Previous part: Scalous Rocks Dawn of Ages Chapter 1: Breaking from Innocence, Part 3: Petraean Market This takes place in between Challenges V and VI After a trip on the ocean, the gentlemen finally arrive in Petraea, Kaliphlin where they are strolling through the market streets that abound the sandy city. "Ooh!" Drinnian gazed. "Look at those fine cuts of gold and other precious gems and gold artifacts!" "Don't get too busy," Malivan said, "we promised to be at Ageven's house by sundown! It would be a shame if we let him waste his time getting here and buying a room for the evening. Not to mention the Elementals of course." "Those beasts made from pure elements?" Owlan asked. "Here?... Than why are people still roaming the streets?" "All of the Guild's capitals are Mystic Sanctums," Drinnian said. "They have such a culmination of magics and history to be classified as such." An older robed gentleman is making his way past a seller of fine pottery. However, his purposes are far from innocent! "AAH! THIEF!!" Drinnian habitually drew his sword. "Owlan! Stay back!" Malivan saw that Owlan was tamed not to assist. Ever since the execution from the night before he has been much more alert, and prone to strike unwillfully. "Stop in the name of the Guilds, and all they hold sacred!" Drinnian shouted." The older man made turned towards him... "Is that so?" the old man said. Two similarly dressed, yet younger men fell from the upper buildings, weapons in hand. "YAH!" the two robed men shouted as they posed, trying to threaten their new foe. "As you can see," the old man said, "You are quite outnumbered." "You should have stayed in the hole you woke from!" Drinnian said. "Are you implying that Nocturnus, one of the Guilds that you swear to, is a hole of thieves?" "Owlan! No!" Malivan whispered. Drinnian could hear the steps of his colleagues on the quiet street. "Are you challenging your authorities?" Drinnian asked. "What authority does an Avalonian have in Kaliphlin?" asked the old man back. "You mean to say that someone from Nocturnus has no rights here either? Besides, a Keeper of the Peace must bend the rules in order to protect the people he serves!" With those words, the hooded men ran off into a nearby alley. Drinnian followed with Owlan on his tail. Malivan had no choice but to reach for Owlan's cape and... ... The two stood up. "What is the point of you holding me back. Malivan?" Owlan asked. "Can I not assist my friend in his duties to the Guilds we serve?" "Owlan," Malivan responded. "What has happened to you? The moment you witnessed a thoughtless man perish, you have become so alert for thoughtless faults that you are trying to... to take care of them. Faults that some people do on mistake. No one is perfect you know." Owlan took up and sheathed his sword. "You must understand, Owlan," Malivan continued. "There are men who are worthy of death, take that fool Revolword for instance, but there are others who, albeit unlawful, do not deserve as much disciplinary action. If this is the real you coming out... *sigh*... I fear what would happen to you if we went to war." Malivan also picked up his sword. "I... I apologize, Malivan," Owlan said. "Perhaps I am so intent on discovering who I am, that I willingly accept any motive that could lead me on into life." "All is forgiven. I just hope that..." "I have returned!" Drinnian triumphantly announced. "Oh!" the Jeweler cheered. "Thank you ever so much for your saving of my treasure! My family takes pride in what we do, taking hold of old family jewels, and whatnot. I believe that all I can thank you by is this token of my gratitude..." "An ancient, Gold Daric from the days before the Guilds. They are priceless!" Something instantly grabbed a hold of Owlan. ...Memories... ...A sharing of a similar coin between father and son... ...A trade of a similar coin to villainous kidnappers... When Owlan came to, Drinnian was slowly waving his hand across Owlan's face. "Lord Deraim is waiting Owlan!" Drinnian sang. "Yes...," Owlan responded. "Right..." * C&C is always welcome! Read the story important prequel!: Cristil Bloom Beacons of Burrium Strolling Through the Woods Note: This story takes place during the Challenge V period. Dawn of Ages Chapter 1: Breaking from Innocence, Part 2: Scalous Rocks Continued from "Strolling Through the Woods, the somewhat part 1 to this chapter (hence the title). The two men made their way towards Scalous Mound, deep within Scalous Forest. "How does the old Colosseum look like?" asked Owlan. "Abandoned. Ancient..." Malivan said. "Definitely a Mystic Sanctum, though. Only a fourth of the original building remains, and by the looks of it, it was inhabited by a dragon." "A Dragon!?!" Owlan cried. "It was. Probably from some time in the Dark Period before Avalonia was established as a Guild." "Yet another time period I have no knowledge of..." "You know Denitor has a library, right?" Malivan asked. "You should find quite a bit of information there." "I get that," Owlan said, "but... I can't comprehend how much I have to read through!" "Who ever said anything about learning it all? I doubt anyone even knows the history behind everything!" "You know why, though. I have a memory of some land once beautiful; ravaged by overlords who wish to claim the lands for their own. Also of some wizards and a man I once called Father." Owlan looked down to the muddy road. "How would I be able to find the exact texts that would jog my memory?" "Well... let's use some reasoning here. You don't know of the Dark Period. That is a good place to start." Owlan shrugged in slight agreement. In the distance, the clopping of horse hooves drew nearer. "What took you boys so long?" the mounted man asked. "We had to tie Owlan's horse down before we walked through the bristle patches. It can't leap them," Malivan said. "Does it really matter how much time we take, Drinnian?" "You know me too well, Malivan," Drinnian. "I always have something scheduled." Drinnian led his horse through the bushes around his colleagues. "Where are you going? What about Scalous Mound?" "Well... I love it. It has several rooms that would suit for housing, but with a mass of people, we'd surely become disease ridden." "So we are abandoning it?" "Of course not. I intend for us to move in! I believe that I may be the only Keeper of the Peace that does not have his own massive home!" Owlan and Malivan looked at each other. It seemed that Drinnian was through with living in the Lord of Burrium's castle. "Now come on, boys," Drinnian said. "As I said: 'I always have something scheduled,' and we have an execution at dusk. His Lordship shall not be pleased if we do not accept his invitation. And don't forget that we also have to get the last supplies we need for our trip to Petrea in the morning." The two on foot followed the horseman into the woods. * I apologize for the lack of an image of the full MoC. The next sunny day I get, you can expect one. C&C is always welcome. Wonderful job Kayne. The trees are excellent, and the tower is also very well done.

