noticed that the variation between characters/mechs is a lot better than the Rise of the Rookies and Ordeal of Fire waves, and I can see that it has greatly bettered my view on HERO Factory. All I got to do is stay from that absolutely horrible TV series (which I have always find really, really hard to do, because Lego ) and I should be good

Although very possible, it isn't for certain. Besides being a Lego fan always requires patience. You'll probably only have to wait another month as Toys R Us usually has sets a full month early. As pointed out above, please stop with the excessive emotes. One displays your emotion quite enough. I find the March date rather nice, as it gives me plenty of time to collect all of the Chima and Lego Movie sets first. For the four months after, all I'll have to care about is HERO Factory and Mixels. That's the small purchase calm period I've been waiting for. The new HF sets look excellent and I can't wait to get my hands on them!

If I may, which nifty polybags are up for grabs here?

He designed a majority of the sets.

Or Lego's "official" $59.99 price. *Hammers head with price-inflation warning*
-
Still not quite true. Either on the first or during the middle of January is when limited edition a.k.a. "Hard to Find" or exclusives show up. Both of the past Spinjitzu arenas didn't show up until the first of January, and the Fangpyre Mech didn't show up until around the middle of January (just in case some proof was needed ) Not a problem. I'm usually hammering price increase warnings into peoples heads.

Hope you aren't waiting to buy Ninjacopter and the Mechdragon from S@H! That's $20 you could spend on another set! Went to the nearby Lego Store for Black Friday (really lame, but I finished the Legends of Chima 2013 collection !!) and saw all sets on the shelves complete with markup on Hover Hunter, Ninjacopter, and the Mechdragon.

Preliminary images surfaced around March last year, after the nearly official sets were revealed two months prier during the Toy Fairs. If you saw it in 2011, that would mean you would have needed an inside job at Lego. Also several of the parts you used for this MOC were released originally released in 2012 (i.e.the golden fangs). Not to mention that it is decorated with stickers from the Rattlecopter set which was released in 2012. I guess I just don't understand how you could have made nearly an exact replica of a set nearly half a year before anyone knew it even existed. Then again, it may be just me trying to be particular... I'm not gonna rule out time traveling though.
-
You mean 2012 right? The Rise of the Snakes arc of Ninjago wasn't around then. Are you a time traveler? It looks like you used the instructions as a base for it. It's a nice rendition. I'm always on the lookout for Great Devourer MOCs seeing as this is the only other MOC here on Eurobricks.

Those terms are one and the same when it comes to Lego. Hard to Find also means the same thing as well. Direct to consumer (D2C) however means Lego Brand Stores only.

The same video can be found in HD on the official Ninjago Site.

These are nice, but making Lego characters into full human shapes isn't my cup of tea. I have no doubts that it will be that price, and whats worse, being that it will be "exclusive" to TRU, the prices will be the same between Lego S@H, Lego Stores, and TRU. Then it will be discounted 50% off on Black Friday, a la Eagle's Castle. Calling it now (if we even remember this a year from now...)
-
Either Target or TRU.
-
Nope. They are due to be released online next weekend, meaning that stores are starting to stock them. According to my local Lego Store, their shipment didn't sport a release date, meaning that they could have put the sets on the shelves at any time (they've had the sets in the back for more than two weeks now). I assume that this is the same for TRU and Fred Meyer's as well. Having finished the three sets I recently purchased, I'm more than pleased. Each set has its own unique features and the perfect amount of minifigs per each. Each set also comes with instructions that have different background art than the box. It is a futuristic blueprint style that I found to be a nice touch. The one set I purchased that stands out the most is the Ninjacopter. The set is much larger than I anticipated and sports a sleek design. The minifigures are also fantastic. Zane's battle damage is excellent, and Pixal is nice as well. Speaking of Pixal, she has a double sided head, the other side sporting red eyes and an angry expression (surprise, surprise).

Had some success today at Fred Meyers. Got the Kai Fighter, Thunder Raider and Ninjacopter. Hover Hunter and Overborg Attack were there as well, but neither had the dragon. To be more specific I went to two Freddie's and only one had tags for the Dragon. That same store had no tags for Hover Hunter and Kai Fighter and was completely void of all "2014" stock. But the prices are what got my attention which has me greatly worried. We all know that Toys R Us (TRU) overprices their sets, but when a certain set gets put online earlier than the rest of it's theme, the price is lower than their initial markup. In this case, the Nindroid Mechdragon was $79.99 (all prices mentioned will be in USD). When the set was taken down from TRU, Lego revealed the set on their Shop@Home (S@H) page at $89.99. This included the Hover Hunter at $11.99 and Ninjacopter at $59.99 So generally when budgeting for my purchases, I followed these prices. When I arrived at the first Fred Meyer's (Fred's) I visited today, there was nothing in stock, but tags for both the Ninjacopter and the Nindroid Mechdragon were on the shelves, both priced $10 less than S@H's price! Yes, the Dragon was $79.99, and the Ninjacopter was $49.99. I would have thought of it as a mistake, but TRU made the same mistake as well. Upon visiting the second and final Fred's I planned on visiting, the tags for the Ninjacopter and the Hover Hunter were bot reduced as well, the former being the same as the previous Fred's and the Hover Hunter at $9.99. Once again, cheaper in price than S@H! With Lego's recent changes with coupons at their Lego stores and their Black Friday events, I have this fear that Lego is beginning on a road that we all thought would never come. It will be interesting to see if there will be similar differences in other releases this upcoming year. A trip to Target and some Mom&Pop toy stores will definitely be needed in order to confirm this sad finding.