West Inner Mpya Stedor in a Celebration Time!
PenPlays replied to Maxim I's topic in Guilds of Historica
Again, a fantastic MOC (or add-on, as I am assuming that is the wall from the battle of Mpya Stedor). A very minor point about Owlan. He is not a Lord, however he could very well be there to represent the Lord of Burrium.- 43 replies

Uh... The photo says July 16th... You should wait until then, seeing as you really have no need for gold Darics. -
Agreed, although my "reviews" are mostly just words .

In my hands, the cover of the DVD case looks unappealing... Lets hope the rest of the series gets its act together.

If it is anything like the large katana blades from Ninjago, they should bend back into shape over the next couple months. Just don't touch them! -

Just got my BETA code. Turns out, just as Lego Universe did, there is a major texture issue. It's just my aged computer being old again. Perhaps if I posted a screenshot here, someone might be able to diagnose whats wrong. EDIT: Now it says I have to update Unity player... well poo. This could be awhile!- 130 replies

Not to mention Boulder Bowling several times, and Jungle Gates. It seems as if the animators were given access to use all of the sets in the show unlike the animators for Ninjago, who only were able to use the Lightning Dragon out of all the exclusives in Ninjago's initial run.

Anyone see the new mini-movies on Youtube? I might try embedding them later today, but if someone would like to update them before me, be my guest .

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
PenPlays replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
I was just using reason. Lord Kayne clearly said "the best Guild," so it was obvious that an Avalonian would assert that he speaks of Avalonia. The picture above makes it confusing though. Maybe his comment and his photo should have been separate posts? -

Well, judging by my my shield, one challenge was enough for a silver border. It is a shame I didn't have the time to enter in more, but I digress, it feels wonderful to have another tag! EDIT: And thank you for noticing that fourth of my CMF collection, Kai. My Ninjago Army is directly behind it . -

A roof tutorial is nice, but how 'bout a rock work tutorial, Susan Jr. (LD for those of you who are new )? I would say soccer would be a much nicer sport to have around these parts, seeing as most of our sports currently have high death risks. And one more thing, I'm getting back on the MOC train... Just a small preview for you all. Dawn of Ages is well underway, once more. In more ways than you think .
